We stayed in Sandy Bay from Monday till Friday and we had the best time. The mobile home was fabulous we even had a sea view. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We even got to have a BBQ on the private beach. Will be going back for sure. Precious memories were made. Thanks everyone for all you hard work and dedication.

User

We have just returned home from a weeks stay at your park we had an amazing week the kids loved the entertainment and your troupers were fantastic Phil being my daughters favorite they all have so much time for the kids also the lifeguards on the pool fab lads. All staff and security were great can't wait for our next visit. Keep up the good work guys

There is only a couple of thing's i would say could do with being sorted and that is the boathouse has no table numbers or numbers to sit on table when you order food as a couple of times when food arrived it had done laps of the room meaning it wasn't the hottest but again staff in there were fab. Also the toilets in showbar were closed and the toilets facing the pool are not always the cleanest which I understand when you have such a large volume of people using them can be manic and toilet rolls often empty.

User

We have always rented privately over the last few years however found a great deal with the resort and we were blown away at the beautiful and clean caravan! Great location near club house. The staff were fab as always and we must say the food has improved so so much! We ate out all weekend! We were also saved at no extra cost after the shop closed for a essential..... toilet roll lol x

We will not hesitate booking directly with the resort again x

User

Have to say we are just about to leave this site after a mon to Friday stay with 6 kids and 2 adults kids aged from 1 to 13 we have had a amazing time and wish we booked for the week our caravan was beautiful had everything we needed was lovely and warm and 2 min away from the complex. I have to do a big shout out to the staff who where amazing and would do anything to make our stay great especially the entertainment staff Sophie, Jordan, Danni and Phil and there new little lad who was helping and wants to do this when he's older he was only 15 he was fab bless him! They where all amazing kids loved them!! There is plenty to do on site including a little soft play which is ideal for my 1 year old also swimming activities kids loved the inflatable obstacle course also the life guards where amazing we have had a fab time thank you!!

User

Coming towards the end of my 7 night stay here at sandy bay.. and I absolutely love it.. Jordan and Phil are the most funniest guys ever .. I laugh from start to finish especially when Jordan does he's rave dance .. absolutely fab place to go brilliant for kids too. I will definitely be returning.. thankyou for a brilliant holiday

User

Absolutely fantastic week. The entertainment team are hilarious, kind, engaging and fantastic. The trouper shows are brilliant as is the outside entertainment. Every member of staff is helpful and friendly. We stayed in a lodge which was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The beach leading off from the site was lovely and quiet. Perfect week away and would recommend to anyone. Hoping to book another one later on in the year and I can’t wait! x

User

Could not fault the entertainment! Jordan and Phil were exceptional with my 2 girls. Was a very quiet period when we went (16th april) but they entertained not only the kids but the adults on a evening too! All staff so friendly...boathouse staff, cleaners, securiry. Caravan park itself was great...direct access to the beach was a bonus with my 2 dogs and everything was close enough to walk around (even my 2 year old didn't moan) the only issue was that our dog friendly caravan was not clean and a little unsuitable to live in...after complaining to reception they could not do enough for us. They had it 're cleaned and were very nice and understanding. We have just 're booked for July I'm a newer model caravan and we can't wait to come back.

User

The holiday Park was OK, clean and tidy. The caravan that we stayed in wasn't very good. Firstly the aerial was broken, reported this to the security and they tried to fix it but couldn't, so they supplied us with a few old DVDS. The aerial was fixed the next day. The cooker wasn't working so we couldn't cook any food in the oven. This wasn't fixed before the end of our week long holiday. I complained to the reception staff and they gave us £50 worth of vouchers to buy food in their restaurant for the 4 adults who were on holiday. The carpets in the caravan were filthy. There were weeds growing all around the caravan. The caravan was owned by Park Dean. The staff were very nice and did try to help as much as they could, but the caravan that we stayed in was a big let down for us.

User

Just came back from three days at sandy Bay. Very disappointed overall we shud have been pre warned about the muddy state ov the site. We had to walk to and from caravan with black bags around our feet. The service in the small bar was terrible. I was waiting to b served once the bar staff finished serving guy before me left the bar ignored me and went to clear tables. Then came back to the bar again and picked up cleaning materials and went away again to clean the tables ignoring me for the second time. In the end the compare from the showbar who was waiting by this time ended up serving me. We arrived Friday afternoon went entering the entertainment complex I used the toilets whilst in there the door on the disabled loo was open there was fesices up the inside ov the toilet and used paper on the floor. Each time I used toilets after that popped my head in to see if it had been cleaned up until late Sunday it hadn't been clean in at least three days. The same was for other cubicles and the floors they weren't cleaned really poor health and safety measures. I heard umpteen complaints from other people staying there over the weekend. Shame as we have been at sandy five or six times over the last two years and had nothing but praise for them. Let's hopes this can all be resolved

User

Firstly the park is clean and tidy and the staff were great cant really fault them.

However ive paid 70 for passes for our stay, only for the pool to be open limited time and having to pay extra for any water activies, the club was always closed for owner parties and meeting. There isnt alot to do other than the play park and beach. I found the site rather expensive. Booked a 7 night stay Been here 2 days and i am contemplating going home. Great site for the older generation who just want to relax and enjoy the peace.

User

unfortunately the electric was keep going off which meant coming out of the pool on 2 occasions with young toddlers with no means to keep warm & life guard could only use his torch on his mobile phone to guide us out of the pool (health & safety risk I'm sure). The final straw was when went to clubhouse one night all seemed fine, went back to caravan & no electric!! Why was this not mentioned at the main clubhouse that electric was off again therefore we wouldn't have had a drink and could have drove to a hotel? totally stranded in a freezing caravan & weather was not great at all, was only 2degrees outside & Snowing & freezing inside. No alternative accommodation offered i,e hotel or nearby caravan park even though we asked for that. We visit this site very often but this will be our last time. Serious health & safety risk for us and children. Communication needs to be improved & back up plans in place. No leadership presence that could make a decision to resolve situation. one of my 2yr olds has asthma and is now in a bad way and we all have bad chests now. we are all traumatised from the experience and probs got pneumonia!!!!

User

Worst place I’ve ever been to.. got £80 stollen when went swimming staff weren’t helpful at all just said nothing they can do as there’s no cameras.. my sons toy got stollen from our table at the boathouse which I’d only bought him 1 hour before I had to buy another one which ended up costing me £22 for a teddy.. food was under cooked at boat house waitress called Paige apologised and offered me a free drink which then got refused by manager and Paige then denied offering me a drink so basically calling me a liar.. my 5 yr old son was playing in park with his 13 yr old sister and her 13 yr old friend which some lads came in swearing and throwing wood chip at my son then proceeded to throw my son to the floor and kick him grazing his legs and arms.. my daughter then went to report it to reception who then sent her to see ‘Andy’ because he deals with complaints so they found Andy and told him and he replied with. Oh al sort it later just stay away from them. So basically I’ve paid £269 for a 4 night stay in a caravan for my kids to not be able to play in the park!!? Absolute joke this place and staff are so unhelpful!!! Only one staff that was nice and helpful and went out his way was Phil he was fantastic but safe to say we will not be coming back anytime soon!!

User

We stayed for 4 nights in the Easter holidays. We have stayed before so knew what to expect, OK caravan, not the cleanest and the beds were pretty awful but we were prepared for that.

What we were not prepared for was the electricity to go off at 8pm, due to a cable setting fire near our caravan, leaving us with no lights or heating, with temperatures plummeting to -1 overnight with frost on the windows. We were provided with no alternative heating (not even an extra blanket to put over the thin duvet) and the communication was awful. No emergency contact number given and reception was closed. (Also the phone number on the Facebook page unfortunately gets you through to a lovely lady who has nothing to do with Park Resorts and is probably getting more than a little fed up of calls!)

I had my 3 children with me aged 15, 5 and 2. My eldest two both have autism and were completely terrified, begging for us to leave because a) it was pitch black and b) there was a fire near our caravan and nobody had told us what was happening!

I have contacted Park Resorts to tell them about our horrendous experience and today received a letter without even an apology in and offering us £25 off our next break. Frankly, it's insulting! We paid over £300 for our 4 night holiday, 2 days were ruined for all of us. They were fully aware before we arrived that they had been having electrical problems but did not deem fit to tell us. We will not be staying again.

User

We have just got back from a 4 night stay at your park. We booked with Parkdean because we had done a football tour at your Torquay park in May and loved it. My Husband is from the North East, so we booked this site so that we could meet up with relatives too. We paid the extra £40 to bring our 1 year old dog with us, and feel that this is where the difference is.

On arrival, your reception staff were less than helpful. The caravan was very disappointing.

Only 3 lights in the caravan worked, and the toilet was leaking quite a lot. We reported this to Reception the following morning, who assured us that maintenance would sort it that day. We arrived back that evening and nothing had been touched. The shower walls were covered in mould, and the blind in the bathroom was also mouldy. One of the twin bedrooms had a wet patch on the floor that didn't dry out all week, despite the warm weather.

The oven door didn't close properly, and the grill was hanging on by only one screw. One of the beds in one of the twin rooms broke on the last night, and the curtains throughout the caravan smelt awful.

Our caravan was behind two staff caravans too, and they made an awful lot of noise when arriving back to their vans at 1am, which set the dog off, and took us a while to get him resettled

We are really disappointed with the site and in particular the lack of cleanliness and upkeep within the caravan. We definitely will not be staying at Sandy Bay again! This site was nothing like the lovely site we had in Torquay. Not the bst start to the summer holidays

User

We are just back from a long weekend

Whilst the views of the sea we amazing and breath taking

There is nothing good I can say about this site

On arrival the reception staff we rude and couldn’t be bothered

We were admittedly in the lowest priced accommodation but still I expected better than what I got which was dirty work tops and coffee cup rings all over also grease stains up all of the wall

The shower was damp mouldy and had mildew all over it (I have photo proof)

We had a door hanging off the hinge with strews sticking out

The other bedroom door didn’t shut and the pull out bed stunk of wet dogs and wee

We were so disappointed as had heard good things about park dean just avoid caravan site is all I can say not fit for an animal we only stayed 2 nights and that’s because we had no choice as we were meeting some one there

User

Just returned home this morning from a stay here...firstly we came home a day early as I couldn’t stay another night in that caravan. Why is it everytime we holiday with our dog we get the dirtiest old run down caravans with park dean resorts! What do we pay the extra £40 for?? Because it clearly isn’t spent on extra time cleaning!! Not all dog owners are dirty! Firstly we were given an adapted caravan with wheel chair access which seems fine until we realised the kitchen is adapted for wheelchair use! Not much good when your 5 foot 8 suffering with back problems and my hubby also has had back surgery, if I’d wanted an adapted caravan I would have asked for one. Then we tried to ignite the gas fire...doesn’t work! Tried the gas hob..igniter doesn’t work, the security fella who came and helped was very helpful though (not his fault and he did bring us and electric heater) The shower door leaks, doesn’t prevent the water from flooding the bathroom, there was a strategically placed mop and bucket beside she shower . Then there was the smell as soon as the caravan warmed up I could smell urine in the dining area and the bathroom also has a dodgy smell I can’t even describe! It’s was late reception was closed so I went to bed! Next morning I got up to cook fried breakfast...no frying pan and I wish I’d took a photo of the dirty saucepans they were disgusting! We never ate the whole day in the caravan we ate out there was no way I was using the useless dirty kitchen equipment! So thanks again park dean we won’t be booking anymore holidays with yourselves with our beloved pet and I will be making a formal complaint and asking for a refund! Oh there was one good thing about sandy bay it was the beach!

Coming towards the end of my 7 night stay here at sandy bay.. and I absolutely love it.. Jordan and Phil are the most funniest guys ever .. I laugh from start to finish especially when Jordan does he's rave dance .. absolutely fab place to go brilliant for kids too. I will definitely be returning.. thankyou for a brilliant holiday

Great site for the older generation who just want to relax and enjoy the peace.

unfortunately the electric was keep going off which meant coming out of the pool on 2 occasions with young toddlers with no means to keep warm & life guard could only use his torch on his mobile phone to guide us out of the pool (health & safety risk I'm sure).
