We turned up at lunchtime hoping there was a table for two available. Very friendly and polite man said we could wait at the bar as restaurant was full and we could eat in bar. Couple of minutes later he said there was a table available in the restaurant. Great service , food was lovely we had the carvery followed by crumble and coffee. It was all very tasty. Very impressed as have not been here for a while and last time food was only so so, massive improvement. Thank you

We held our twins christening party at the Chairmakers on Sunday 9th July and we had the marquee for it which was perfect! We had so much space and the ourdoor area was ideal for all the children we had there. We had an afternoon tea style and had so many comments about how amazing the food was. Thank you!!

User

The staff are very friendly and you get a warm welcome? excellent meals and various beers good value for money

User

Tend to visit this pub on a sunny afternoon to sit outside in a country setting. Had some lovely bloomer sandwiches with a side salad and triple cooked chips, couple of pints of lager shandy for a chilled out afternoon meal. Staff were young, friendly, good mannered and will keep going back.

User

Such a warm friendly local pub. The manager is one of the best I've met and his staff are equally good, all very polite and attentive. This pub will make your experience 5*, if you haven't visited make sure you do.

User

Not been to the Chairmakers for quite Few years, but a friend told us that they did a lovely Carvery so we thought we'd give it a try! We sure are glad we did, I booked on the Tuesday before for 20 of us and they didn't even hesitate to accommodate us! The food was delicious with a good selection, most of us had the carvery and we can't wait to go back!!! The meat was delicious and a good selection of veg to choose from. Great service too

User

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal last night, service was excellent, food was super, I would recommend the chairmakers,

User

I love this pub! My hubby and I often rock up there for a Sunday carvery when we can't be bothered to cook and we're never disappointed!

It is very clean, service can't be faulted and is excellent value for money.

My daughter booked it for Mother's Day as she knows we recommend it, for eight adults and two children and the service was still excellent as was the food, despite being one of their busiest days of the year. Not just the carvery but some of us chose from the menu and were not disappointed.

Cannot recommend highly enough

User

I have eaten before at the Chairmakers. I visit my sister and we always come a meal . We had a nice meal very enjoy abe Staff are always nice too 👏👏👏

User

I had my 40th birthday party at the chairmakers last night and it was brilliant. Staff are amazing and so helpful in setting up stuff and making it all run smoothly. The buffet was very tasty too. Love this pub x

User

I chose The Chairmakers for a family get-together,(10 of us). I was given a large square table rather than a long one which makes conversation easier. We were also offered all but our own private room. We had a really comfortable evening with 2 very attentive waiters and excellent food. Thank you all for a great evening. Will certainly book again .

Great food, great service, very friendly atmosphere 👍👍👍👍

After some lovely summer evenings spent in the pub garden we thought it was the perfect setting for a wedding reception. How right we were. Last Friday Mike and his staff laid on the most fantastic food and service any bride and groom could wish for. So organised, so discrete and so helpful. We had the best time ever thanks to Mike ( and Edwina) .

User

A really nice country pub, the staff could smile a bit more but are polite and attentive. I ordered the steak which was over price for the cut. It was full of fat and was so chewy I had to send it back. The staff took it off the bill without question! All the other adults had carvery and said it was delicious. The children's menu portions were on the small side but clean plates all round.

User

This is usually my favourite carvery, however today was possibly the worst meal I've ever had, the pork was fatty, the veg undercooked and dry, the potatoes soggy, how could it have changed so much? Apparently a new chef, well unfortunately I won't be returning for a repeat performance.

User

Took my Mum for impromptu lunch. Wish I hadn't bothered. Staff barely bothered to serve us. Ordered smoked salmon niçoise salad. Poor presentation, bagged salad leaves wilted and wet, new potatoes rock hard and ice cold and no dressing offered and none available. Ordered coffees to follow and again very disappointed. Looked and tasted like dish water ... will not return!

User

Thought it would be nice to have an impromptu meal whilst visiting family and treat... unfortunately a big mistake. The smell inside was off putting, the walls outside of the kids play room were drawn all over them. The food; I thought I’d go safe with macaroni cheese but it was totally tasteless.. we also ordered the mushroom and spinach lasagne which was inedible and looked horrendous... we had a chickpea burger that was rock hard and cold and sausage and mash that was tasteless and sausages weren’t even browned all the way round. Overall very disappointing. No one asked how our meal was. We had to call the waitress over who in fairness was apologetic when we told her we weren’t happy with any of it. One and only bonus was there was no argument to have the food taken off the bill. It must be incredibly embarrassing working as a waiter here and unless there was a vast improvement/upgrade of standards we will never go here again.

User

I had the pie which was very expensive, the pastry was rock hard and the beef inside was hard, chewy and dry, no flavour. The best bit was the cabbage!! The staff were not interested, didn't do a check back and took ages to clear the plates, was more interested in her laptop!
