We were made to feel so special, staff were very attentive, food was gorgeous! The decor is fabulous! Canât wait to go back. Thank you for helping us make our Ruby wedding anniversary so memorable.
We booked a table only 2 hour before going and didnât expect a greet table, when we arrived we were seated in the conservatory area which we were delighted with, then the automatic roof can back and we felt like we were sat outside, it was absolutely perfect, we couldnât have asked for a better table on a hot summers evening. Fantastic meal, lovely surroundings, very friendly and helpful staff, will definitely go back.
Thank you for such a lovely evening in beautiful surroundings with our table for two in your pretty garden. We had great service, delicious food and I very much appreciate you accommodating my dietary requirements. We look forward to returning soon
Our friends had booked with you for breakfast on bank holiday Monday. Had a table outside in the sunshine and the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. The decor was beautiful and the courtyard was very pretty. Service was excellent. Would love to come again when we visit our friends next time.
I had a lovely time at The Ivy, there was a mix up on our booking but they where able to fit onus in which was great. the drinks took a while to come to us but the waiter was really good and very attentive. our food was really good. I would definitely recommend anyone coming here, but please book in advance and confirm your booking upon arrival.
Great, wasnât overly keen on the goats cheese starter but the duck curry main was out of this world, wine fantastic. Highly recommend, looking forward to my next meal here (duck curry again without a doubt).
Very attentive staff, just a pity it took about 1hr between starter and mains to arrive. When it did it didnât disappoint!Very nice food. Toilets on the 65th floor was a bit of a trek tho!
We went for my husbands birthday I booked 2 months ago and specifically asked not to be put at the back in the conservatory as I know it lacks astmosphere and either you roast due to the patio heater or freeze and need a blanket ( and the tables you are seated at are small patio tables ) as itâs a Saturday evening out for my husbands birthday we didnât want to do either . We were allocated a table in the conservatory and it took some uncomfortable conservations with 3 different people to reallocate us inside the restaurant. Around us other people were also complaining because of the temperature/ poor light etc . So the evening was tainted by the first 20 minutes . I donât understand why this time of year the conservatory is open in the evenings the experience in there is very different from the main restaurant you really feel like you are eating in a different place and it isnât good bearing in mind the overall cost you pay . We wonât be hurrying back .
Staff were all pleasant and friendly and service was pretty good. My main complaint is the seating. Seems that whoever designed the decor was trying way too hard to be eclectic to actually think of the people that were going to be dining there.
The first table we were given looked ok, but as we all got settled it was clear it wasnât going to work. A banquette sofa with too much depth meant that my wife and daughter werenât comfy and my wrought iron chair was way too tall for the table.
We asked to be moved, and to their credit, they moved us to another table fairly swiftly. With two decent chairs and another sofa it was better but still not ideal.
Not the best meal we have had. Starters and main arrived too quickly, making us feel that they wanted to churn the table, which was baffling due to the place being about 1/3 empty (being generous here!). I must admit that my starter was absolutely sublime (Scallops - oh yes!) which clearly left me anticipating more of the same for the main course. My partners starter was, whilst tasty, was not to her expectation, but weâll forgive that as you takes your choice and pays the price. Sadly, both our mains were decidedly uninspiring, too much seasoning or not enough, suffice it to say, whilst not being restaurant snobs (hopefully) found the experience ever so âslightlyâ disappointing - enhanced(!) by the fact that it was my partners birthday evening!
Had heard great things about this place but sadly we did not benefit from its reputation. Iâm hoping that things will change and that our next visit, when and if, is much more palatable!
Good to mediocre. We were given a bad table - why stick a table right beside a service station. Service a bit slow though polite. I ordered linguine with crab. It tasted good but small portion. Expensive for what it is. Overly trading on Ivy name.
Came for drinks only. Have eaten here before and itâs been wonderful. Came for drinks on Saturday night and was told that everyone at the bar area had to be seated and if no seats were available then we couldnât come in for a drink. Very poor. We were also meeting 4 others who arrived shortly after we did and there were four seats free. We were told they were reserved so we just stood at the bar and it seemed to be ok. Had some drinks and then left as we had dinner reservations elsewhere. Good experience but strange about bar etiquette. Otherwise good place.
The food was ok but the service was poor. The waiter cleared mine and my daughters plates away whilst my husband was still eating (a pet hate of mine). I was prepared to let that go but he then brought us the dessert menus, I guess he assumed my husband didnât want dessert. I wonât rush back, which is a shame as I had a really enjoyable experience last October when I went with friends.
Sadly not a great experience- went with two girlfriends for breakfast, lovely setting, but not impressed with the following - dirty cup, asked for skim milk for tea was given hot frothy milk, asked for my poached eggs to have firm white but runny yolks, came out like hard boiled eggs, replaced and this time whites runny too. Asked for a very hot cappuccino, it was luke warm. My friend had a cheese omelette which had very little cheese in. Really disappointed as this was a birthday celebration .
My cod was watery and my chips soggy so disappointed ďż˝ my birthday meal wasnât great . I had already had the blackened cod dish in Covent Garden ivy and it was ďż˝
1st visit to Marlow and really disappointed with food.
Setting was beautiful .
Lovely setting , good food , terrible service . I was asked if we wanted water and said yes , nothing arrived, they took our drinks order , only one drink arrived , still no water , asked where the other drink was and the water , the water arrived , still no drink , that arrived 5 mins later , I then asked for a glass of wine , this didnât arrive at all , asked for the bill , it was on the bill , they removed it from the bill and apologised . I paid and we left .
Had lunch here and had a minute portion of crab linguine for ÂŁ16 and my husband got the wrong dish (but they did take it off the bill and was very apologetic) .a bit slow on the serving drinks and a bit chaotic. Probably wouldnât go back and go to Zizzi down the road instead for half the price and bigger portion. But a very pleasant restaurant and staff.
Food was amazing. Service below par. We were asked to leave our table before we had even finished our drinks, not even offered dessert. There were plenty of tables available. We spent over ÂŁ200 on lunch and were prepared to spend a lot more on drinks until we were turfed from our table. We went back a few hours later to have some drinks at the bar and were told there was no room. So overall a very disappointing experience. We spent our money down the road at the very welcoming Marlow Bar & Grill.
Had an awful experience here last weekend. We were really disappointed in the service received during our afternoon tea. No one came over to clear the plates, teapots, cups etc, it was still scattered all over the table when we left. Our drinks were never topped up. When someone did come over and ask if we wanted more teas/coffees we waited 25 minutes and it didn't materialise. We expressed our concern to a member of staff who proceeded to gossip about it with his colleagues with no regard for the issue we had flagged. Appalling behaviour and would definitely not recommend The Ivy Marlow Garden. As we left we again expressed concern and they promised a manager would call. It is now Wednesday evening and no contact has been made.
