Visited for a 18th birthday and what an absolute brilliant time we had thank you to all the staff for making it a great evening!

Tried this restaurant for the first time tonight and it's safe to say it's the best steak I've ever eaten. It was that good I ordered another 8oz steak halfway through my first one. It was a nice atmosphere and the staff were great. Only thing I'll pick at is that I think it was a bit overcrowded, too many people and too many tables for the space available. Other than that I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't been here before. Great quality food and great service.

Myself and my daughter went there on Mother's day food was lovely and staff couldn't have been more friendly definitely recommend it..

My beautiful girlfriend took me here as she comes to eat here when she is down and it was brilliant!! Has a 80s feel to it food and interior wise. Service was excellent food amazing and dessert was fantastic ...10/10

Wasn't really expecting much when we walked in but the hosts were super friendly and attentive but not overbearing.

The food was all excellent and on a cost versus quality basis was just beyond expectations.

Will certainly be back and would heartily recommend.

I have eaten in this restaurant a few times over the past 18 years and can't complain. However, I visited this past weekend and came out thinking something has changed. I then read that it has changed ownership recently. Not verified but something wasn't quite right. New menu with very few changes and a slight price increase. No issue with that. However, the fillet steak came with mushrooms potato of one sort or another and a mixed salad. Doesn't really go with peppercorn sauce and steak. Please add veg to the menu. The steak was good. Yes the restaurant is dated. Yes the chairs have seen better days. Yes it's cramped. Yes the drinks were a long time in arriving but even with all of that, for £17 or thereabouts for a fillet steak meal... please! Stop the bashing of this place and enjoy what you paid for! One gripe as I said was lack of veg but that won't stop me going back. If there are new owners and a new chef remember the old saying 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' and you will be fine!

This place hasn't changed in 20 years!!! - same tired old decor and cramped tables and same retro 70's/80's menu. O.k if you like simple choices like melon, prawn cocktail , garlic mushrooms to start and steak Diane, Cajun chicken , or steak chasseur for the main. Then chocolate fudge cake, ice cream sundaes or banana split for desert. I'd say the food was o.k - but not fantastic. My sirloin steak was a bit tough and my friend's steak was a bit undercooked for her liking even after sending it back. Two other friends had gammon and stuffed fish which they said was fine. The service was o.k but a bit hit and miss (odd being served by a bloke in a blue puffa jacket/coat - perhaps he was cold??) . I would probably go back but I wouldn't rush back. There are lots of other places in Pompey and Southsea serving great steak dinners. Saying that, it's always busy in there and people I know rave about it so they must be doing something right.

Starters were lovely but the main courses let them down. The steaks are not good quality and the jacket potato was not very warm. Dessert not very warm either. It’s a shame that this once lovely place seems to be slipping.

Also, please when clearing down tables, remember to sweep up the food and napkins from under the tables too! I found this oversight a bit gross to be honest. Visited for nostalgic reasons, but wouldn't rush back.
