About Ralls Rhythmic Movement

Ralls RMT Rhythmic Movement Training for 1 to 1 intervention for social, emotional /behavioral, physical or learning issues.

Ralls Rhythmic Movement Description

Welcome to Ralls Rhythmic Movement.
Are you worried about your child's development, in any way? Have you explored the usual medical routes, and still not really found an answer?
I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years teaching experience, and have now added Rhythmic Movement Training to my tool kit. I am passionate about helping children to reach their potential, and help find root causes for why they might find things challenging. Using Rhythmic Movement Training, we may be able to help reduce the impact and causes of the difficulties.

Rhythmic Movement is a drug-free, movement based intervention programme that uses innate movements to help ensure that primitive and postural reflexes are integrated in order to help natural development.

Did you know, that the way our shoes wear down, tells a lot about how well your brain has learnt to use our feet? It's a reflection of which reflexes in your feet, still have not finished doing their job, in your system - even though you've learnt to walk.
Do your shoes wear down on the inside? Reflexes haven't woken up properly. Do they wear down on the outside? They are awake, but have not finished developing. Do your get holes in your socks, under your toes? Well that's ...another reflex. Chances are, if that happens, you could be a highly stressed person, or anxious. Or do you get holes in the top, specially in the area of your big toe? Are you the type of person who likes to be in control? Guess what? There are reflexes at the root of this, too! If you'd like to learn more, sign up for training in #rhythmicmovementtraining.

It's a crucial time in brain development. The Limbic System of the brain should be starting to elaborate further in this time. Learning to feel safer in this world, and develop independence. Two year olds aren't terrible...

One of the visualisations, I like to use, when explaining how reflex integration works, is a brick wall. Reflexes are the foundation blocks on which brain development build. So, retained reflexes cause the 'wall' to be built on shaky foundations. This results in 'gaps in the wall' developing. With Rhythmic Movement, we provide the appropriate type of movement stimulation to the body and brain. As a result, the brain works out where the developmental gaps are, and it goes bac...k and fills them in. Bit by bit. Kinda like the holes in this wall. One is partially filled in, and the other remains open.
As the reflexes are integrated, we give the brain a second chance to establish stronger foundations. I love seeing how this manifests with each person I get to work with.
Would you like to know more? I'm running a L1&2 RMTi in 3 days, at the end of August. There are still spaces available. Contact me, now, for details.

When babies choose to scoot, rather than crawl, there are undeveloped reflexes implicated. What significance can this have for their neurological development? Possibly weaker links between the two hemispheres of the brain, leading to challenges with reading, writing and spelling. Not always, but certainly a significantly higher proportion.
You can learn more about this on the L1 RMT COURSE. I still have spaces available for the end of the month.

Whenever, I'm beside running water, I feel so relaxed and close to God. I also cannot help thinking about the brain and neural pathways. Our brain functions well, if there is good flow and everything is connected. If there is an obstruction in the pathway of the water, the water finds a way around the obstruction. The same thing happens in the brain. If there is an obstruction, the brain finds another way. However, it may not be the most efficient way to go. Sometimes the bl...ockages are so bad, the signals really struggle to get through, at all. This has been my experience in the work I am so blessed to do. Finding where the inefficiencies are, and gently stimulate the brain to find a better way. I love seeing people's function, steadily improve. And I love the fact, that everyone's journey is unique.
Officially on holiday, and looking forward to it. Have a lovely summer, everyone.

One of the most important things, Moira has taught me, about working with people, is to work WITH them and not ON them. She has taught me to really pay attention to making sure that my clients are comfortable and feel safe. This is really important, because a stressed system won't change.
This is now something I try to teach to everyone I have the privilege to teach and work with.

Did you know that there are reflexes in our feet that teach us how to walk correctly? If they don't develop properly, then we don't walk correctly and efficiently. I still help people in their adulthood as well as children.
Collapsed arches? Pronating ankles? Stiff toes? Tense feet? Stomping gait? There is a reason for all these things.
So, 3 Top Tips to help them to develop:... * Bare foot as much as possible. Don't rush to put your children into shoes. * Sensory experiences through the feet are brilliant for brain development. * Massage the feet. (If you'd like a copy of one I use, pm me).
Surprising Fact:
Feet reflexes are linked to speech development!

#TuesdayTestimonial - Yesterday, I had the enormous privilege to start working with my oldest client, so far. A wonderful 76 year old woman. She has started to come to me, 'because getting old is not fun' and she lives with terrible back pain, pain in her leg, knee and feet. She has developed such high sensitivity to so many things that she keeps finding things she can no longer eat. She has tried everything, in her search for relief. After listening to her story, I decided t...o work with her spine. First of all, to reawaken the muscles along her spine, then to show her brain that she had movement possible in each vertebrae. The release was gradual, but tangible. Even her daughter could not believe her eyes. Then, I worked on her feet, which she tells me, feel like they are burning all the time. She walked out of my clinic, taller, moving more freely, feeling like her feet were lighter, less pain in her back, for the first time in years. I received a message from her daughter, later last night, to say they had managed to go for a 25 minute walk, together. The longest her mum had managed for a very long time.
Yup. It's never too late to teach the brain that movement can be done more effortlessly. And to do it gently, without force or pain.

I often get clients coming to me, because they are struggling to learn to read. I carry out a very simple test, to see if they can actually track with their eyes, independently of their head. Left to Right, Up and down, and converge and diverge - effortlessly.
The development of the eye muscles to be able to do this, is underpinned by the development and maturation of several different reflexes. Giving the children more of the same of what they can't do, won't solve the problem. If they are struggling to read, there's a reason they are struggling. And yes, accelerated progress in reading is a very commonly reported change, in my work.
