This is almost heaven for me, a restaurant with locally sourced ingredients in the midst of a building full of wonderful food stores.
The menu wasnt huge but it had a great selection of interesting flavours. One had duck liver the other had a venison black pudding burger with astonishingly tasty clove flavoured red cabbage. Their use of flavours is great and fascinating.
Mains were partridge and grouse, my only complaint was that the crisp roast potatoes weren’t that crisp, but were well cooked and flavoured.
Desserts were also superb, goats cheesecake and a poached pear dessert.
Food is very well flavoured, interesting takes on flavours and well presented too.
Staff are enthusiastic and efficient, chef was great to chat to as he clearly has a serious passion for his food. Loved the soft drinks too.
To have all of this in the midst of small specialist shopping outlets selling high quality food is about as good as it gets, caution, if you go on a busy day it’s car park isn’t that big
Clean well sized toilets too.
What’s not to like?
Great trip guys well worth the 175 mile round trip!
Lovely little place my kids love it also very good for people who going less plastic or cutting down on waste get my milk bread fruit veg and other bits
Loved everything about this place, felt like I was in a market in South of France and then the food in the restaurant was fab!
It’s the in place to snack at lunchtime or buy your organic shopping great fish and meat stalls, It isn’t cheap but the quality is first class.
I had a great brunch there as breakfast stops at 10:30 I think, there is a dedicated salad bar and a sandwich bar.
