it was the Biggest, it was the best and it was 200 years old I was there till the end, trying to find people I worked with like Len, Russell, Dave, Karl.
Should never of closed
Possibly the best place in the Royal Navy to have trained and worked. A pity that the powers that be did not understand the importance of the place.
Marvellous place, such history and brilliant potential...
Fantastic place but now empty, such a shame of a wasted valuable asset
A excellent hospital, good training and friends for life!
Loved my time at Haslar, made lots of friends, had a great social life, learned how to work with a hangover, lol. I regret not taking more pics but we didn't have mobile phones then.
I injoyed the tour of the grounds it brought memoires flooding back .As a small boy I used walk to Haslar with my granddad as he worked in the mail room in the summer holidays in the late 60s and later died in the Haslar. I felt a bit sad to see this once great Hospital in such a bad state.I think there should be funding made available to restore part of the hospital and take it back to nelsons era. This once great Hospital served Gosport for over 300 years and I feel as more of the buildings are turned into apartments the History will fade and that's not right.
