Went to the Ronan Keating concert really enjoyed it, fantastic sound plenty of room friendly staff, what ever you do at Rochester you always do it well

User

We weny to see Ronan Keating, excellent concert plus very good support acts, a great backdrop for these type of events and those on stage acknowledged that, and excellent to be offered golf up chairs to use, and very helpful staff bad excellent mobile toilet facilities, very well organised.

User

Very good, stunning views across Rochester and not even from the top. Did not make as I'm not that good with heights

User

Lovely setting, fairly good selection of food and drinks, toilets very clean for an outside setting. Security staff very friendly and the Entertainment, amazing Ronan Keating

User

Had a brilliant eve watching UB40 last night was well organised. Yes the bars were very busy and the toilets were too but still had a lovely time well done to everyone involved x

User

Fantastic and hugely historical Norman castle situated on the banks of the Medway river and next to the second oldest cathedral in the country. Fabulous views, stunning castle.

Can't understand why prosecco bottles were allowed but any other bottles weren't???? Couldn't have been a health and safety issue as flying corks could have proved painful! I would have liked a bit more classical music, the crowd came to life at the end with the stunning fireworks and dancing fountains.

User

Arrived at the castle as the sun was setting, enveloping the stonework in a golden yellow. Always a great picture opportunity at this time. The grounds around this ancient stronghold offers a comfortable green space to relax with family and friends and enjoy the open scenery. And the pub is only a short distance away!

Well we got in with a box of red wine and a bottle of white wine. Bottles of water and a picnic. We go to a considerable amount of concerts. Friday we went to Kew gardens to see human league. I go to enjoy the music not to be intimidated by young ,think they know it all events management. We went to Canterbury cricket ground concert aha

We couldn't bring a mat or fold up seat in. No drinks food . Queues were 45min long and drink over priced. So guess I wont be honouring them again with my cash. The prom concert at the castle was magnificent it would be sad not to go. But I will not play into money hungry hands. Let's hope common sense will prevail.

User

Lovely venue ... but having to queue for an hour to get a drink was a bit much and also queues for the toilets were very long . I think If they have more bars and toilets onsite it would be amazing!! . I liked the fact that the queues were managed by staff though.

User

Last year we went to the Motown concert and had a great night apart from long queues for the toilets. Due to the ban on all bring your own drinks including soft drinks, we decided to try the Proms. The weather was perfect, toilet queues were at a minimum and as you could take alcoholic and soft drinks in, if you wanted to buy a drink there weren't long queues. It was a fantastic concert, beautiful setting and a great night. However from other reviews and hearing about the other concerts, the bars and facilities weren't sufficient which is a real shame. They ended up allowing soft drinks due to the hot weather but alcohol was banned. The tickets aren't cheap and to have to pay high prices and spend a significant amount of time queuing for drinks and toilets it ruins the night and the spirit of the concerts. I saw no trouble this year or last. Hope they reconsider next year. Definitely would return to the Proms!

User

I attended the UB40 concert last night and had a fab time. The warm up act were great and UB40 themselves were fantastic getting the crowds up and playing all the classics.

However, I was very disappointed that the organisation of the concessions was very poor. I queued for 45 mins for a soft drink. One of the stewards said that the bar I was queuing for was only brought on site that day. Goodness knows what the service was like the night before.

As an Event Organiser for large outdoor events there should have been more toilet provisions. For 4500 festival goers there should have had approx 25 ladies 4 gents and 14 urinals. There definitely wasn't that many. I saw one trailer unit probably a 3+1 but as the queue was ridiculously long I decided to wait til I got home.

I understand previous years you could bring your own alcohol. Whilst with an Event Manager hat on I don't necessaily agree with this, but as a punter there definitely should have been more provisions. There simply weren't enough.

Please look at this in your 'wash-up' as it will certainly put people off returning to what could be a fantastic night out.

Ub40 were great... the facilities were appalling. Beer queues were glacier slow.. dribbly beer taps and bar staff that looked at me like I had handed tgem a dead dog when I asked for a pint of bitter.

User

Ub40 = fab

Warm up band = fab

Toilets = rubbish, why were many out of order ? Did you not think to fix this b4 a big event ?

Ques to food and drink = totally unaceptable, to que for 30mins plus really is not good enough for over priced stuff. If your sticking to drinks not being allowed in then make sure you can cater for us , and not have people standing in lines like cattle for a long time in the hot sunny weather.

Letting the proms bring in the own drink !!! How is this inclusive to all ? You would not accept rasism....discrimination...so why should we accept some people being allowed their own drink...and some are not. I hope you rethink this for next year and listen to the people of medway

User

Castle lovely but was at a concert run out of beer at 715 and prosecco was warm!! Concert didn't even start till 730 ... wasn't allowed to take own drink but some people managed to get there own cans in clearly not search...will not attend another concert there again.. .

User

Went to see UB40 yesterday Band were 5STAR but having queue for over an hour for a drink and half an hour for the ladies loo was ridiculous, they need more ladies loos and due to the stupid changes meaning you are no longer allowed to take in your own drinks in they need more bars, plus has to pay £10 deposit for a jug of Pimms which I understand the reason for but when we went to return it the bar had closed and packed up luckily we went round the.back and managed to get their attention. We liked the way they had put in areas to walk this year but Ever tone was really moaning about the amount of time spent queuing Medway Council need to sort this out next year.

User

UB40 were great. Support band were good but the overall atmosphere for the whole night was ruined by the total shambles of bar service. People queued for up to an hour and half to get a drink and then have a rubbish selection choice. Not enough bar staff by far. And many were just useless and in trained I like 100’s of others gave up and went outside to the pub drank there and came back to see the people we left still queuing. Disgraceful organisation. No doubt you will pay dearly for this Cock up next year. More people moaning about this than anything

User

Quite Rude staff... missed an item on an order and didn’t even apologise.... food is very average at best!

User

Band and sound was great, accesss was good toilet provision good, bar was terrible poor drink selection lonf queues poor slow service pouring bottles, no bitter on tap and run out of bottled bitter within the hour if the start.! Why two ciders on tap? Look at your audience age wasnt it obvious they weren't going to drink fruit ciders on tap? Bring back the bring your own drinks arrangement its what gives Rochester concerts that light hearted picnic feel we all love
