So, it is that time of year where we start to put together our wedding brochure for the year. We have had a great response from last year's and every couple takes one away with them to help them start to make their plans.

The Hall is a great place for Children's birthday parties at this time of the year. We have a number already booked through to the Spring, but we can always take more. There are a number of wedding receptions booked in from April through to September. The Hall is in use every day for a number of Pilates classes, Exercise classes and occasional Yoga classes that are restarting. There is also an adult Ballet Class. Anyone planning family celebrations and need some space with lots of facilities the Hall makes a great venue. Here at St Mary's Hall, our couples often ask us for recommendations of other wedding suppliers when they book the hall for their reception. We like to recommend suppliers who are both reasonably local and of good quality and reliability.
The hall is very much a blank canvas and therefore pretty much all suppliers are relevant, including caterers, bar companies, decoration, transport, entertainment etc.
To offer our couples a head start in sourcing what they need for their sp...ecial day we are putting together a wedding brochure for the hall. This will be passed to the couples at the first instance of their enquiry.
We are seeking local, reliable suppliers to be featured in the brochure. We are more than half full now but still looking for a few. In particular we are looking for bands, one photographer, cakes, florists, cleaners and celebrants.

Spring is nearly here after this weekend's chilly feel.
Lots of parties at the weekends at the moment. So if you want to have a childrens party at the Hall let us know. Sunday afternoons are a good time. The Hall has been redecorated ready for the busy spring and summer season.
... We do have a few weekend dates available for weddings as we have had some cancellations. This is unfortunate and while we understand when there are family circumstances that people have to cancel it is almost impossible to re-book for an event as important as a wedding at short notice. We have always tried to help couples by only holding a £100.00 deposit to book a wedding date, but having had four cancellations and one today only six weeks away from the date because they had been offered another venue. In future we will now have to take a much higher deposit as people seem to think that £100.00 does not obligate them to this wonderful venue. It has to pay its way for the benefit of the community and all the people who use it.
We are sorry to have to do this but we are sure most people will understand.

The Hall has settled in for the winter period with lots of classes every day, Pilates, Yoga and Exercise. It is the Grand Annual Christmas Fayre this Saturday 25th November. Do come along and support the event.
We have a few dates available for parties over the festive period.
... The great Udimore Quiz will take place on 13th January which is a purely social evening with questions set by Bob Turgoose and Frank Langrish. Fish & Chips included in the ticket price and BYOB. The price will be once again £10.00 and please let me know if you wish to make up a table of 6 or 8 people. If you are unable to make up a table, let us know and we will put you in touch with others.
The hall is looking in fantastic order as we have just had it completely redecorated. We have had a wedding cancellation for the weekend of 2nd June next year. The hall would be yours from 14:00 Friday 1st through to 12:00 Sunday 3rd.

The Hall is still busy with 3 more weddings this year. I am afraid if anyone was hoping to book our wonderful Hall for 2018 that just about all the Summer dates have now gone. We do have availability before May and after September and we do offer reduced rates for the wedding weekends in these months. Due to the popularity of the Hall for weddings we now have a dedicated email address which is udimorehallwedding@gmail.com and we have a wedding coordinator Jenny Sinclair to help with the smooth running of weddings.
We have a number of parties over the next few weeks but do have some availability at weekends. Classes start again in early September. We do not have the WEA Gardening class on a Friday morning now so there is an opportunity to run other classes on Friday morning if anyone wishes to.

With the summer holidays fast approaching the Hall will be less busy with classes during the week, so if anyone is looking to have any parties we have some spaces available.
Good news for all you Yoga enthusiasts is that Lolly is returning in September and will have classes from 11.15 to 12.30 on a Monday morning. We still have lots of Pilates classes for all abilities as well.
... We have wedding bookings through until September, there is availability after that at a reduced rate. Next year looks like being a record year in Udimore for weddings with May to July now fully booked and only one weekend in August and one in September left. We do have some spaces left for children's parties and we are investigating putting in high speed broadband for a fast wireless connection to enable wider use of the hall in the week.
We will be looking for a hall cleaner from August as our present person is having to leave us. Anyone who would be interested in this well paid and part time job, please let us know. It is on a self employed basis and does require some cleaning on a Sunday.

Next year 2018 we are now fully booked in May and June with only an occasional date available until August.

Many thanks to all who helped the caller who left the wrong phone number. It looks as if we will have Yoga and Pilates classes as well as an exercise class every day of the week after half term.
Lots of enquiries for weddings in 2018 and it is already filling up, so if you are thinking of getting hitched next summer make sure you book soon.

The Hall is already very busy with classes for Yoga and Pilates most days. We already have a number of bookings for parties and weddings are being booked for 2018. The only dates we have available in 2017 are from October. We have recently had a telephone enquiry from a lady by the name of Louise Simkiss wanting to book a childrens birthday party and she is also interested in running Yoga classes at the Hall. Unfortunately the telephone number she left on the answerphone was incorrect and I have been unable to contact her. There is now a day when there is space for a Yoga class so she is in luck!

The Grand Udimore Xmas Fayre is now over and what a great success it was. The Reindeer and Santa have left to prepare for their great journey in less than 3 weeks. Classes continue at the Hall until the week before Christmas and most start again early in the New Year. The wedding season starts again in May and we are fully booked until September. We already have 3 confirmed bookings for 2018!
We have a number of parties in January and February and other events. It is also the Grand Udimore Quiz to be held at 6.45 on 14th January. There are tables of 6 - 8 people and the cost will be £10.00 per person including Fish & Chips at the start of the evening, Bring Your Own Booze, it helps with the answers.
