South Oxford Memorial Park And Crematorium Description

Our Mission Statement

South Oxfordshire Crematorium and Memorial Park Limited has a mission to provide exceptional standards of service and facility to the bereaved families that use its crematoria and gardens of remembrance. This is because it is not only commercially sensible to do so but also because it is an essential act of human decency towards people who have just lost a much loved member of their family or friend. Bereavement is the price we must all pay for the joy of loving and being loved. The loss of a loved one is the most stressful, unhappy and traumatic experience that we will face in life.

We at South Oxfordshire Memorial realise that we are unable to eradicate such pain but we also know it is our responsibility and duty to be as efficient, kind, respectful and polite as humanly possible to our clients at their time of grief, and thereafter when they return to remember their cherished relatives or friends. Therefore it is our aim to provide immaculately clean and tidy facilities in tranquil and beautiful surroundings attended by people who are sincerely dedicated to our mission, and who take a great pride in their work as a result.

Something to show that nobody is really gone if they are remembered and our love for those closest to us continues long after we are gone.

🚧🚧🚧🚧PLEASE NOTE🚧🚧🚧🚧
There will be essential repairs to the carriageway near the junction to the crematorium from Monday 1st October to Friday 5th October inclusive.
The works will require temporary traffic signal control to be carried out safely and will extend over a length that entirely encompasses the bus stops outside the crematorium which will necessitate them both to be suspended for the duration of the works.
... Because of the remoteness of the stops and the fact that they only serve passengers wishing to attend the crematorium there is no scope for temporarily moving them to another location, so the busses will not stop at these bus stops during the works..
Vehicular access to the crematorium will be maintained at all times although the temporary traffic signals will obviously cause some disruption to traffic.

Ask a physicist to speak at your funeral.
You want a physicist to speak at your funeral. You want the physicist to talk to your grieving family about the conservation of energy, so they will understand that your energy has not died.
You want the physicist to remind your sobbing mother about the first law of thermodynamics; that no energy is created in the universe and none is destroyed. You want your mother to know that all your energy, ever vibration, every BTU of heat, eve...ry wave of every particle that was her beloved child remains with her in this world.
You want the physicist to tell your weeping father that amid the energies of the cosmos, you gave as good as you got. And at one point, you'd hope that the physicist would step down from the pulpit and walk to your brokenhearted spouse there in the pew and tell him that all the photons that ever bounced off your face, all the particles whose paths were interrupted by your smile, by the touch of your hair, hundreds of trillions of particles, have raced off you like children, their ways forever changed by you.
And as your widow rocks in the arms of a loving family, may the physicist let her know that all the photons that bounced from you were gathered in the particle detectors that are her eyes, that those photons created within her constellations of electromagnetically charged neurons whose energy will go on forever.
And the physicist will remind the congregation of how much of all our energy is given off as heat. There may be a few fanning themselves with their programs as he says it. And he will tell them that the warmth that flowed through you in life is still here, still part of all that we are, even as we who mourn continue in the heat of our own lives.
And you'll want the physicist to explain to those who loved you that they need not have faith; indeed, they should not have faith. Let them know that they can measure, that scientists have measured precisely the conservation of energy and found it accurate, verifiable and consistent across space and time. You can hope your family will examine the evidence and satisfy themselves that the science is sound and that they'll be comforted to know your energy is still around. According to the law of the conservation of energy, not a bit of you is gone. You're just less orderly. Amen.
