Can you help with the set up of the Folk Festival Craft Fair. Help needed during the arrival of the stallholders/directing stalls to their place in the marquee on the Recreation Ground on Friday 5th Oct afternoon between 1 pm and 5pm, but more importantly Saturday 6th Oct morning 7am-10am. The Tenterden Folk Festival Craft Fair is on Saturday & Sunday only (the Folk Festival runs Thurs-Sun) https://www.mytenterden.co.uk/…/tenterd en-folk-festival-cra… here are some of Lewis Brockway's photos from last year's craft fair

We spent a wonderful sunny afternoon in Tenterden - in and out of antique or designer shops and of course topped off with a cream tea for two !! Ron and Debi (Vermont USA)

We now are so fortunate to have the most incredible tailoring and alterations lovely man in Tenterden!! He is just what our town needed! I have been astounded at his work, I have had a Moschino designer dress made a size larger , JOSEPH skirt and dress made a size smaller and I was speechless as you would never know they had been altered, the man is a genius! I’ve also had skirts , trousers and a very complicated job on a pair of VB shorts ! His name is Hamid , 11 Sayer’s Lane, Tenterden, TN30 6B W . Tel 01580 389071 , mobile 07476 473054 . His show room is near Waitrose.

We love coming to visit my parents whenever we can. Tenterden is so lovely all year round. As soon as we arrive, we relax. The Lemon Tree is our favourite place to stop for food.

Christmas market was a little disappointing this year sadly.

We have just been in a cottage not far from here and we did our shopping at Tesco’s. We walked up and down the high street to see what shops there was and some lovely shops, cafes. Lovely place and everyone so friendly would love to return some day lots of dog shops you can wander around and some fabulous eating places definetly recommended lovely place x

We had a Lovely day yesterday, so many stalls with lovely stuff to buy, had a lovely welcome in the church while the kids made some christmas decorations and all the shops very welcoming to us all

Walkable town with a wide High Street with an interesting array of buildings of all styles and ages and sidewalks set back and separated from it for much of its length by lawns and trees. Tenterden Fish Bar just off High Street on Station Street is the place to go for eat in or take out fish, chips and mushy peas. Lots of shops and cafes. Waitrose and Tesco stores. Peaceful church just off High Street. Ellen Terry's house not far away.

Tenterden never diappoints especially at Christmas. The lovely little independent shops were full of sparkly things including in some cases a free glass of fizz and a mince pie. Carol singers were excellent and the stalls were full of tasteful artisan fare. Had a lovely afternoon.

My wife and I visit Tenterden 3 or 4 times a year. It is a beautiful town, it has a peaceful atmosphere and the people are very friendly.

We like to potter around, have a look in the various shops and have a meal somewhere.

We love this town!

My old home town. I was born at Kench Hill Nursing Home in 1948 and lived in Tenterden until 1971 when I emigrated to Australia. When I was living there, there wasn't much to do and I longed to get away. How times change!! I now love it when I return on holiday.

User

My Nan & Grandad lived in Tenterden for many years & I spent most of my school holidays there. I used to love playing on the rec. Lovely picturesque place, I especially loved going to the farm to buy fresh eggs or travelling down to Rolvedon on the steam railway or having a cream tea in the Tudor Rose in Tenterden High Street but the one thing I loved most of all was seeing & hearing the baby lambs with their Mothers from Nan's bedroom window in the Spring

User

What a pity that some greedy developers cant take no for an answer. They are determined to spoil our beautiful town by building ugly and unnecessary eyesores .

. The latest attempt to overcome a previous refusal to develop is the carwash site on Recreation Ground rd. Odd how the carwas is a registered charity but the application is made on behalf of the brothers grimm.

Look at the architects webb site for a picture of what the development would look like. Totally ugly and not in keeping with the surroundings.

Lovely little quirky town! Play park is great! Lots for the kids to do. My two boys love it. They also love the swimming there, as so do I.

User

I was there only for the evening but from what I saw, this is really a beautiful place to spend time in. I wouldn't hesitate to go and spend more time there. Worth a visit indeed. Several fabulous eating places. Co there...you won't be sorry.

User
