About Shersby Fine Jewellers

Come and see our new stock, which has just arrived for Christmas.

Shersby Fine Jewellers Description

A Fine Jeweller with over thirty three years’ experience both working with some of the best in the business and for many prestigious clients, is to open his first retail venture.

In 2001 Richard Shersby chose Cranbrook High Street as the base from which to launch “Shersby Fine Jewellers”. Here, customers will find a range of jewellery exclusive to the shop having been designed by Richard.

Unlike most high street jewellers, Richard offers a bespoke service. He will design and make pieces personally for customers as well as bring to life a client’s own design or ideas.

Richard is no stranger to bespoke work having done this for most of his working life (most of which spent in London’s West End & Hatton Garden). Serving his apprenticeship with the West End Jewellers "Kutchinsky" who at the time had shops in Knigtsbridge, Bond Street and onboard the QE2. After his apprenticeship had finished, Richard decided he wanted to work for himself and spent twelve years working as a manufacturing jeweller, before he decided to go into reatail.

He has had a hand in making unique items for a number of high profile clients ranging from musician Phil Collins to the Sultan of Brunei. He has even played a part in recreating a valuable necklace for the big screen.

The prop was used in the film Titanic and was a replica of the one which was allegedly stolen from the safe by Leonardo di Caprio’s character.

Shersby Fine Jewellers will also specialise in offering Certificated Diamonds and can provide valuations by a NAG (National Association of Goldsmiths) Registered Appraiser. The comprehensive service offered by this new jewellery outlet will also includes remounting jewellery where a new look is desired. In addition range of gifts silver picture frames and pewter ware.

On his move eight years ago from behind the scenes in the workshop to front house, Richard commented: "The jewellery trade was always good to me but wanted to branch out into something new. Retail was at the back of my mind for years and this was the perfect opportunity to offer a range of jewellery carrying my own hallmark".

Another notable piece he can lay claim to is an 18 carat gold box with glass sides set with pink diamonds which came from the Kimberly Mines of North West Australia. The glass trinket box boasted a one carat diamond on top and was made for a wife of the Sultan of Brunei.
