Great morning at Saltdean Primary School fete with white watch crew.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Fire Fighter Charity White watch Roedean and friends are riding 75 miles "under air", that means wearing Breathing Apperatus and fire kit (weather dependant)! We are inviting you down to not only support us but also to give you the oppertunity to voluteer and ride a bike for a few miles or hold a bucket so that the public can donate. As you can imagine riding a bike "under air" is a real challenge and not only physically, mentally but also logistoically! The Fire Fighter Charity provides vital support, rehabilitation and psychological help for the fire community recovering from injury, illness, stress and PTSD among other conditions.

Yesterdays Car in aid of the The Fire Fighters Charity was a huge success with a record breaking £1412 being raised by the Green Watch Crews from Roedean, Preston Circus and the amazing Community Volunteers. Non of this money could be raised however without the tremendous support of our local community so a huge thank you to all of you who came down and also who helped promote the event by sharing on social media. THANK YOU

Come down to Roedean Community Fire Station for The Fire Fighters Charity Car Wash this Saturday 21st April from 10am till 4pm. Get your car washed and meet the team from Green Watch, the community voluteers and fire fighters from across the city. You can donate as much as you want to support people from across the fire community on their road to recovery from injury, ilness and bereavement.

Green Watch from Roedean Community Fire Station will be at Brighton Marina ASDA to give advice about fireworks, fire safety at home and collecting for The Fire Fighter Charity. We will have the Fire Fighter charity shop and the community voluteers on hand as well as Roedeans Fire Engine 90P1. Come and join us, bring the kids and look around the fire engine and meet the friendly crew.

So today we banked £1201.30 in cash from the car wash plus we had a further £15 on the just giving page. That means we raised £1520 including the gift aid money that will be claimed back from HMRC! AMAZING! Many thanks once again to all those that worked so hard washing cars and collecting donations and also to the wonderful public who gave so generously on saturday!

Thank you so much for the support today at our car wash. We estimate that we raised about £1216 today before gift aid which is phenomenal. We could not have done this without the help from our fantastic fire service volunteers and the off duty fire fighters that came in to help wash over 78 cars. We look forward to seeing even more at the next event.
