Went there for dinner with my family. Lovely food, very pleasant chef and good desserts. Unfortunately I left my handbag under the table but fortunately a member of staff found it. I called this morning and after being asked for a description of the bag by the manager, he confirmed it was there. I collected my bag and feel really grateful. They found it, kept it safe and all contents still there. Can't express my gratitude for the honesty and customer service. First class!!!!!

User

Excellent I booked online the night before for Sunday lunch All easy and very smooth Lady who served us at the bar was very helpful and gave great customer service Table was exactly where I had hoped and requested and ready on time on the dot Meal was hit and tasty One negative and just a personal thing really but the woman who served the carvery at 3/330 was a real misery !! Other than her everything and everyone else was top class !!

User

8 of us came to eat last night. We all had a carvery and desserts and they were all lovely. Excellent service throughout the night from all food and bar staff. Staff carried our drinks up to our table, cleaned our table before we sat down, came and asked a few times how our food was. We took a couple of pints back as they didnвҖҷt taste right. The barman checked the barrel, explained why they may not have been right and gave us some new to taste to see if we were happy with it before pouring two new pints. Excellent food and service throughout.

User

Stopped here yesterday after a busy day. First impressions was a lovely place. Unfortunately looked like the guy behind was having a bad day as he was not very happy but the food was fantastic and made up for it. We will return if ever we are back in that direction.

User

Of the 3 Crown Carvery,s I have visited this so far the best for quality of food.Only small begin point being did feel once meal had been eaten, there was sort of hints to make you leave.

User

We are part of a veterans charity and go out once a month for a breakfast meet. There is normal 15+ of us and this venue is big enough for us all to sit near each other. Only down side is the fact they run out of cups for drinks etc a lot

User

Visited last Friday evening around 7pm there was hardly any meat left and few roast potatoes and the dregs of vegetables. Myself and 3 of us were just lucky enough to get the last slice of each meat on the tray, the girl who was serving I felt sorry for as lots of people were getting turned away or complaining at her when it wasn't her fault. The guy at the bar didn't tell customers it was only turkey and the guy in the kitchen didn't seem that bothered. I still paid full price. The waiting staff were very apologetic and helpful but I've now been a few times and been disappointed overall. Carvery should mean carvery and you lost a lot of business because of it. Such a shame as it has been good in the past.

User

The food wasn't very hot and when we ordered an Eton Mess pudding it came out as just cream and strawberries. When I took it back they said they had no meranguies so why accept the order?

It's a glorified fast food restaurant

User

Roast was excellent but I paid for my pudding and 2 kids ice creams yesterday and kids ate there ice cream and after 15 min kids got bored off waiting for mine to come out so I got my money back for my pud and left apparently they put mine in the bin!

Will go back though just won't order pud again!

User

I'm a regular here but have noticed over the last few visits that standards have dropped. Food is still good but the waiting staff with the exception of one or two are not good. There seems to be a lack of pride in what they do.

Also there are only three disabled parking spaces and on a previous visit I noticed that one of the staff was actually working on his car in one of the spaces. Come on the management of the Kings Arms sort these issues out, your better than that

User

Food was fine but the salt/pepper pots were empty went round a few tables but all the same empty ! Plus the tables were sticky not sure what they used to clean them with !!! .also there was older man sitting on the next table to us with just a vest on.i think he should have been told to cover up

User

We went on 3rd November. Well we ordered our starters and waited 40 mins for them, we had to chase them up. Some came out overcooked, my husband's deep fried brie came out and it was still solid and my mum's didn't come, so chased hers up. When her chicken coujons came out they were cold in the middle. We complained and got a apology and the starters refunded and free desserts. We all had carvery which was quite nice. There was another table that had problems too and were given money back too. It wasn't overly busy. But it's the first time we have been in about 6 months and by this visit we won't be going back anytime soon

User

We went for carvery but wasn't doing it due to a failure. Fair enough. So had burgers when the burgers came out where's the chips sorry we have stopped doing them we have put hash browns out instead. No

Disabled toilets was a mess

User

Visited today with my Father and was disgusted at the mess around tables. Tea towel's drying on a radiator dishcloths all over the place and amazed that unlike Toby carverys used in my area waiting staff don't actually wait apart from being scruffy and grumpy they don't even take your drink orders so a notice on the tables that you seat yaself at shud tell you to order and pay at bar . Having then done this the actual food on the counter was very nice and presented well although I noticed the chef just chucking fresh on top of old and not rotating correctly which is very lazy.

All in all food was adequate but service non existent.

Training is clearly lacking here and waitress not presentable and I would not be happy if I employed staff that have a lazy negative attitude.

Defiantly the worst Crown Carvery I have ever used !

User

Used to be a good place, went there today to have poor service and awful food, that was bone dry under lamps and soggy. Then to be served what I asked for 4 spoonfuls of ice cream because they apparently had no machine to do it yourself so when it came to the table I got 3 bowls of ice cream with one scoop in them each. A rocky road sundae thatвҖҷs suppose to be served with whipped cream and come to the table and said sorry no whipped cream and we cannot serve ice cream with this. Gone downhill. Plates were left on the table for a good 20 minutes, it wasnвҖҷt even busy. Staff standing around chatting and just looking into thin air. The Carvary used to be good here, since itвҖҷs been taken over itвҖҷs gone absolutely appalling. Burnt chicken and buns and had to get up to be told we had to get our own вҖҳsoggy dryвҖҷ chips. And asked for sauce ketchup & mayo which was just on the side with a spoon. No bottles. Things were way over cooked. Meat was dry. The staff donвҖҷt even know whatвҖҷs going on, disorganised and donвҖҷt look happy to be there at all, not even a smile. Got pointed at where to sit from the bar, not even shown to our table. Apart from that, drinks were good

User

Really gone down hill. Used to really like going here on a Sunday with my children. But been today and was very disappointed. Brought our drinks and carvery ticket only to notice all the empty tables were reserved. But not until 3.30! This was at midday. Potatoes really over cooked and meat very dry. No one asked if everything was ok. All in all not good now at all.

User

I must say i brought my daughter's for dinner 13th April and was very disappointed with the food. The beef was tough and couldn't be cut with the knives and very chewy, the turkey was dry, the potatoes were like cardboard and the gravy had been there so long it was lumpy and tasted burnt. I mentioned this to a member of staff and he would bring it to the managers attention when asked if he had spoken to the manager he said he apologizes for the meal. Normally the food is excellent but on this occasion the food had been under the heater for to long and wasn't enjoyable at all....Hopefully our next time there will be better and the food isn't the left over lunch food served in the evening.

User

13 in our party we prebooked at 7 pm on a Friday night they had run out of turkey , then had to wait for Yorkshire puddings , then dry stuffing , no mash burnt dry sausages , terrible waitor service leaning over people holding plates in peoples faces , couldn't even pass us a spoon had to throw it down on the table , clearly not happy in his work and despite advertising on the bar two extra cheesecakes they only had 1 slice of any left . Sort it out crown carvery new management shouldn't mean standards should drop!!!!

User

they served the starters before the meal, then the main corse was terrible the chicken was under cooked and bleeding!! the chips were really dry and horrible! The eggs were solid and really disgusting!! Wouldn't recommend to anyone bloody terrible!!!! Got pictures off the under cooked bleeding chicken aswell!!!!
