It's taking me a while haha, but I'm keeping myself busy in the background though with the prepwork on 3 keepsakes 🐴❤🐘

We hunted high and low last year for one, I'm gonna have a happy teen on December 1st when the elves arrive 🎄

You might think that's ages away but in the world of crafting it's not too long at all!
My last posting day for Christmas this year is... ❤ Saturday 15th December ❤
and I'm currently working at a turnaround of ⏰ 3-4 weeks 🗓
In past years I've had to close my books for Christmas orders by the end of October so please let me know if there's anything you'd like in plenty of time x

I've got all the uniforms to sort today ready for their return tomorrow and 3 keepsakes to finish cutting out ready to start assembling this week ❤

Good morning, we'll be heading home today and I'm looking forward to cracking on with my next lot of keepsakes... I've a few mountains of washing to conquer first. Is it ever really a holiday for a mum?

Everyone's still snoozing in the Socksy Love caravan! They've not been waking up until 10am - that good old sea air must have knocked them out haha... Just as well as we're planning another day on the beach today too x

Morning campers... This will be us later on today! Nothing quite like cramming 7 people and a dog into a caravan to make you appreciate how much space you have at home😂😂😂

This gorgeous memory cushion went out this week, what a lovely way to keep those memories close. I'm sure it will get lots of hugs as time goes by 💙

I'm pleased to say my foot is healing nicely now and I'll be back to work today, though not on my machine - I still don't have the pedal movement in it. I do hope to get a few patterns prepped, ready to sew for after my short break and I have some personalisation to do too...
The kids also want to make buns and shepherd's pie so I'm going to be making up for lost time today... I'll leave this little game here for you and call back later x 😂

Good morning everyone, I'm still here but sadly still unable to get anything done. More bruising has come out on my foot over the last few days and it's so swollen and tight it feels like it's going to split. All I can do it keep applying arnica and ice, rest with it up and disappear into a haze of painkillers 😖
I want to say a huge thank you to my customers for being so understanding. It means so much 💜
The kids aren't so happy with me though, Aeryn declared it 'the worst summer holidays EVER' because I can't get my shoes on to go anywhere 😂 - you know because I fell on purpose...

I did something really silly the other day... I slipped in the rain and fell forwards bending my toes back. I'm certain nothings broken and its just bruised but it's my pedal foot and I'm hobbling around lol - I do have a beautiful rainbow of colours on my foot though! I'm sure everything will be back to normal in a few days, in the meantime I'll be resting it 😱

Looking back over the last 7 years of Socksy Love I thought I'd revisit some of my old makes in an August Alphabet Challenge...
Today is B for BAG... Here's a small selection of some of the bags I've made in the past x

Looking back through recent photos I'd say that 90% of what I make now are memory keepsakes. But I thought it would be nice to look back over everything else I've made over the last 7 years so I've decided to set myself an August Alphabet Challenge...
Today is A for ARGHHH... This little guy was one of the first Socksys I made x

Had a busy little day today, I baked 3 batches of scones with the kids (these are cheesy ones for Mr D's dinners), did a little paperwork, worked on some more of my #summerproject - crochet blanket - and watched Mamma Mia 2 with the kids. It thinks it's over taken The Greatest Showman on their songlist 😂😂

I will be closed for 2 weeks from Wednesday 15th August to take some time out with Mr D and the kids. The website will still be up and running so I'll be taking orders for September but nothing will be made or posted between 15th-29th August 🌞

If I could give you more than 5 stars I would <3 I asked Lynz if she could create some items from my wedding dress. My dress was sitting doing nothing but I didn't want to just bin it or give it away. I asked for a large doll to be wearing the dress like I did, with the detail on the front and blue on the back. I also asked if she could get a rabbit out of the dress as my little girl loves rabbits <3 I didn't specify anything for the rabbit. I told Lynz I didn't want to see any photos of cutting up the dress, it was hard enough sending it to her even though I knew I wanted to! It was quite emotional knowing I'd never wear it again and I even showed my daughter it before putting it in the box. Lynz was amazing and supportive. The first photos I got were of the rabbit unstuffed. That was emotional and I was actually thinking "oh no, what about the doll!" Even though there was a tonne of material I just couldn't picture the fact that she could easily get about a dozen rabbits out of my dress as well as the doll!!! But the rabbit looked amazing <3 I could see what bits of my dress she had used and it looked wonderful <3 I couldn't wait to see it stuffed and have been wondering since whether to give it my daughter ;) Lynz was awesome and communicated a lot and showed me photos of different stages. I couldn't wait to see them...and the doll looked like a little version of me!! <3 The doll and rabbit came wrapped very well and the rabbit was all curled up in a ball it was adorable <3 The doll and her dress and her flowers are amazing, I love her <3 The rabbit is the most adorable thing ever and I did of course give it to my daughter and she hugged it straight away...as did my husband actually when he picked it up! The stitching is gorgeous and the little nose on the rabbit is wonderful. I absolutely love the patterns for both and the choices of the parts of my dress that Lynz chose. It showed that she put a lot of thought into it in the designing stages. Both creations have been made excellently and with a lot of love. I absolutely love them both and thank Lynz so very much for creating exactly what I asked for <3

If I could give 100 stars I would !! This lovely lady is absolutely amazing !! I ordered 3 bears made from very old fabric and she treated them with love and care, lined every piece for durability and sewed every stitch with care, and it REALLY shows in the finished bears. I can never thank you enough for turning my Grampys’ jumper into something I can hug. Wonderfully packaged in brown paper, a lovely chocolate treat and finished off with a beautiful bow xx xx xx

I won a wonderful key ring from this lovely lady in a competition and it arrived today!! Brought a big smile to my face, especially when I tinkled my bell ��

Cannot say how amazed and pleased I am with my wedding dress keepsake bear. Having decided to part with my wedding dress I hadn't realised how badly damaged it was from going through a fire but Lynz worked her magic and created the most amazing memory bear complete with dress. She kept all the parts I wanted to remember from my dress to create a gorgeous masterpiece. Something I will treasure for years to come.She kept me updated at every stage from beginning to end. Just wonderful!
