Every Tuesday and Thursday, from the 4th of June. The toughest bootcamp Canterbury has ever seen. It doesn't matter who you are or what your ability is, this is a bootcamp that will bring you to your knees, make you use muscles you didn't know you had and allow you to find limits you never thought possible.

Be ready for the toughest bootcamp of your life. We will be setting up shop at Canterbury Rugby Club for the summer every Tuesday and Thursday evening to put you through your paces.
The interest for this bootcamp has been overwhelming.

Being in a calorie deficit or surplus is the only way to lose or gain weight. However counting calories can become obsessive. Here are some ways to cut your calories without counting every fork full.

How often can I have a cheat meal?
Personally I have nothing against cheat meals. But I think it’s important to know exactly what you’re eating as you may think that your cheat meal isn’t doing a crazy amount of damage compared to the amount of training your doing, coupled with being spot on with your diet for the other 6 days of the week. The truth is that you might be right, depending on the size of the cheat meal obviously, but how much is the meal cutting into your progre...ss?
Here is an example of a 6 day training week and what a large dominos pizza can do to your progress. In this example fat loss is decreased by almost 1lb per week simply down to this 1 cheat meal.
The key is to be aware of the damage/hinderance this meal will do to your training and deciding if it’s worth it.

How do you start your sessions in the gym? I always find it incredible how the intensity people put into their training isn't matched with a good warm up. Is that you?

WHAT DOES PROGRESS LOOK LIKE?
When you join a gym, working with a Personal Trainer or generally engaging in exercise will give most people great results in the first 8 weeks. After this initial period however, many people ‘give up’ as their progress begins to plateau.
It’s important to remember that the initial jump of going from a sedentary lifestyle to exercising is a bigger step than any you will make when simply changing your style of training.
... So although that first jump will give you great results due to improvements in your technique, aerobic capacity and a dramatic lifestyle change, after a short period of time your body will start to adapt and the progress may start to slow. But don’t worry, progress is still being made, only this time at a more steady rate. After a few months of sticking to a training plan you will look back and not recognise the old you.

If I had to pick just 5 exercises to do for the rest of my life, it would be without a doubt these 5!

Often the hardest part of taking the first step into a gym is not knowing what you should be doing and why. It's very easy to be the person who jogs on the treadmill, does some bicep curls and perhaps overuses a resistance band just because it has been portrayed as the only option by your favourite fitness bloggers. However, your first priority must be your health and not aesthetics.
1. Find out what needs correcting from a postural point of view, and other possible ways ...to improve your health and reduce the chance for injury first and foremost. 2. Start a well rounded, varied and enjoyable program. 3. Ensure you are aware of what you are lifting, the proper technique and why you're doing it. This is where a professional guidance is key. 4. Enjoy yourself!
If you are keen to start but are unsure how, or are simply looking for a gym program, get in touch for a free consultation.
