our first time at this hotel( we normally stay at the grand!) well what can i say, friendly staff, clean and tidy, our sea view room was lovely, the breakfast was beautifully serve and something for everyone! and to top it all off they have a pool and small spa! perfect for our stay, we will be coming back,(sorry The grand it knocked you off our top spot!x

User

We only use the swimming pool here as my son doesn’t like the public pools due to the fact that he hates getting splashed and hates the echo and the smell of the chlorine.

The staff at the Queens are lovely and friendly, The pool is not Olympic size but serves my purpose. It’s clean and the facilities are great too.

I stayed here for my 21st birthday weekend. I booked it months ago due to a good deal and it had a swimming pool. We arrived Sunday before check in and they kindly looked after our bags so we could go out and explore. We got back to the hotel around 5pm and checked in and went to our room. The room was massive. We had a view of the lanes behind us and a friendly seagull outside our window. The room was lovely and clean and even had a fridge. All the tv channels were good! Never stayed in a hotel with loads of channels before. The bathroom had an amazing bath however the hot tap was extremely hot almost instantly. We did mention this to the hotel and the next time we used it it was fine. The breakfast came with the price and was lovely! All hot and yummy no wait at all. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use the pool as we were so busy which was gutting but we are planning to come again and use it. Would 100% recommend this hotel. The price and location was amazing. Within walking distance from everything! Thank you queens hotel

User

Stayed for one night with daughter and daughter in laws for a girls night, we had a family room which was two lovely big rooms had a sea view of the west pier, but windows were quite dirty due to the scaffolding work going on, but not a problem, beds were comfy, pillows were a bit hard. One complaint there was no mirrors in the bigger bedroom, but three in the smaller room, which is a bit annoying when there is four girls trying to get ready in one room and one of the mirrors had come off the wall, the screw had come out of the wall and it was hanging off. Please put some mirrors in the bigger room! Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was ok, fresh fruit, cereals, hot buffet breakfast, scrambled eggs, wasn't offered any other type of egg,as mentioned in a previous comment, my only complaint was please please use fresh tomatoes not

tinned yuck! We would definitely stay again, a good Location, and good hotel

User

Great place. We had a huge room with sea view and massive beds! A little dated but very clean and tidy. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Service is 5*. All staff from reception, restaurant and bar to house keeping were all very polite and friendly.

Great location for the shops, restaurant and sea front. It would help if there was parking available or at least making the drop off area exactly that. There were a couple of cars parked there all weekend. Not a reason to be put off staying though and we'll definitely be back.

User

Great place, friendly staff, perfect location.... rooms are nice and clean, food is good too.

User

Firstly, let me 'defend' this hotel by saying most hotels in Brighton don't have parking and they are very clear about this online. I don't think a poor review based on the lack of parking is fair! What we liked: large spacious room, quirky layout, very clean room and communal areas (smelled lovely) yes there is some peeling around the windows but this seem old building! Staff very friendly and helpful. Great to have use of the gym and pool. What we didn't like: 1) The noise (but then show me a hotel in central Brighton by night clubs without this problem! ) next time I will bring earplugs! 2) The breakfast. Poor quality and cold, we went elsewhere and paid £5 for a great breakfast. So overall a positive stay in a sweet hotel in a good location! We'd come back.

User

Well what can I say? Hotel was nice enough and breakfast was tasty! BUT our friend put his bag in the hold room while he was waiting for his room to be ready and it went missing!! The room was locked and had to be opened by a member of staff so wasn’t like anyone could just go in, when we spoke to the reception about it they didn’t seem really interested! When he asked for a letter with his police report number on it so he could claim on his insurance it seemed like it was to much for them to do!

With no apology or care from the reception I think it was totally ridiculous and I won’t be staying again.

Other than that it was a nice hotel!!

We've just come back from a 3 night stay at the Queens Hotel whilst it wasn't all bad it wasn't good either. The hotel is not designed for anyone with any mobility problems, the shower was completely unusable which resulted in me having to go to a friend's house to shower a couple times, as due to my disability I couldn't get into the tub, as the sides are too high. There is no onsite parking and you have to use car park opposite, at £20 a day it's very expensive even with the discount. The rooms and decor are dated and some area's you can see the paper peeling from the walls, the bathroom walls could certainly do with some elbow grease as you can see the dirty from previous customers embedded in it, this was pointed out to be told that the housekeeping, do a good job, clearly not. My daughter's room was dark due to the scaffolding and nets, no mention of this when we booked. The breakfast is basic, although the sausages are nice, we had to ask the staff to warm breakfast in the microwave as it was cold on several occasions. The seaside view made up all the things wrong and the rooms are spacious which is a bonus, our first room was small and the bed was tiny for a double so we had an uncomfortable nights sleep, we then moved into a family/deluxe room which was better and was spacious. It's ok for a budget hotel, in my opinion slightly over priced especially as we paid near £700 for the 3 days, however if you can get a seaside facing room, they are lovely. I won't be booking here again as it's not value for money and it's not adequate for my needs and especially as I had to go out to shower, it defeats the purpose.

User

This was my first time staying in Brighton. Great location and staff lovely. Perfect little bar for evening drink. My only problem was paying £199.00 for a room in which u couldn't swing a cat very over priced in my opinion! Plus bathroom wasn't very clean on arrival. Would stay again if price wasn't so expensive!! Breakfast not as varied as I expected very limited choice. Overall definately not worth the money

User

Not a lot to say about this hotel...it wasn't complete rubbish, but it wasn't great. If I had a choice to go back or stay somewhere else, I would probably stay elsewhere...first impressions aren't great when you walk in and it smells like cigarette smoke. The rooms were spacious and tidy, but the beds were awful to sleep on. Breakfast was ok, but nothing to rave about...the location was fantastic, but we had to park 2kms away as there was no on site parking. It was also difficult to unload our bags at the front door as there are cars parked on the road and the curb and right up the front door...I don't understand why this isn't reserved as a loading zone for customers to at least unload there items before parking. There was also a fair few stairs that we had to lug our suitcases up and down which was ok if you're not my 70 year old grandparents...none of the staff even offered to help them. Perhaps a bellboy would be nice to help people carry their luggage upstairs and to their rooms? Overall it was an ok hotel...

User

It needs updating badly the windows you can barley see out of the carpets in the bedrooms are all old and torn .

The sink was cracked it was dull and dreary .

We only paid £68 for the room but my parents paid £275 for 2 nights to get a sea view this is well over priced for the condition of the rooms .

The breakfast was good nothing special.

The staff were friendly and polite .

Overall I wouldn’t return to this hotel unless it was drastically updated

User

2nd time we have stayed there. First time we had tower room which was amazing. This time we had a room with a view which was still a beautiful room but because we were on the first floor the noise from the road was awful. Rooms need air con as well. Breakfast was good but again not as good as the first time which was only back in Feb. Hotel is in a great position for shops, beach and pier.

User

Unfortunately we had to leave early. We were in a one bedroom apartment which I have to say is nothing like the photos on the website! Much smaller! The windows must have been made out of paper because my son and I didn't sleep a wink! The noise was unbelievable and especially helped when some sort of air conditioning unit outside kicked in at 11pm and continued through the night! Wonderful! Have to say they refunded our second night as we had to leave we were too tired to enjoy our holiday. The staff however were lovely x

User

The best part was the seaview but it came at a price- £270 for one night! (And the window need a clean.) Other than that it was poor, everything slightly dated, mattress dipped in the middle, staff walked in to clean well before check out time. And spa where do I start? Pool cold, have to walk through gym to changing room and sauna, changing rooms are grotty.

Location was great.
