So this year the Fox Goes Free has gone very Swedish and invited Agnetha & Anni-Frid to bring out the Dancing Queen and Gimme Gimme Gimme a fantastic night of Voulez -vous. The bar will open at 7.30pm and last orders will be around 2am. The evening will be hosted by your favourite staff as ever who will be fully kitted out and totally Fernandoed. Our very own Abba loving Chef Lionel has created a sumptuous menu which is more Ala carte and less Smörgåsbord bet but every bit t...he name of the game. Tables are going fast so knowing me knowing you don’t want to hang back and make sure you ring ring!! Fancy dress is optional but wouldn't you rather be more Super trooper and have a chance of winning best dressed for the occasion with a bottle of house champagne. Remember the winner takes it all!! The bar and music is open to all so take a chance on one mamma mia of an evening. So until then Hasta Manana and make sure your mother knows.

Went for lunch yesterday. Stunning setting with a gorgeous beer garden backing onto fields where all can be heard is the birds singing. The kitchen make a lush Sausage & Mash dish with seasonal veg...I’d return just for those sausages! All the team are friendly and the service is A1. Superb value too. Cheers! 👍🏻☀️🥂

The pub itself is perfect with 2 open fires and a great selection of ales, gin and food (the menu looks great), plus the views of the Downs are stunning. Photo to follow.

User

Only heard good things about this place, so decided to try it out. 110% delivered!!! Amazing food, one of the most beautiful beer gardens I’ve sat in and the staff where spot on with everything! Might be returning as soon as tomorrow with the in-laws.

User

Lovely country pub recommended by my daughter a student at Chichester university. The sharing baked Camembert was ample for 3 and mains were equally as good. A good selection of wines and craft ales.

User

I come from the city and just loved the open view the beer garden had. Home brew cold cider was spot on as well

User

Great food, lovely beer and wonderful staff, all in a stunning setting, who could want for more. We’ll be back it’s on my list of favourite places now.

User

User

Fantastic food with fantastic service every time we go here. Can not fault anything, keep it up!

User

Fabulous food, lovely staff and garden..only problem is it's so popular you are lucky to get in!

User

Cute and cosy country pub with lovely food. The restaurant staff were very attentive and the service was very quick even though the pub was full and it was a saturday night. The food was very nice and the menu was varied. Plenty of vegetarian options and the prices were not excessive. Would love to come back on a winters night and sit and have a cosy drink by the log fire. Would highly recommend.

User

Absolutely lovely pub, stunning location and amazing service from all the staff.

We stayed at the pub for a long weekend for Goodwood Festival of Speed and despite being busy, the staff were all very friendly, attentive and happy to help.

The rooms were perfect and the food was absolutely delicious (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The location of the pub is perfect for anyone visiting Glorious Goodwood or Goodwood Revival / Festival of Speed. Great pub garden with a new patio, pretty fairy lights and the best view looking out over the countryside.

Perfect weekend - couldn’t recommend the pub enough and can’t wait to come and stay again soon!

User

Absolutely great place! We stopped by for the Festival of speed, had a nice dinner and stay over. Outdoor space and view are excellent!!!

User

Went for a Sunday roast to celebrate a family birthday. Lovely welcoming pub, good atmosphere, attentive staff. The food overall was very good, the only reason I didn’t rate it 5* is because those of us who had beef found it a bit on the tough side. Would vertatgo again

User

The car park was full when we arrived so parked in the over flow which was also full. When we entered there was not much room. We had heard it was very popular. Hence this is lunch time. I cannot fault the service from start to finish excellent. The only draw back was the fires were alight and it was warm outside. All staff were extremely polite. We shall be returning.

It's one of those unfortunate things that sometimes if something is built up too much in advance it may not live up to expectations. That is the reason I cannot give five stars - everything was good but not exceptional which I had been lead to believe by reputation. Staff, location, menu and presentation all very good but I did not get that enthused about it all. Most memorable and delightfully incongruous moment was when an older chap came into the dining room to sell and then announce the results of the "meat Raffle" ( alas I did not win and had to go vegetarian for the rest of the weekend ). I think you should give it a go!

User

It was my birthday meal. Went yesterday (Sunday) Disappointed to find out that the menu is pared down on Sunday evening because they do roast meats.

Pub was busy last night and the service was a bit slow but the staff were friendly.

One big criticism is that the car park is very dark. If any member of staff reads this, you need to put lights in your car park. The ground is uneven and there's an accident waiting to happen!

User

Lovely surroundings and beautiful building with wonderful pub garden. Great menu, if not a little pricey vs portion/quality but still a nice meal out. Only less than positive observation was staff and service. Not particularly fast or attentive nor over friendly - need to be a little more organised. Bar staff very slow. However would still come back.
