We called 111 yesterday morning because our 7 year old daughter Chloe was unwell and they sent an ambulance. Chris and Jordan arrived and were reassuring from the minute they arrived. They were calming and attentive and as much as we felt we didn’t require an ambulance they didn’t make us feel we were wasting their time. In the end we decided we would go to the hospital (after much indecisiveness) we are glad we did, Chloe was admitted and put on intravenous drip and pain relief. She was discharged today, exhausted but so much better and she specifically asked about Chris and Jordan who attended (benchfield close, East Grinstead) and wanted to thank them and she also wondered what they were doing today. For a very poorly 7 year old to even remember them let alone their names is a massive recognition in itself and we hope you get to see this. Many many thanks for your patience and compassion and to all of your team we admire you! Much love and thanks Chloe, Claire and Steve x

User

Thank you to Jay and James who came to assist myself to QEQM on 13/11/2017 when went into diffulculties at 29 weeks pregnant. They were very proffessional with great sense of humours which made the scary ordeal alot easier to bear. And thank you to Ryan at the call centre who kept me calm and was lovely to talk to whilst remaining perfessional from mr and mrs bender

User

Thank you so much to the two paramedics that attended me on Boxing Day. Not only were they with me in a very short time, they were very reassuring. Living alone I was quite scared and I was in a lot of pain; they took very good care of me and got me to East Surrey A&E very swiftly.

User

Phoned 111 about back pain and numbness in my limbs, they got the first response paramedics out and they arrived within 5 minutes of the call and made me feel calm and within safe hands then within 10 minutes of first response the paramedics turned up and were brilliant and sorted me out with antibiotics and what to do if anything else happens. Thanks to the ambulance service me and my mum really appreciate you!!!

User

Just had to make my first 999 call for a 3 vehicle crash. Considering how panicked and shaked I was, the gentleman on the phone was so calm and understanding. The response of your vehicles along with the fire and police was outstanding.

User

Incredible response to a 999 call in Ditton tonight! Elderly gentleman with a head wound on way to hospital within 30mins of a call being made!! AMAZING!! Thank you for keeping us all safe!

User

I know you guys get a lot of stick and I have seen just how stretched you are working alongside you in the public services but I want to say a massive thank you to the two first responders and the ambulance crew that came out to me yesterday (sorry I can’t remember all your names but I think you are all based out of Polegate Amb station) when I was really poorly with a bad infection.you were there within minutes of the call being taken (so I am informed) and were so kind and caring. The treatment I got was outstanding. Thanks for getting me to EDGH pronto and getting me hooked up to an IV so quickly I can’t tell you how much better I am feeling just over 12 hours later. You guys and your colleagues do a sterling job and people really don’t see just how stretched you are. Stars the lot of you

User

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the parademics that attended me last night when my baby arrived a lot quicker than the hospital anticipated! I have never been so happy to see a gas and air canister and they were all amazing.

User

I had to call 111 on Saturday evening due to chest pains and they sent out the lovely Nikki and Paula to me. I have to say they were absolutely fantastic with me! I suffer from anxiety so it’s safe to say I was panicking when I heard they were being sent over, but they really caring and helped calm me down. After doing my blood pressure, heart rate, an ECG and blood sugars they reassured me that it was nothing to do with my heart or lungs and explained that it was a muscular issue. I cannot thank them enough and this is the reason why the NHS is such a fantastic service! So I just want to say thank you to these two lovely ladies and I wish Nikki all the best in her retirement (she explained that she was retiring on Sunday 25/03). THANK YOU!!!!

User

Huge thanks to the Paramedics that attended my call out to Mum on Saturday in Bognor Regis. We've had lots of experience with your services in the last couple of years for our Mum and I can honestly say, everyone has been amazing. You guys are the forefront of the caring profession and we always feel very reassured by your care and compassion you show Mum. I'm useless with remembering names but I know one was called Matt and from Leeds. Keep up the good work guys xxx

User

Big thankyou to Kelly/Helen of the ambulance crew today for attending and putting my dad's mind at rest this morning in Parkbarn/Guildford... Such lovely caring professional people.... As have been my experience with all in the NHS.... You do a amazing job

User

Amazing service yesterday from the lovely lady and gentleman (sorry was not conscious enough to remember names) who came to the rescue of me yesterday when I had a seizure. Brilliant service even when I was chucking up! You guys don't get enough thanks or money , for doing an incredible job xx

User

A huge thank you to the South East Coast Ambulance Service yesterday (Gary and a Christian). I slipped down a few steps on my stairs and landed badly on my left ankle. Not broken but an ambulance was called because I passed out, very briefly. Was conscious when the initial call was made by workmen doing work in my house at the time, and both I and witnesses were able to give clear and calm description of what happened. Advised by call centre to not move, elevate the ankle, take paracetamol if needed, and apply ice pack and wait for the ambulance - and most importantly to dial 999 not 111 if my condition deteriorated in any way.

There were delays in getting to me but I felt safe because I received two further call backs from paramedics in the call centre, checking on my condition which was thankfully getting better. By the time that the ambulance guys arrived I felt a bit of a fraud for calling you out but both they and your call centre reassured me that I’d done the right thing.

Had a thorough check over and whilst the guys were happy that nothing was broken and no head injury from the fall, they were concerned about me because I’m a widow and I live alone. But I have brilliant neighbours and we came up with a plan that I would have send a text to a key holding neighbour before I went to bed and would text the same neighbour again in the morning, and if my neighbour didn’t get the texts from me he would come over and check on me. And of course, advised that if anything changed I should dial 999.

I just wanted to say thank you and let you know the plan worked. Neighbours are continuing to keep an eye out for me.

You guys are amazing and there is absolutely no need to apologise for the wait for the ambulance. I’m a retired nurse and I knew that unless my condition changed then I was not a priority- and grateful not to be a priority- thanks guys.

👏👏👏 to South East Coast Ambulance Service.

User

A big thank you to the two ambulance guys who came to my eldery Fathers home in Willesborough, Ashford at 6.00am this morning and then took him to the William Harvey Hospital . They were caring and compassionate, and made him feel at ease. I am sorry that I don't know your names but you're both stars Thank you very much

User

1st Clasd service what started as a trauma was dealt with so professional. Thank you very much. NHS Very lucky to have you.

User

it is not difficult understand why our ambulance service is in special measures what was on the organisation of the new governors is not done by a company in the south over south east it is done by a company in the north

User

Would just like to say congratulations to the van ambulance (non emergency response vehicle) with two ladies in today parked down kings road in lancing, that road at this time of day is very busy as it’s a school route.

You parked so inconsiderately causing a huge obstruction that was in fact dangerous as people could not see what was coming and children and parents are crossing the road stepping out In front of cars they couldn’t see due to you. And the space you left was incredibly tight that getting round you as a driver left you totally blind to what was coming towards you!

The parking space opposite you would have been a more suitable place to stop and drink your mug of tea and bottle of water while munching a sandwich.

Let’s hope someone else doesn’t do this in another type of van when you could possibly be in a first response vehicle and needing to get down the road quickly and safely.

Had to wait 2 hrs and 40 mins for parmedics to arrive for my 89 yr old mother who had had a fall and sustained head injury. On Warfarin so any injury could be fatal. She was being sick due to head injury and in lots of pain. Had to watch her lying on floor and crying in pain and distress for al of that time. Didnt get to hospital until 4 hrs 15 mins after fall. Scan showed bleed to brain from head injury and fracture to spine.paramedics themselves were good, but the ambulance service itself isnt fit for purpose. Too few ambulances and too few personnel
