About South Meadows Caravan Park

South Meadows Caravan Park resides in the beautiful Northumbrian Countryside.

South Meadows Caravan Park Description

We are a family run business and take a real pride in making our guests feel welcome.

We are passionate about our Caravan Park and our location and we want to provide you with the best holiday home, camping or caravanning experience in the region.

We combine sensitively sited static caravans for those looking for a permanent base along with an ideal destination for touring caravans, motorhomes and camping.

Our park offers a peaceful oasis with outstanding facilities. We pay attention to detail to ensure that all of our amenities are maintained to the highest standard.

The site is beautifully landscaped with the majority of the pitches grouped in small numbers but without compromising privacy. There is plenty of imaginative planting of mature shrubbery and well stocked flower beds that provide interest at all times of the year.

We are located within easy walking distance of the medieval village of Belford with its restaurants, hostelries and shops to cater for your needs.

We have just returned from 12 days at South Meadows and I cannot recommend the site more. Excellent facilities, dog friendly and just so beautiful and peaceful most of the time. We had caravan and a super pitch again excellent. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning next year thank you for a most enjoyable stay

User

We have going to south meadows for the last five or six years and if we can manage it

twice a year it is always clean the toilet block is clean and warm (we have just got back )

It's November the service pitches or brilliant

We have already booked for next year haha

User

We have been here several times now and love it. Stay on a serviced plot and it's great. Have not needed to use the showers as our caravan has full facilities but have used the washing machines and tumble dryer. All good. All in All, this is a site we will definitely we returning to again and again x

User

We camped here for the weekend in our tent, Lovely site with spotless facilities and is peaceful on a night. My 5 year old loved the park and also riding her scooter around the site. Will definitely be returning.

User

This site is well worth its 5 star accreditation we stayed for one night however we certainly will be back next time for longer? Fantastic facilities for the children to play , immaculately kept family washing facilities where a toilet is combined next to two shower cubicles so all the family can get into one area? Pub next to the site which I will visit next time great base to visit the likes of Bamburgh Castle like we did etc all in all a superb place to take the tourer

User

This site is amazing, best one I have been on so far, if you have dogs I highly recommend the Black swan hotel in Belford

User

This is our 4th year on a seasonal pitch here. The park and facilities are maintained on a daily basis and are immaculate. Definitely no need for a shop or club house! The village is just a five minute walk where you'll find 3 dog friendly pubs, a chippy and a co op. A five mile drive to Bamburgh, a further 3 mile for Seahouses and a 10 minute drive either way for Alnwick or Berwick. Brilliant!

User

Second time we have been here in the last 4 weeks with our tourer on a fully serviced pitch. Gem of a site and friendly helpful staff. Pitches are all pretty level as well. Just on the out skirts of the lovely village of Belford which has a great Co-op and a few nice friendly pubs. Also a great well stocked farm shop next to the caravan park. Will definitely be back.

User

Only got a storage space in Oct so stayed on site one night loved it and also had two nights in November to the staff are lovely and look after you to can't wait to go back up in the new year

User

Just spent a great Christmas at this site, everyone really friendly, all facilities were immaculate, site was kept spotless. Showers and toilets were clean and warm. Dog walking brilliant, even though we did not use it (no small children) the play park looked great. Belford village is very friendly with excellent pubs to cater for all. Local area is well worth a visit, so much t see and do. Site is so easy to get to, straight off the A1 and very easy access. Loved it and will be returning very soon in the summer (already booked for New Year 2018).

User

Just spent 6 nights here on a super pitch- lovely welcome on arrival from a friendly lady. Information given was concise and straightforward and we went to our pitch. Facilities fantastic and area was so clean and tidy.....met two different members of staff on a walk with my dogs who were very friendly and stopped to have a quick chat. Would highly recommend!!

User

Just arrived back for our 3rd visit. I forgot how much we love this site. Staff so friendly when checked in and kids got an Easter Egg which was a nice touch. New showers are lovely and site is immaculate. Safe to say we will have h a lovely Easter here and won’t be long before we book in again

User

Well kept site. Plenty of space. Lovely Park for kids. Excellent showers, toilets and family shower facilities. We had a great few days. Great staff on reception one lady in particular that helped me out. She went that extra mile to help me. Reason for 4 stars because. Need extra toilet facilities towards the the bottom of pitch area. Would love to see a little shop on site and maybe a small family pub. Then it would be so perfect

User

Visited last weekend on the East centre rally, excellent site with good spacing, clean toilets and close to town. It would have been 5 stars but spoilt by the idiots driving up and down the road way above the 10 mph limit, at times it felt like we were in a lay-by on the A1, not helped by the sites own vehicles racing up and down. As much as I hate them needs a load of speed bumps.

User

Stayed two nights. Lovely clean site well maintained. Lovely big pitch in tourer area. Shower block great loved the heated floor

Arrived after reception closed but not a problem we were given email instructions on our site and it was available on a notice too at site. Had our young dog with us great walking area for him and plenty doggy bins.

User

Lovely clean site, close to the small town with shop and pubs. Play park on site is great. New toilet block very clean and modern. Could do with a few more dog poo bins and general bins down at the bottom end of the park. Great holiday with friends will definitely be back.

User

Wouldn't recommend a Simon doesn't actually listens to his campers when they've got a complaint and really doesn't want to deal no offers of apology or even a little compensation

User

Totally dismayed! Yes the facilities are clean and Yes the area of Belford and surrounding areas was brilliant. However, the service we received was non existent. I booked online as this was billed as open. I received only 1 bit of correspondence from them after they took our payment which stated we should report to reception to be boarded out and sited. On my request I asked for a hard standing pitch if it was available. On arrival at 3pm we found reception was closed. There was no information left for us, not even basic site information or the Wifi code, which they advertise is available. A few caravaners helped us out with where site information board was, they told us where our pitch was. It was a grass pitch , there were FREE hardstanding pitches!! We did contact one of the names on the board who apologised that they were all on holiday!!!! Strange so were we, and we paid for the privilege. With the help of Andy , the guy we called he arranged us to get a Wifi code. So no staff for a few days and the pitch they allocated us is beside a new toilet block that is being built. No one can help the weather, however we were surrounded by wet slimey soil, which if they had even left boards we could have put down ourselves. We have a brand new van, awning and a puppy , everything was covered in muck. The electricity tripped occasionaly which at first we weren't sure why until another caravaner told us so did theirs. .On their return to work no site staff came near us. The toilet block is in the main site, which is gated at night. Therefore being in the Willows taking the car up in the evening to use the services wasn't possible. We were quite far down a dark field and the walk up in pitch black empty site certainly isn't comfortable. It wasn't until our last night we were told by another caravaner that there was a fob available which would have allowed us easy access. I had gone into the office earlier in the week and asked who I should complain to and was told to put it in writing, and as an after though I was asked , is there anything I can do? When I told her my issue she continued to state that she spoke to my husband when he booked...!! I clarified I booked it online and her reply was, well put it in writing!!. So as the workmen got back to work we were now subjected to the sound of a still saw and a cement mixer!!! I duly put my complaint in writing stating that we were still on site and could they contact me. Having had no response and leaving the site a day early as the mud was now unbearable I had phoned and ask if they had my complaint. After a lot of nonsense that it was it was in their spam I was told that Simon the boss had just had walked in and he would come back me that day. 6 hrs later I get an email stating he will contact me in good time...What does that even mean!! So 4 days later I call again. I was told that he would call me that day. So low and behold this morning I got an email stating that he has had to go away and would contact me next week. This is totally unacceptable customer service. At the time I was annoyed now I am furious. We felt totally ignored on the site and now not only ignored but it seems its inconvenient for Simon to even lift a phone. I'm sure he will have a mobile!. We paid to stay from 31st Dec until 5th January. I appreciate it was New Year however even a email to tell us that there would be no-one there and some basic information would have been sufficed, The fact there were empty hardstanding pitches would have meant we would have had at least a clean stay. And also siting us beside a building site was so disrespectful when they had empty pitches further away. Our experience of the staff and lack of any customer service deserves a minus rating.
