What an amazing pub and live music venue, the staff and customers could not do enough for us, they helped carry gear in and out, their appreciation was second to none, never met a more enthusiastic landlord ever and a right nice bloke, his right hand man is the same, such a friendly atmosphere, wish it was my local, sorry I could only give it five star this one deserves a Plus at the end !!!!

We held my dad's wake here on 25/11/16 and the service was fantastic. The staff made a very difficult day easier and nothing was too much trouble. Paul was fantastic and we all had a brilliant time with the kareoke. Thanks so much! Xx

Was in last night for the karaoke had a great laugh staff are great customers crazy lol was only going out for a few but ended up in all night thanks Paul staff and regulars xxx definitely will be back xxx

Spent yesterday evening at The Bold Privateer with my son and his band O.C.D. In over 5 years of gigging we've been to some brilliant pubs and clubs and this is up there with the best of them. Great staff and customers who were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. Thanks for a fabulous night and look forward to coming back again soon.

Can't believe how much the priv has changed! This was my haunt a good 20 years ago!!! Changed for the better...although a bit sad to see the snug gone �...lovely place and friendly staff..made my uncles funeral a lovely send off...Thank you xxx

Not a bad boozer & friendly staff.. Seems to be a good music venue as well..Deffo recommend it to anyone

Nor sure why there was a reserved table sign in a free house .. we was told by a member of staff it was for people who were watching the band.. well hell ye that's what we were there for . Anyway we was finally asked to move subsequently the large table area we were was sitting on was filled by only 3 people
