What a fabulous site. The pool is perfect for the children and the life guards were very diligent but really helpful and polite.

Every member of staff we met was really lovely and chatty, a real credit to the park.

We had a problem with our van upon arrival and the reception staff couldn’t do enough to help me. I have to say I really appreciated their help and if I’m honest it made the holiday.

I’ll definitely be coming back here, great location, entertainment and facilities.

Thank you to everyone that works hard at Ruda Holiday Park

We’ve just got back from a 4 night break as a family of 5. Our caravan was allocation on arrival and we were very pleased, we got a clean, modern 3 bedroom caravan.

We didn’t purchase the entertainment passes as they just weren’t necessary for us. The location is right on the beach and we had amazing weather so we were always kept busy with lots to do.

Croyde is a beautiful idyllic village, would highly recommend.

We’ve just come back from a 3 night stay at Ruda in our camper van.

We saw the weather forecast was bad so took wellies!

We were also blessed with sunshine .

We got stuck in the mud on arrival at our field, but the lovely security man came to my rescue and towed me off the grass and gave me friendly advice on how to avoid getting stuck again. He stuck around to make sure we parked up safely and didn’t get stuck again!

The pool was busy, no surprise there due to the weather, but it’s well managed. When the queue was long we went away and played pool with Grant (one of the Troupers), when we went back to the pool the queue had gone

We mislaid my sons goggles one day, but they have spares to borrow with saved some tears!

The Troupers are fantastic hosts. Always great with the kids. I’m amazed at their energy!

Thank you Ruda. We are looking forward to coming back

We went to Ruda holiday park 7/7/18 for 7 nights and we absolutely loved it.

The area itself is beautiful with the beach a short walk away. Perfect if you like body bourding and surfing.

We cannot comment on evening entertainment as we didnt go into the club. Amusements, park and obstacle course were great for the kids.

We stayed in a mortoe caravan which had a varander and was perfect size for 2 adults and 2 children.

User

We have just got back home from an amazing holiday in Ruda. Caravan clean and comfortable, with a lovely sea view. The site is fantastic, we have a 4yr old and 7 yr old who loved the evening entertainment and arcades.

Bar and food good and we had a great couple of visits in cascades.

Beach fab and just a few minutes walk away and a lovely 20 min walk to the lovely village of Croyde.

All staff were fantastic and very helpful.

We will be back next year for another great week. Thanks Ruda for making our holiday fantastic.

This place is amazing!! My family and I spent last week here and had the most enjoyable time. We stayed in one of the clamping pods and was really pleased with the cleanliness of it, the beds were extremely comfortable and we had the most beautiful sea views. We used the park, swimming pool, restaurant and went to the children’s entertainment and thoroughly enjoyed it all. The staff were all lovely and very accommodating, we promised the children they could look in the gift shop next to the entertainment stage on our last night but were gutted to see it was closed, I went to speak to Josie and she arranged for Dan to open the shop up for us to have a look, this made all 4 children’s nights as they all walked away with something. The site itself was very clean. The food in the restaurant was pleasant, one night I opted for a burger which was a little over done but another night I had the lasagne which was delicious.

My only criticism would be the fish & chip shop, it was bar far the worst fish (sausage) & chips I have ever tasted and very expensive.

I can’t wait to be able to return, I would highly recommend this site to anyone with children.

Thank you for our enjoyable stay!

Just had the best week at Ruda I absolutely love this place. Well done to AJ for all the entertainment he provided so much attention paid to my 2 year old he really is a star . Have to give a massive shout out to a certain member of staff Neil he is just amazing absolutely made our holiday couldn’t have done more a real asset to the team all the staff are great though so friendly and attentive cannot wait to return again soon

Just got back to Northampton from a truly amazing holiday. As a family of 4, (8yr old girl and 3.5yr old boy) we couldn't have asked for a more perfect holiday, the weather definitely helped a lot as we were able to enjoy the scenery and beaches all week. Our daughter learnt to use a body board on the waves and loved it and our son thought the swimming poor was incredible. Everything about the site was clean and welcoming, the staff always friendly and happy to listen to two little chatter boxes. The caravan did not disappoint, it was modern, clean and immaculate. We had a slight problem with a door handle ans security znd maintenance were out straight away no problems. My husband and I loved how non touristy the beach or village was, couple of shops but not overcrowded like some seaside resorts. We fell in love with the walks and the scenes - can't wait to book again. Thank you Ruda Parkdean Resorts for a special week. From the Tears

Just come back from a lovely week at Ruda. We stayed in one of the lodges and loved it. Plenty of room for the 3 of us. Only downside was it did have a few ants in the kitchen but as we ate out every night it didn't bother us. We've been coming to Ruda for many years and will def be coming back again

User

Just back from a family holiday. We usually borrow a motor home but as there were 8 of us, we booked the Trimstone caravan. We were impressed with the size and quality of the accommodation which was in a lovely spot with beach views. Sat on the veranda until it went dark most evenings. Used most of the facilities, which were all good, and we found all the staff friendly, in fact we couldn't fault anything at all. The beautiful weather was just the icing on the cake of a fabulous family time.

User

I am at the end of my holiday at Ruda Park and I just felt like I needed to mention how amazing the trouper Ryan was.. he was so energetic, entertaining, friendly, patient and sociable. My little boy Calvin absolutely loved him and you could tell all the kids did too. I work with children and have done for ages and I just felt like i had to write and let management know what a great member of staff they have and how he’s such a great addition to the entertainment.

User

Had a fabulous few days here celebrating my Aunties 60th birthday. The staff were wonderful, friendly and polite, and she even got a birthday card from the star land crew! Caravan was lovely and spacious, spotlessly clean, with comfy beds and warm duvets. As with all these parks, the food and beer is not cheap on site although the steak/curry night offers really good value for money. Overall a fantastic stay and will be back next year!

User

Brilliant stay. First time for us...beautiful location and very clean site.

Staff were all friendly, polite and really helpful.

Site ideally situated for exploring North Devon and beyond.

Cascades pool was great fun, chip shop good and shop on site was very well stocked.

Restaurant on site wasn't great(food not v hot) but still early days of season..would definitely recommend Ruda and we can't wait to come back.

User

We have just got back tonight and we all loved it,

Accomadation-glamping pods were very spacious all clean with very thick quilts

Would suggest and extra heater so can be one each in the bed pods at night.

Staff-were amazing, all so friendly and willing to help, had slight problem with my fridge and reported it to reception and it was fixed within 20 minutes.

Food-kids breakfast menu was great but not so keen on the adults main.

Pool-if you go at wrong time can be queing for hours but once your in, is lovely lots of little slides for babies and big flume for the older kids and even a jacuzzi.

Entertainment-loved how they alternated adult and kids throughout the night so kids wouldn't be bored, for children's entertainment I think it one of the best

Only thing I didn't like was how dark it was walking to glamping pods and would of preferred more lighting

As a family we enjoyed the whole holiday and thought it was great

User

Lovely weekend at Ruda! Beautiful weather helped! We had a super brand new caravan wth 2 double bedrooms and 2 twin, a shower room with a loo and wash basin, and a 2nd loo with wash basin. Separate dining room/sitting room with Freebiew tv/dvd player, Kitchen with all mod cons and central heating with touch control. Gorgeous beds, duvets and pillows. Only problem was that, when we went to go out on the 1st evening I couldn’t lock the door. I rang maintenance/security and a chap arrived within 10 mins. He was unable to lock it so said someone would be up to fix it in the morning. He said it was safe to leave it unlocked so we went to the club for an hour. Obviously it was unlocked all night so I didn’t sleep very much. True to his word a workman turned up early next morning and after 20 mins of trying to tighten up screws and filing the edges of the lock spaces he managed to lock it satisfactorily. What puzzles me though is why the cleaners didn’t report the problem. They obviously didn’t lock the door behind them. I didn’t realise it wasn’t locked when we arrived because I put the key in, turned it and depressed the handle. Didn’t occur to me that it may not have been locked.

Apart from this we had a very enjoyable time. We didn’t watch the entertainment after the 1st evening because it was so noisy and geared to families with small children who appeared to enjoy it no end.

User

The 3 stars are for the caravan and the beach. We opted for the caravan on site, lovely and spacious, extremely clean, lovely big windows - we can see the beach from our seating area. Only problem we had was, the cot we had asked for wasn't there when we arrived. After we mentioned it they quickly delivered one to us and left it by the front door but didn't take a bed out so we couldn't fit it into the bedroom, which meant we had to call again this time the bed was taken away but they left the mattress which we had to prop up against a wall in another bedroom as they'd told us we had to put it under the other bed which it clearly didn't fit under! The "Italian restaurant" was like a school cafeteria with breakfast food laid out in containers. we walked in briefly and straight back out again. The swimming pool wouldn't have allowed me in with all three of my children had I not had another adult with me due to their policies and even then we had to pay extra to use the pool at £1.50 each. the food in the main restaurant was extremely poor, my breakfast was on the undercooked side and the pastry was hard, when I took it back and asked for another I received another hard (over heated) croissant. The costa coffee was a god send. We chose to prepare our own meals for the duration of our stay after that which meant we'd lost time of our holiday going to the local Tesco's to buy food in. Kids clubs were good but felt there was not enough on for the older children, my 9 year old thought a couple of the activities were a bit childish for her and didn't enjoy it. Evening entertainment was again; Ok... it was the same thing every evening pretty much with the same character - lizzie lizard. I think we saw Sid once and that was all. Cocktails at the bar were awful, we couldn't even drink them. however the children loved their slushies each night. the light up toys we bought in the shop broke before we had even got back to the caravan and we had to hunt the pile for ones that worked as almost all the stock in the shop had their batteries ran out. The beach was extremely easy to get to, it was a three minute walk away, even my one year old managed to walk from the caravan to the beach without any issues. We thoroughly enjoyed the surfing lessons and the rock pools kept the kids from getting to bored. Over all the caravan and the beach really made this holiday, just shame that the resort itself has been a bit of a let down.

User

The 2 is for the staff the site gets a -2! If your thinking of going to the touring park, Croyde Burrows id avoid it! We’ve just come back from a 4 night stay, paid £50 per night to be basically trapped in the caravan because the ground was like walking on wet sponges. The car and Caravan sunk into the ground it was that bad. Wouldn’t put the awning up because the ground was just so bad, so that was £12 thrown away. We had to have the car pulled out of our pitch the one time we tried to get out. Very poor for premium site. I truly think they didn’t give a dam. I feel they should have been contacting everyone the day before they were due to arrive and giving the option of carrying on knowing how bad it was or to reschedule. The state on the pitches as we left were absolutely horrendous. If they don’t do some really serious ground works, and I don’t think they will, I’d avoid it like the plague. We’ve been going to this site for 20years and have to say over the last 5 years the conditions in the burrows has gone down year on year, to the point now I’d say save your money and run away!

The staff however were lovely the men pulling everyone out over the weekend deserve a bonus they were happy and very helpful every time, they worked very hard over the weekend. Shame on you Parkdean!

Although I don't stay at Ruda, I've been eating there for the past 12 years I've been going to Croyde, getting breakfast at the cafe and often eating chips from the on-site shop in the evening.

Unfortunately, over the last couple of years, the quality from the chip shop has gone from good to poor to almost inedible such that, last Friday, (having decided to give them another chance in the hope that things had improved since last year) I could barely finish the fish and chips I had bought and only forced myself to do so because I was so hungry.

I don't know what they have done, whether they've gone for cheaper oil or potatoes, but until they do something about this, I seriously recommend that you don't go to their chip shop!

BTW this would have been a one-star review, however the extra star is for a charming young lady by the name of Alice who was serving breakfast in the restaurant (because the old cafe is now a pizza parlour?!).

She was friendly and helpful at all times and always had a smile on her face, even after knackering her ankle after a fall in the freezer :/

User

If your staying here and care at all about single use plastic, shop before you go. The Nisa shop onsite packages bananas, lemons, garlic and pretty much everything else in a polystyrene tray wrapped in cling film. Never seen anything like it in this country. Awful!

If your staying here and care at all about single use plastic, shop before you go. The Nisa shop onsite packages bananas, lemons, garlic and pretty much everything else in a polystyrene tray wrapped in cling film. Never seen anything like it in this country. Awful!
