Went here to celebrate my birthday with girlfriends and I couldn't fault it, amazing food, exceptional service and friendly staff - would recommend to everyone!

User

Well this is my first time which seems criminal since I only live at Hindhead and WOW!! I've not stopped talking about the place since Saturday night. Staff are brilliant and the food is just incredible!! I cannot wait to go back!!

User

We were recommended this pub by a friend and we were not disappointed. Wow. The Sunday lunch was amazing! Four of us shared the been Sunday roast on a platter and we were in food heaven. Book early to get a space mind you! There was a long waiting list. We also loved the pub itself with a quirky mix of old and new, not to mention fabulous outside spaces and views across Surrey!

User

Various seating areas outside make it easy to find a table there to enjoy the sunshine (even on a very hot bank holiday Monday). Customer service is very good with friendly and very efficient. The food was served quickly; it was excellent quality. I found the chocolate fondant exceptional: very dark chocolate taste, barely sweet, which is how I like it being an amateur of 85% cacao chocolate. Every dish was tempting on the menu and it was difficult to choose. Portions are ideal (i.e. decent but not too much either). Quality is top. Really worth the journey from Guildford!

User

This was our second visit to The Duke of Cumberland Arms. And we very impressed once again. Fabulous food and excellent service. We would highly recommend this pub for all the above and the very pretty views surrounding it.

User

Thank you for a absolutely fantastic wedding reception yesterday for the newlyweds yesterday, Mr and Mrs Hopkins. The welcome was wonderful, the food was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. The setting is beyond perfect! Well done to all the staff, you were all awesome!! I will be back soon. : )

User

Not too easy to find if you don't know the area, but you won't be disappointed when you arrive. Really warm welcome upon arrival and shown straight to our table. We booked a few months in advance to guarantee a table on a Sunday lunchtime. They bring your chosen roast to your table for you to carve yourself,Just how you like it. Food was excellent and not over priced which some gastro pubs tend to do. Overall the service,Food and value for money was excellent. And to top it off the log fire in the bar where we ate was roaring. Cosy pub with a really good atmosphere.

User

Lovely food and great staff. Will be returning.

User

Incredible pub run by amazing people! I called in for a quick pint on my way back to my nearby accommodation but I only had my card on me and it's a 10 pound minimum spend and as I could only have one because I was driving the bar staff who I'd never met before bought me a pint!!! Absolutely top notch, Emma and Tara are legends!!! ’┐Į

User

I stumbled across this place whilst working a few miles away and looking for a pub lunch. It is difficult to find but well worth the effort. The good is superb, and the pub and garden charming - you almost miss it driving through the village. Wi definitely come back

User

Great pub tucked away in lovely little village. Superb food and good staff

User

Gorgeous oldey English pub. With great food, very friendly staff and really nice tasting beer. The one with champagne mentioned in it! Would love to come again, very soon.

User

Fantastic Sunday roast, this place is all about the quality of the food. This peaceful location has majestic views, a freshwater fish pond and an owner/chef in Simon Goodman that doesn't compromise on quality. This place combines quantity as well as many of the patrons left with doggy bags of their leftover joints of meat that is cooked fresh for lunchtime. Not brilliantly catering for younger people and toddlers and I saw no evidence of disabled access however when you are in nothing seems to be much trouble for them. We have two small children and they were able to put together a children's meal and that was pretty special too! Book early, expect an above average bill but it's well worth it for the experience.

User

As a self certified lover of seriously good food and all round greedy bugger I have to say that this pub is probably the best place to eat I have visited for as long as I can remember .

The food is simply bloody marvellous, the staff are very welcoming and friendly, the pub itself is what I would call a proper pub with none of the ghastly theme pub bullshit that one often finds and what's more there is Hip Hop on tap!

Thank you very very much again for a smashing evening.

A very merry Christmas to all at the Duke of Cumberland Arms.

User

Very welcoming on arrival as we were quite early in the pub day.....took us out at the back to appreciate the view and to await our self-carve lunch of leg of lamb which was put at our table and we were called.......lovely roast lamb with crispy roast and plenty of assorted vegetables...well worth a try.....although I must say they seem understaffed as we had to wait quite a while for anyone to come and clear and bring our sweet menus......which we did not mind at all but other people may not have the same view

User

Lovely pub , the garden has fantastic views looking North towards Black Down and the North Downs . Didn't eat but the food looks great ....... Well worth a visit in a sunny day

User

Absolutely gorgeous setting, I really liked the little hut outside with the open fire, it was the perfect shelter, couldŌĆÖve quite happily stayed in there, the restaurant is really nice, welcoming, comfortable, quite rustic... I had the steak and it was delicious, really delicious!!! My girlfriend however requested a vegetarian menu and was offered two options (bit odd), she chose a vegetable pasta which she didnŌĆÖt like, I tried it too and I agreed with her, it wasnŌĆÖt great.. it was cooked well but tasted like it could have come from a jar ¤żĘ¤Å╝ŌĆŹŌÖé’ĖÅ IŌĆÖm sure it didnŌĆÖt but was really sweet... it wouldnŌĆÖt stop us returning... one more annoying thing was the stupid woman who was blocking the road on our way home, if youŌĆÖre reading this lady, stop driving, you canŌĆÖt!!

User

We came to the duke and unfortunately the food was not really up to the usual high standards. My husband had the fish & chips and the batter & chips were very greasy and quite unpleasant. I had the pork wrap & a side of chips and again I have to agree with my husband with regards to the chips they were not very nice. We LOVE the duke and often stop for a tipple & to enjoy the views.

Will come back again soon but on the food front we were disappointed ¤śö

User

Still smarting having arrived for a special lunch booking to be told it wasnŌĆÖt on record. Was treated very shabbily, dismissed with no regret. I remember specifically making the booking, providing our telephone number and repeating the details ... anyone who knows me ...

The Halfway Bridge was full too, but nevertheless the staff cleared their games table and accommodated us without hesitation.
