Evening folks, just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has been ordering online. It really makes such an enormous difference and we love that we can still share the books that we are so passionate about with you. * We know that there are concerns about how businesses can operate while maintaining social distancing so we thought we’d let you know what practices we’ve put in place. The only person working in the shop is Ruth - which is also where she lives so no tr...avelling required! All the parcels are prepared by her, and then she does one delivery round per day dropping them off (with contactless delivery) by bike. This also happens to be her daily exercise 🚲☺️. All deliveries outside Brighton and Hove are via Royal Mail - paid for online and dropped in the post box by the shop. * Hope that’s useful and do feel free to send us an email if you’ve any questions. It is with a heavy heart that we’ve taken the decision to close The Feminist Bookshop from today.
An enormous thank you to all our incredible customers who have been visiting us in store and online. We so appreciate your support and enthusiasm for what we are seeking to build here with the bookshop.
We very much intend to open our doors again as soon as the crisis is over. In the meantime we will continue to accept orders online and by email and offer free local delivery. If ...you are able to support us that way it would be enormously appreciated.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible Mamas out there ❤️❤️❤️ - In these testing times you are all the more appreciated for your incredible strength, love and kindness. - Mama Miti is all about one such amazing woman, Wangari Muta Maathai, the first African woman to win the Nobel peace prize. Among the awe inspiring things she did was starting the Green Belt Movement in Kenya. Hi everyone, we hope you are all keeping safe and well.
To give you a quick update on where we stand at the bookshop: for now we will remain open as usual for book purchases.
We will however be offering take away only on cafe items and closing the reading room downstairs.

We are very sad to announce that for the time being we will be suspending events running out of The Feminist Bookshop.
Full refunds have been issued to ticket holders for events in March and we will monitor the situation and determine for the approach for April soon.
In the meantime the shop will be open as usual and we will keep you updated if anything changes.

We will be offering free delivery to anyone in the BN1, BN2 and BN3 postcodes so if you are staying indoors but would like and are able to support us during this time please do check out our website.
