NEWSFLASH - WE HAVE CLOSED!! Meet Oinky and Captain Piggy. These were our first 2 pigs. Back in the days when we were only going to have 2!!! This was 3 1/2 years ago. 1 1/2 years ago we decided to take the plunge and try and make Sissinghurst Pigs our career. God it's been hard work but so so rewarding. We loved our pigs with our whole heart. In July 2018 we had 15 breeding sows and just north of 200 pigs. We weren't able to increase these numbers where we are due to... the lack of land and to make a living we had to increase our breeding herd to about 40 so we decided to move to Devon and become proper farmers!! Unfortunately due to reasons out of our control this hasn't happened and after a lot of heartache we decided that we had to pat ourselves on our backs for coming as far as we have but it just wasn't going to work and instead go back to "normal" jobs. So we have spent the last 4 months selling our gorgeous pigs - sows, boars and weaners to amazing homes with owners that will love them as much as we did. We now have no pigs at all - such a bizarre feeing but we are making the most of our freedom by having enormous amounts of fun with the kids having neglected them quite a bit recently!!! So Sissinghurst Pigs is no longer BUT we still have joins and chops etc in the freezer so please contact me if you'd like anything before we close shop forever. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support over the last few years. My highlights have been CRAZY Porkfest where we hoped to have 400 people but instead we welcomes over 1500 into our home!!!, our first litter the day before we hosted my Mummy's 70th, and Andy helping birth a still born that allowed 9 piglets to survive. For my 40th last year my wonderful family bought me a greenhouse. It is my happy place and I love pottering around in it. Check out my amazing bumper crop of tomatoes. Red to eat and green for chutney to last us throughout the year 😍😋👍🏻

This popped up on my Timehop today from 1 year ago. The maternal instinct of our sows is just amazing. If a piglet goes wandering they will gently use their trotter to bring them back into the fold. Just glorious to watch 😍😍

Mmmmmmmm plums. We are so very very lucky to be surrounded by fruit farms and farm shops who so generously donate our pigs their unsold fruit. Waste not want not 😋😋😋

Seriously hot out there. The most important part of our job right now is to make sure they have a constant wallow (back of shot) as the mud is basically their sunscreen to stop them from burning. We also use old butlers sinks and baths from our renovations so they can have a “swim” too😂🤣😂🤣.

What a miserable blooming day. It hasn’t stopped raining. Everything is flooded again AND our boar keeps on escaping and trashing my flower beds. He’s on his own at the moment as we aren’t wanting to get any of our girls pregnant however he isn’t happy with this arrangement (quite rightly). Roll on the sunshine which is meant to be back tomorrow 🤞🤞

I am currently dripping with sweat having had a tricky 2 1/2 hours trying to load a 200kg pig that didn’t want to be loaded!! Pebbles however has been sunbathing and enjoying this gorgeous weather 😍😍

I love life when the sun shines ☀️ as do our pigs.

Yummy, great pork flavour. Sausages are meaty but not dry, juicy but not fatty! Mince was full of flavour and made delicious meatballs. The kids asked that we always buy Crossways pork. In terms of the bacon, yes, more fatty but very delicious so happy to have as an occasional treat! Well done guys. Love that I can buy local pork, ethically reared and delicious.

We've tried the fillet so far out of our pork box - roasted with parsnips and herbs. Delicious. Even my middle son, who is hard to please, gave it the double thumbs up and asked if we could buy it again. The sausages and bacon look excellent; we'll be trying Sissinghurst bacon sandwiches at the weekend...

We recommend everything! We had the best shoulder joint ever on Sunday - the most outstanding crackling, really delicious meat, it was utterly perfect. We can also recommend the pancetta, sausages and all the charcuterie, we've also munched our way through a rack of ribs -generously meaty they were too

Don't buy pork anywhere else, it won't be as nice

We had the sausages yesterday and they were amazing however have just eaten the tenderloin and followed Andy's instructions to just use oil and salt and it literally melted in out mouths. Best pork we have ever tasted and we will definitely be back for more. Thank you

We can't recommend their pork enough. Delicious gluten free sausages and sausagement. Gluten free sausagemeat is difficult to find and we like to use it for toad in the hole so we are very pleased. The rolled pork belly joint crackling was perfect and the meat. Thanks to Sally for showing us their healthy and happy pigs. It is so nice to buy really good pork so close by.

The sausages were so yummy that no other sausage is now good enough. It is only Sissinghurst Pig sausages for us. Yum yum yum.

The samples were fantastic! The pigs 🐷 and pigglets were so sweet... Everyone I spoke with regarding Sissinghurst pigs were informative and friendly... A lovely afternoon...

Sensational. A little fattier than "shop bought" pork but to me this just illustrates that it's not pumped with antibiotics & grain. SO tasty. Looking forward to treating my friends to the pork belly this weekend.

Picked up my order Saturday and the whole family devoured the sausages for breakfast they were delicious! However my absolute favourite was the roast we had on Sunday! This is what pork should taste like.

I am so pleased to have found this wonderful supply of delicious , happy pork. I know they are happy pigs because I see them snuffling around in the neighbours field under the trees every day on my dog walk. The lovely, lean sausages are a BIG hit in our house and we look forward to sampling all the variations and the bacon is wonderful. We'll be trying the Pork joint this Sunday - can't wait. Thanks Sally and Andy!
