We dropped in for a drink yesterday and the welcome was very warm. We had already eaten too much that day so decided to call in today for an evening meal. Different staff but the welcome was just as warm and friendly and the food was simple but nicely presented and tasty. The beer and wine is reasonably priced and very good. If I lived nearby it would be my local!

User

The staff were friendly & helpful. Good range on the menu and the food was excellent. There was live entertainment which was also good.

User

Stayed here in February and had a brilliant time. Room was clean, modern and very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. We were in Warkworth for the day on Easter Monday and decided to have lunch here - best decision of the day! We opted for the carvery and it was delicious - 2 generous slices of meat, HUGE Yorkshire puddings and beautiful fresh veg. Desserts were amazing too. Can't recommend The Hermitage highly enough and we will definitely be return customers for a long time to come.

User

One of our favourite pubs on the Northumberland Coast. The food is excellent and good value. The staff are very friendly and welcoming both with the customers and their furry friends. The latter being greeted with a lovely doggy biscuit or two. Oh, did I mention they serve a good pint of ale too!!

User

Lovely pub with log burner, cosy, and welcoming. So dog friendly. I highly recommend there Sunday Dinners, a choice of two meats from turkey, pork, or beef. They don't stint on meat portions, you can help your self to as much or as little, mash potatoes, turnip, carrots, cabbage, roast pots, and home made yorkshire, and sauces, all home made too. What I like is that you have your gravey boat, nothing off putting then seeing your meal swimming in gravey. Good value.

User

Lovely pub great meal. Very pleasant staff. Well worth a visit. Very good value.

User

Lovely friendly staff, food was tasty and good portion sizes. We were too full to try a pudding but will definitely try the tea and scones if we are in the area again

User

For 44 years I’ve been using the Hermitage for food and drink. Many Land lords have come and gone, but in my opinion Lawrence and Jan are so nice. All the staff are well turned out and very helpful. As for the food excellent my plate always goes back clean.

Friday night is a must free entertainment, so head on down for a good night out .

User

Excellent night at the hermitage inn last night. Lovely food. Great room and great staff

User

After walking from Amble this was an obvious choice for a light lunch and a beer. Nice friendly staff and a good choice of food and drinks. The sandwiches and chips were delicious, accompanied by a some well kept Jennings beer. Just the job!

User

Absolutely fab pub! Remember the days when pub landlords and bar staff remembered you and welcomed you with a smile and a chat every time you walked through the door?.....well they still do here :)...it's just a great place to be!

User

We've been coming to this pub regularly for meals for years . Dad likes it! We booked and turned up just after Christmas. The place was very cold. I asked for the heating to be turned up and said my Dad was almost 90 and felt the cold. I couldn't take my coat off! I was told none of the radiators were working

The heating was eventually turned on, but we didn't have a very good experience

I advised the Inn and Jan, the landlord asked me to try again. We went back today. What a difference. The place was warm, and so were the staff. The food was very tasty and the experience was so much better. We'll be back! It isn't good to have a bad time, but it's very very good when people listen to you and put things right

Well done to all at the Hermitage Inn

User

Nice spot, nice Inn. My wife had a roast lunch and really enjoyed it.

I went for the Irish stew with slow cooked lamb and guineas gravy. It wasn't great, more a vegetable soup, stock not gravy, I doubt it had seen a guineas bottle never mind any in, as for the lamb, pieces about 6mm square and very little in.

I thought at first they had put vegetable soup down, half the price, but spotted the little chunks of lamb.

It was tasty however, the service was great and a really friendly pub. Hence 4 stars.

User

Nice friendly welcome, good beer, extensive menu, fair pricing, unfortunately no beer garden, but I have happily sat on the front benches in the afternoon sun watching the world pass by. All in all, most things a pub should be, and no reason not to visit. Enjoy.

User

Nice friendly staff and great atmosphere! Food was wonderful and the service top drawer! Would definitely recommend a visit

User

Me and my Wife ate here with our 4 month old daughter, the staff were very accommodating and found us a table with plenty of room for the buggy. The food was very nice and there's a good selection of real ales.

User

It’s a great little local pub and dog friendly to the right of the pub. Can be very busy Friday and Saturday evening so bare that in mind if you need to go with your four legged friend

The food is very good so would recommend an evening visit for sure
