Southsea'S Pie And Vinyl Description

Southsea's only record and pie cafe has launched in Castle Road, just off the seafront! Created by music and pie lovers, for music lovers, who maybe also like to do pie.
You'll find the latest eclectic music releases on CD, vinyl and MP3, if we don't stock it we'll order it.
Our cafe area will be serving a wide range of pies sourced from Buckwells of Osbourne Road, and Pie Minister, as well as hot and cold beverages.
We also have plenty of poster art for sale. These are unique prints created for one gig only. If you consider yourself either a John Peel or an uneducated eel, you'll feel at home in Pie & Vinyl.

great place, whats not to like, vinyl and pie's,and the staff are lovely.

User

Watched Lissie at Pie and Vinyl yesterday. The staff were friendly and kindly reserved a chair for my dad who has a heart problem. Great music, quirky shop and excellent pies :-)

User

Top pie with very nice staff in a good spot in town.

User

The food was so very good, served with a smile and piping hot.Pastry was light and short ( and gluten free ) they even gave me a free coffee when my daughter ordered tea for me by mistake !

Quirky, mismatched and fun, try it !

User

Tash and the team did the food for our wedding and Tash pretty much organised the order of the day for us! Not only was all the food exquisite (those burger pies were amazing) but put us at ease and went the extra mile to make our day go to plan. I was texting Tash last minute requests that weren't necessarily part of her job and she just got on with it!

Can't recommend enough. Great choice of pies and food in the evening!

User

Second visit on Friday and the same both times, great food, good music and superb atmosphere!

User

My first visit here today. What a superb place to browse through new vinyl (No pre-owned). Well laid out, a good eclectic choice, alphabetically presented. Great pie choice, and well priced. I`d be in there every week if I lived there. Looking forward to the next time.

User

Loved this place! Fantastic pie. Crust is perfectly cooked , not too thick, and filling generous with good favours and seasoning.

Hard to choose, as the menu all looks great

Quick service, relaxed, cool , and interesting features.

Looking forward to the next visit!!

User

It has a lovely atmosphere staff great and the pies are delicious. Well worth a visit.

User

Great place, had read about you in Long Live Vinyl magazine last summer, and decided to visit when I got the chance as we live in North Oxfordshire. Managed to fit in with a trip to the Historic Dockyard with wife and daughters. Exceeded my expectations with great food and friendly service, and a couple of vinyl purchases to complete the experience. Can’t wait to visit again.

User

Great food very quirky and lots of character would definitely recommend this place

User

Found this shop because we were looking for a good gluten-free meal after our visit to the HMS Victory, which was part of a vacation to England in June. It was a bit of a walk to get there, but TOTALLY worth it. Wish we could re-create this meal at home, especially the black pastry crust and the minted mushy peas...[sigh] it will have to be a happy memory! Lunch at Pie & Vinyl was one of the highlights of our trip!

User

First timer here and all the things I'd heard good about the place was true. Food was delicious and service was friendly.

A small grumble would be that although my pie was nice and hot, the mashed potato was luke warm. My other grumble would be sticky sticky table top. Admittedly I could have said something but chose not too on this occasion as so much of the rest of my visit here was perfect.

User

First time yesterday after being recommended via a celiac page as I am celiac. Fantastic gluten free options. Excellent atmosphere and will definitely be returning. Thank you for a great service.

User

First time in Portsmouth, and just came across this cafe by taking a wrong turn and walking down Castle Road on my way to catch the Coach.

This cafe is situated on a road with other amazing independent shops, including a few antique and quirky bric shops. When I got there I was ten mins too early plus I had half an hour to kill before I had to leave. I had a look at the menu and I was quite impressed.

I dont like pie but I like music and I like quirky and strange and the names of the pies are so creative, named after band names or songs and there are also vegan pies and they also do cocktails and non alcoholic. And they also sell Vinyl and have events. AND it's a tiny space with lots of odd bits and music posters and film posters and dinosaurs and elephants and a piano.

I fell in love with this place as soon as I walked in. There was so much to see, all crammed into small places, a mish mash of everything and anything.

I ordered the Pink Floyd pie and was offered mash, Peas and gravy to go with it but I just had the gravy and had Coconut tea with oat milk (they have option). That pie was so perfect, best pie I've ever had and only liked. With chickpeas, mustard and beetroot, the pie had a bit of a purple tinge and it was all edible.

So much attention to detail in this place, the little timer I got, the little milk bottle, the various types of cutlery to choose from.

The music was great and everything felt right. The staff were very friendly and approachable.

I will definitely come here again when I have more time and eat more pie!

User

Excellent welcome from the staff followed by perfect food and a couple of new album treats make for a cracking visit to Pie & Vinyl 🥧 🎶

User

Beautiful pies, hot & very very tasty with a good selection to choose from. Superb restaurant & you can even look around the vinals as well. Will definitely be back!!

User

Admittedly my first experience here was on Record Store Day but I was really impressed. Thought has gone into this place, from the design to the service to ensure the customer enjoys an experience. Its a great idea to combine food with vinyl music. What vinyl enthusiast doesnt sit back, put on their fave rave with a snack and appropriate libation? The vinyl music is varied as far as I can tell although like so many others, they dont appear to cater for classical. It would be great if a small section could be added and promoted because there is a big crowd of us out there. The staff are really friendly and really helpful even on RSD when they could be forgiven impatience but there was none to be seen. I am really looking forward to simply dropping in, browsing the vinyl and enjoying a pie and drink. We all need to support these shops if they are to survive crminal rent and rates hikes in the UK. Order off web and contribute to corporate culture or enjoy an experience and contribute to the character and social facilities of your town. I know which one I'd choose. Good luck Pie & Vinyl. See you soon
