To keep our beautiful tradition of Raag Kirtan going, we encourage you to bring your children to the Gurughar so they can be taught Tabla, Dilruba, Sarangi and recitation of Kirtan and Gurbani.

On Sunday 4th November, the world renowned Sarangi player Ustad Surjit Singh Ji will be performing Raag Kirtan from 11:30 until 12:30 at Ramgharia Sikh Gurdwara Slough. Today marks the 121st Annivesary of the 1857 - Battle of Saragarhi, the British Military's Forgotten Battle. The battle was fought on September 12, 1897, between 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army and over 10'000 Pashtun tribesmen. Their gallantry in fighting to the bitter end cemented their reputation as brave and devoted to their duty, and the soldiers were recognised by the British with memorials, a battle honour and a regimental holiday.

10th September 1604, marks the date of the First Parkash of Sri Aad Granth Sahib, On this day in 1604 the Fifth Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji placed the first Saroop (form) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib on the Manji Sahib (throne) and the first Granthi, Baba Budha Ji, recieved the following Hukamnama:
ਸੰਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਜਿ ਆਪਿ ਖਲੋਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਮੁ ਕਰਾਵਣਿ ਆਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ Santhaa kae kaaraj aap khaloeiaa har kanm karaavan aaeiaa raam || The Lord Waheguru has stood up to resolve the affairs of the Saints;... The one has come to complete their tasks.
