Hi all, as you know we had some trouble with our fryer yesterday which means its out of service for the next few days. We have extra fryers anyway but this just means there may be some delays during busy times.

There was a small fire that started from one of the fryers, everyone is safe and nobody got hurt, just a little shocked.
Thank you so much to the guys at the Ramsgate Fire Station you were all so wonderful, we cannot thank you enough.

We went to Shakey Shakey today and it was amazing! There were 12 of us and the owners went out of their way to accommodate us. With four vegans, two gluten-free and six 'normals' in our party it was fab to find a place where we were all catered for. The vegan beefless pie was delicious and my husband really enjoyed his tofish (which even came with vegan tartare sauce!). Kids loved their vegan sausage and chips too!

We visited from London yesterday for the first time and it was definitely worth the journey! We received a lovely, warm welcome. I ordered too much vegan food due to over excitement at the choice so couldn't finish all of it. I tried the tofush and chips, battered onion rings and battered black pudding. The batter was lovely and crispy and the chips were not dripping in grease like many places. Before the food came out, we were given a delicious salad, which I demolished. They also make vegan ice cream and we were kindly given a sample to try. It was no added sugar, so just what we needed after a heavy meal. Thank you very much for your hospitality, we will definitely return!

We live in Ramsgate, and after reading such positive reviews decided to try this fish and chip shop for the first time tonight. It definitely won't be the last! The fish was beautifully cooked with a thin batter that meant you didn't get too full too quickly, and the chips were great. I don't remember buying chips from a take away before that managed to be succulent inside and crispy outside.

It's a massive five stars from us!! :-)

Visited yesterday while on a day trip with my mum and her friend. My mum is the one of the most fussiest eater when eating out. She loved the food here, never said a word except for how much she was enjoying it and was the first to finish. We definitely second her opinion. It's a bit further into town than most places but definitely worth a visit. They do gluten free, veg and vegan food too. The family who run it were so lovely and welcoming. Highly recommended!

So me and the family are all vegan and wanted to experience a traditional fish and chip takeaway vegan style and happened to of found this place. As well as there being a big selection of vegan options (totally recommend the ToFish and chips combo) the staff were really nice and the food was sooo good! You must also try the homemade Tartar sauce and Shakey Shakey seasoning pot (very salty). This is now our 'Go To' fish and chip shop :)

Shakey Shakey gives its name to a condiment that add that little extra to all its food. Great fish, very fresh and cooked in a batter that is crisp and not oily. They also do a great salad and the family run business in friendly with a great atmosphere. The tables are covered brightly and service is good. They also do a side-line with a vegan menu. Definitely, my favourite UK fish and chip restaurant.

I visited Shakey Shakey for the first time with friends yesterday evening and it was an amazing experience. Their Vegan menu had so many options I was spoilt for choice. I ordered Tofish and chips for myself and it was absolutely delicious and very very generous portions of food... It tasted just like real fish.

The staff were very friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome and relaxed.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious food at a reasonable price.

I took my little boy here yesterday after swimming and the customer service was absolutley fantastic, they were very attentive and great with my son! Food was delicious and he really did well with his on the promise of a lolly from the lady to which she gave him 3 so we left happy and he had a little spring in his step so thankyou very much we will most certainly be coming back here ��

I first sampled the shakey shakey vegan menu when they catered a Ramsgate wedding and I fell in LOVE! I took my vegetarian daughter who has a milk, egg and nut allergy and ate in yesterday as part of a group of 7 and the excellent food, service and friendly staff could not be faulted! My friends who ate the fish say it was perfect, and I've now tried everything on the vegan menu! I love the tofish with the special vegan tartar, but I think my personal favourite is the home made pasty. We all agreed that the chips are the best we have ever had. Oh, and who would have thought a chip shop would serve such a perfect soya latte?! Can't recommend this place enough on the strength of the food, but vegans, and those with allergies should definitely make a special trip on the vegan and gluten free days. Looking forward to our next visit already, thank you Shakey xx

First and best fish and chips I've had as a ceoliac since I was 6x years old and now I can have takeaway with my fafamily, such a treat, kind, friendly service, delicious, fresh food xxx

Fabulous. Probably the best grease free Fish and Chips on Thanet and the people who run it are polite and lovely. We ate in and felt so full afterwards, shouldn't have ordered the pea fritter as the cod was 15" long and hung over the massive square plates. Thinly sliced chips made a great change and were cooked all the way through. We will certainly be going back with other friends and will spread the word. Thanks Mr and Mrs Shakey Shakey.

Amazing. Totally unbeatable freshly cooked local fish and chips of named variety potato plus generous menu offerings to meet gluten free and vegan dietary needs. Very friendly service. Eat in or out. Brilliant. Thank you.

Amazing place and so many vegan options! Tasted amazing, I had the vegan battered sausage and chips which was excellent. The staff were so lovely and accommodating, really great experience and happy I got the chance to visit while I am visiting from London.

After a really bad day finally made it to Shakey Shakey to be greeted by lovely people, wonderful vegan food and amazing generosity. A fantastic find and best food whether you are vegan or not. The secret shakey shakey you sprinkle on everything is yummy. Can't love this place more! Just go, you will love it.

Absolutely gorgeous vegan food. Had the tofish and chips and it came with fresh vegan tartar sauce and a salad and was scrummy as hell. Loads of locals around and everyone was super-friendly. Glad we trekked over here on a recommendation. Will be back soon to work my way through the rest of the menu.
