Located in the South West corner of the island of Crete, the peninsula town of Paleochora is well positioned for a holiday destination. The town offers the tranquility, seclusion and picturesque Greek landscapes. A peninsula location means that beaches on either side surround the town so are never further than a short walk away from a quick dip. Whilst for more active holidaymakers the beautiful local landscape is rich to explore, in particular the areas famous gorges make for great walks.

As one of the most southern points of Europe and the Mediterranean, it comes at no surprise that the town is visited by sun and warm climates up to 320 days of the year.

Paleochora manages to encapsulate the essence of what still makes Crete such an alluring destination for holidaymakers whilst at the same time providing a unique atmosphere that is entirely of its own.
Without being overwhelmed with tourists, the town manages an effortless blend between the Cretan / town life and the varied and international crowd that makes up those who find themselves coming back to the location year after year.

Unlike many of the more tourist-centric destinations, the locals of Paleochora offer hospitality in a way that feels entirely natural, being the result of a relationship between locals and visitors that has blossomed over many years.

The town really comes to life in the evenings. All along the main street, traffic comes to a halt and seating spills out from the restaurants and bars that line it. The perfect time to chat, make new friends and maybe catch some live music.
