Teesside Racing Car Club Description

Most of us have tried a remote controlled car of some sort at one time or another.

Here at TRCC we can take this to its highest level if you are good enough. But you do not have to be world class to enjoy this sport. We have all levels from beginners to world champions running in our race meetings.

Newcomers are welcome. If you have not raced before then come along and have a go. If you have raced before then why not come along on a Saturday evening and start enjoying yourself again.

I have started to re-vamp the club's web site. Keep a look at www.trcc.org.uk for updates.

After the questions asked at the AGM I have made some enquiries. They confirm what i said on Saturday. TRCC runs as a club affiliated to the BRCA and its constitution is based upon the BRCA's. The club requires everyone who uses the racing faciities to carry personal liability insurance, however obtained. The BRCA recognises all sorts of model car events, even if they do not have a specific section for classes that do not organise national events. That includes drifting amon...gst others and the insurance provided by BRCA membership fully covers all members who partake in drifting. The BRCA executive are currently looking into having a catch-all section for these "out-liers". If the drifting fraternity wish to put forward rules, events and particularly National Championships, then they could well get a section of their own. The BRCA insurance that comes with membership is the cheapest Personal Liability cover of which I am aware. If anyone has their own insurance cover then BRCA membership is not compulsory for racing at TRCC. However written proof must be shown when racing / requested.

Looks like we have found somewhere to move to. Sorting out the legal stuff. Is it big enough? Think of Skippers Lane and treble it. Go on Google maps street view to TS3 8AT. More news as we have it. Keep fingers crossed.

The 1st round of the NE off-road regional series was held on Sunday. It went better than had been expected but could have seen more drivers. A number of drivers who had raced the previous 3 Sundays were absent. We encourage all racers to become involved with the "larger" events. Generally the more the merrier. Don't think "I'm not good enough". If you race at club level you are good enough to race anywhere. Anyway. The regional was over a modified version of the tracks we had had been using over the last month. It had faster straights, more difficult jumps and a slippy hairpin that caused a lot of problems. Both 2 and 4WD classes were dominated by Craig Collinson (as usual) but there was close racing all the way down the heats, Full results can be seen at www.results.trcc.org.uk

TRCC has unfortunately not been assigned a 1/12th scale national this year. So instead we will be running a series of events between the National weekends. Dates to be confirmed but generally the Saturday before the National. All LMP12 classes will be catered for alongside normal club racing. Pre-booking advised but not essential. More details later.
