A great atmosphere and truly very welcoming

We reserved a table and went for a Sunday Lunch at 2pm and although initially its was very busy it soon emptied. We decided to go for a starter and Carvery Main meal both of which were excellent. We would have loved to have tried a dessert but were full already, although 2 desserts won’t available probably due to the earlier crowd. I would recommend this as a good old fashioned pub and the service was extremely good during our visit

We came from Bath and Bristol to meet my son half way who came from London we have a fake Christmas every year as we cannot meet on the day never been here before, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was lovely would really recommend this pub. The only thing was I didn’t see a spotty dog.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal here to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The food was delicious & the service was lovely & friendly. We'll definitely eat here again soon.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere warm and friendly. Everything we wanted for a family meal together. Only sorry, that due to time constraints, we were unable to stay for dessert. We know from past experience how delicious these are! We'll be back.

Spent my birthday with my daughter. I'm not a big eater and asked for smaller portions was not disappointed. We finished with sticky toffee pudding and custard. There was a solo artist playing all age groups songs. Wonderful way to celebrate. We'll done to friendly staff

Since our family found this gem of a pub we now dont go anywhere else.

A beautiful pub set in Cold Ash village just outside Thatcham.

Lovely outside space with a childrens play centre.

If your looking for somewhere nice then this place is an absolute must.

Very clean inside and in the cold weather its lovely and warm.

I cant recommend this pub highly enough.

Myself, my wife and 4 of our most beautiful, fabulous friends went out for my wife's birthday meal, there was alot of different starters and mains but the kitchen coped effortlessly, food was hot and plentiful, We had plans for a few drinks after but due to the great food we all slipped into a food coma instead. Thanks for not disappointing as it was important that this was a great evening, also thanks for helping with the balloons and the cake.

My family and I have just eaten a lovely Sunday roast in your country pub. We were warmly welcomed by friendly staff and immediately felt at ease with such a relaxed atmosphere. Although the Sunday menu was limited, we all ordered and the food was bought out efficiently, although we waited slightly longer for the last 2 dishes. Andy was automatically apologetic and offered us drinks and dessert on the house, which was unexpected but very much appreciated. We all enjoyed the food and desserts, and wanted to thank the lovely, friendly, welcoming staff for making our visit to the Spotted Dog so enjoyable. A special thanks to Andy for making sure everything ran smoothly for such a large party!

Just like to say thank you from wyevale on Saturday 10th December for our works Christmas meal we all enjoyed it how quick we were getting served from the bar staff and getting 30+ meals out at the same time we felt very welcome thank you hope you all have a good Christmas from all of us at wyevale thatcham x

I haven't been here for years. We met with friends, who kindly let my children choose where they wanted to eat. They both said, the Spotted Dog. We had a lovely evening, with great food and customer service. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I had the Haloumi and Mushroom Burger (strongly recommend) and my friends had the beer battered fish and a Papa Luigi Pizza (looked amazing), which was put in a take away box, as she couldn't eat it all.

I Have eaten at the spotted dog many times and its now my preferred place to eat. Food is faultless..always tender meat and great portion sizes. Pub is traditional looking and very clean, Staff are friendly, polite and very professional, owners are very welcoming. If you haven't eaten here you must try. You will not be disappointed �

Had a lovely meal At the Spotted dog on New Year's Eve.Four off us all enjoyed our meals.The minted lamb pie was lovely.My son and daughter had the chicken curry which they loved too.My Hubble had cod and chips which was huge and cooked to perfection.Service was very welcoming and good.Been quite a few times,never s bad meal or service yet!

The staff at the Spotted dog were all very helpful and efficient. We were celebrating a birthday in our lunch hour from work. They reserved a table for our party of 10, took the food orders in advance so it was all ready when we arrived and very good it was too.
