The Saxon Arms is a beautiful thatched flint-stone pub, set in the rural pretty village of Stratton, in West Dorset.
Run by landlord and landlady Rod and Janette Lamont – who have 30 years experience in the trade – and supported by a loyal and well-trained staff team, it has long established itself as the hub of the local community and one of the best dining pubs in the county.
The Saxon Arms has catered for various associations and groups of all shapes and sizes, from ramblers, cyclists, dog walkers – your furry friends are made very welcome at this dog friendly pub (except for in the main restaurant area of course) – cricket clubs, football teams and fishermen - all of whom can't stop coming back. And who could blame them?
The Saxon Arms remains true to the principles of the traditional English pub with its hearty welcome, wholesome pub food and real ales.

The Saxon Arms will be closed from Monday 5th Febuary and we re open on Friday 9th Febuary at 5pm. Our sister pub The Greyhound Inn, Sydling St Nicholas. 01300 341303 will be open as normal. Look out for there 2 course offer from there specials board.
Amazing new years night @ the saxon arms. The boys just doing a warm up sound check before the fun started. Missed all that could not make it you missed a great band and a fun night. And to those who were there thank you for the help on making a great New Years Eve.

Well kept Inn with friendly staff. Food was nicely presented and swiftly served.. Outside seating in the sunshine shaded by trees. Very pleasant time well worth making the cycle ride to reach it.
