my wife and I just returned from a short stay. The rooms are well appointed, with all you require, including a much needed fan. Shower pressure was disappointing (room 8) and this needs looking into.

The reason for the 5 star review is that the staff were on top of their game, professional yet very friendly. Something a lot of hotel restaurants fail to understand.

The food appeared a little over priced at first but the quality of ingredients and presentation was exceptional. The highlight was breakfast and you would need to go a long way to better it. Very impressed all round, just sort the shower out.

What an incredible stay. Booked in following a stay at the Centre Parcs Spa, feeling a bit down as our trip was almost over. Should not have worried as our welcome from all the staff was fabulous! Food was some of the best ever tasted, rump steak rare to perfection. Wine list amazing. Room compact and bijoux but beautiful and breakfast delicious too. Very highly recommended and a big thank you to Matt, Steven and Sam for a wonderful stay.

The Paulerspury Section of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club held our annual committe dinner here on Saturday.

The private room was superb, the food was lovely and the service was excellent!

The entire staff are young, headed by manager Katie but the service provided was first class, a testimony to their training I guess.

When waiting for drinks at the bar, and not for long I might add, the bar man knew better than I who was having what! Seldom seen is an attitude and responsibility like that in any bar person. Fantastic!

Would we go back? What do you think?

If you haven't been there, go there. You might just bump in to some of us.

Andrew Coath and partners, these youngsters do you proud. It would be good to see you again sometime.

User

Lovely place. Had a great meal which was by no means your usual pub grub. Delicious food which was very well presented, by friendly and attentive staff. Nice, quiet, comfortable room and a good menu choice for breakfast. Would definitely recommend

User

Lovely Sunday lunch with friends, highly recommend, staff were very welcoming and with a small baby..

User

Impressed at the professionalism, politeness & friendliness of some very young staff.

Food was superb, wine was full-bodied; what more could you want?

User

I had my son’s christening party here, very accommodating, good communication while organising the event and excellent food!!

User

Good room, good food, good beer in a really nice setting, all at a reasonable price..... A great little find for overnight stays on business, away from the hustle and bustle. stop being fooled folks, places like this are much cheaper than premier Inn and much better than premier Inn.

User

Decent room and reasonably priced, absolutely sublime Burrata pizza, but what was lovely was the staff - friendly, enthusiastic, nothing too much trouble. Best veggie breakfast experience ever - lady just said - "-tell me exactly what you'd like, we'll sort it out."

Certainly made a dull Monday night work stop-over a lot more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

User

Another great meal with friendly service and atmosphere. We booked a large party booking (32) yesterday and the staff could not be more accommodating. The food was amazing and we will definitely be back. Thanks again.

Amazing food and wonderful staff! Our favourite place

User

Absolutely loved it here. We stayed for one evening for our wedding anniversary. The staff were so friendly and helpful from when to arrived to when we left.

We booked a table for dinner that night and it was made very pretty for us.

Food was absolutely fantastic and we'll worth every penny.

Breakfast was just as fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place to eat and to stay. Very impressed.

We stayed one night at the Knife and Cleaver and pleased to report the staff were lovely, the room was very well presented, clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast (eggs benedict) was done to perfection. They have a full selection of gins so I was very well taken care of.

I would have given the 5 stars but the loo seat in our room wouldn't stay up and was loose (nothing worse for a bloke) but that was very minor.

User

The pub and food was really lovely, staff were friendly and helpful, couldn't fault it BUT we stayed over in one if there rooms and was not impressed at all way to nosiey

With gravel out side room only had to little downlights blind broke when using and the bloody church bells went off every 15 minutes so not a good sleep for me,

User

Pub/restaurant very nice, pretty trendy, good bar and the food was very nice, shame one of the 4 meals was missed off the menu, but they got a free £10 cocktail which almost covered for the annoyance. Bill was £170 for 4 so not too bad. Would recommend, it's a nice ambience.

User

Beautiful friendly place, the food is amazing and the staff are brilliant. The only reason it's 4 and not 5 stars is the bathroom of the room we stayed in could do with a refurb other than that this place is excellent value for money - we had a brilliant time :)

User

Lovely food, they change the menus regularily. We enjoyed beef wellington, I had the mussels starter which was good, the wine choice was OK, the choice of Gins was good too. Dropped two stars because the room was really I suppose what we paid for only £75.00 inc a lovely breakfast. But Room 1 is near the road and exit from pub, so a little noisey we heard the cleaner arrive at 05:20. The toilet was cramped burnt out left knee on the towel rail because it's too near the loo to even sit straight on it. Poor lighting in the bedroom, only two downlights so wife couldn't see to do hair, but a decent size shower which could have been cleaner. The heating was fine and controllable, as I said we got what we paid for, & if on a tight budget would go back again because the food and staff were brilliant, friendly and efficient.
