ABOUT TATU
TATU FAST Defence was first formed in September 2012, as a Self-Protection organisation. In September 2013, the company evolved into TATU Ltd when TATU Taekwon-do and TATU Training joined the ranks. The company was launched by 3rd degree Taekwondo instructor and FAST defence instructor Michael Turner.
The idea for TATU was to combine sport and traditional style martial arts, together with modern self-defence systems, to create a total self-defence and fitness company.
‘What does TATU stand for?’
Well once you see our chief instructor you might get an idea, but primarily it stands for Teaching the Art of Taekwon-do and Universal self-defence.
TATU TKD is an ITF (International Taekwon-do Federation) organisation affiliated with the Unified ITF. It follows the traditional style of Taekwon-do set down by our founder General Choi, while adopting modern aspects too. We also compete on a regular basis in local, national and world events.
TATU FAST Defence is training for total self-protection; we offer courses from Anti-Bullying for kids all the way through to female assault defence training and weapons defence. We pride ourselves on having the ONLY realistic scenario based training system in the world, using our fully trained instructors and the ‘Predator’ armour.
TATU Training is our personal training division. We offer everything from one2one martial arts training, strength and weight training, and general fitness work. We also have an in house sports therapist to deal with injury taping and assessments, rehabilitation programs and sports massage.
