Fathers day is fast approaching, and what better way to start his day than with a hearty breakfast with us... (Plus it saves you the washing up) If he's not an early bird, we'll be serving roasts all day, and although we're biased, they are rather good! Call us or go online to book!

Another super turn out for our monthly dog walk last week! We’re sure you all enjoyed our bacon rolls beforehand too ! 🥓 Huge thanks to Jim for creating another route for us 🙌
Our next dog walk will be on Saturday 19th May , heading out around 10:30. Don’t forget, we hold this walk every third Saturday of the month throughout the year...whatever the weather! ☔️ ☀️ 💨 🐕

User

This coming Saturday 21st April marks our next monthly dog walk! Our good friend Jim has planned and mapped the route for Saturday (shown below) & suggested that some areas are still slightly muddy , and so walking boots advised . Hopefully this may have cleared up with the delightful weather we are currently blessed with 🌞 🌞 🌞)
Usual meet up at the pub between 10-10.30 am for bacon rolls & coffee before heading off shortly after . 🥓 ☕️ 🐕
PS. If you don’t have a dog to walk - please do join us anyway !! 🐶

What lovely customer service A smiling barmaid, Carol,a tasty lunch. Clean, toasty environment. Food fab and properly priced.

User

Went here with family for Sunday dinner. Excellent food and extensive menu and wine list. Friendly and efficient service. Could not fault the pub and will definitely return 😊👍🏻

User

Went for dinner last night and had the chick pea and cauliflower curry. Best I've ever eaten anywhere even in India. Friend had steak and said it was awesome. Hats off to the chef.

User

We came here today as your pub & the area were highly recommended to us. Even though we had a bit of trouble with another customer due to our puppy - to which we are very sorry for, all of you were extremely professional & thank you for looking after us. The food was excellent, customer service & the grounds are beautiful. I would absolutely recommend this pub for families with dogs or without, looking for a lovely, relaxing day out !

User

Visiting area and we have eaten here two nights in a row. Beautiful laid out building and amazing food. Will definitely return. Well done to everyone who works there your all doing an amazing job.

User

Very nice place, kind service and amazing food. I return again. Thank you

User

Thank you for our wonderful evening last night 15th November. We had a table for nine. The food and service were excellent. Great food and great staff. Will definitely return.

User

Stumbled across this pub whilst driving in the area and not being able to get into 2 other pubs due to them being packed out on a Thursday lunchtime for some reason! We received a lovely welcome and the food we ordered was absolutely delicious so very pleased to have found it! We would definitely recommend it and we will return

User

Quaint tavern with low ceilings and lots of fireplaces. Loved it, the friendly waiter, and the fruit-based gambling.

The waiter didn't like my friend's joke but I don't blame him -- it wasn't a very good joke. Something about pudding... Anyways...

User

Popped in for lunch yesterday sat in the garden and food and service this time much better. Lovely ploughman a lunch couldn't fault it fresh great produce especially the Brie yum

User

Our first visit here and we loved it. Friendly and welcoming staff, very tasty range of food. Our 9-month old loved playing on the grass out the front. They'd arranged for a local cider company to offer tasting outside which was a nice cultural addition to the visit. All in all, a great visit - I'll be recommending to friends in the area.

User

I attended a wreath making evening at The Leather Bottle . It really was a very enjoyable time. On arrival we had a glass of prosecco before watching a demonstration on wreath making. There was a great selection of bits for us to then make our own with plenty of help and support if needed.

Later we sat down to an excellent two course meal . All the staff were friendly and helpful.

A great evening 😊

User

Had lunch there with my fiancée today, we didn't think of ringing to check for table availability before we went and on arriving we were told they were fully booked but the staff managed to sort us a table which we really appreciated. The food was very nice, we both enjoyed our meals, it was our 1st visit here but definitely won't be our last, thanks.

User

First time here after a recommendation from a friend and it certainly lived up to its expectations , beautiful building , very friendly staff, and food was outstanding ! It's a half an hour drive for us but well worth it and will definitely be back x

User

Dog walk and then lunch. Plentiful tea/coffee/bacon butties before an easy paced not demanding walk. The weather was far too hot for prolonged exercise with the hounds but we covered around 3 miles in the hour before getting back to rehydrate and refuel.

Plenty of water for dogs and humans then Vietnamese prawn salad, and chicken milanese were highlights for lunch. The mini pud and coffee is a brilliant offer not too much.

Highly recommended. Always consistent.

User

Lovely food , excellent staff ,, couldn’t do enough for us , sorry about my dads tip , but he’s tight as f@@k , open log fires , just a shame all the townies have moved in the area and taken the proper meaning of country

User

It's was nice but you shouldn't have to pay £18 for rump steak. Rump is tough, or mine was but it was fine just expensive for rump, should be ribeye or sirloin at least for that price. Nice staff, nice pub... fish pie was lush. They just need to review their prices as kids section (they call smaller appetites) is a bit to expensive for what it was. The cheese board wasn't worth £9 either and the cheese wasn't good as obviously kept in fridge cause rock hard Brie (should be gooey)

User

we have had numerous meals at The Leather Bottle, but our last visit (Sunday) was disappointing.

Service was sub-standard, examples: asked for a pint and got a half, nearly had my dinner on my lap as it was placed half on the table (he didn't notice!) no crackling with the roast pork. Nobody came over during or after our meal to ask how it was!

User

Very disappointed, we had to wait at the bar to be served while the bar staff seemed to be chatting with their friends, the young man collecting the glasses had to point us out to the bar staff,

This isn't the first time this has happened, there appears to be no bar manager or any structure

When we got our food my wife had to return her's as it appeared to be burnt, we ate are main meal and left, we actually went to another pub and had are puddings there

I believe the pub is living on its name, people believe it's good but in fact it's a very poor, I've had better meals at other pubs locally

We will not be returning to the leather bottle

we have had numerous meals at The Leather Bottle, but our last visit (Sunday) was disappointing.

Service was sub-standard, examples: asked for a pint and got a half, nearly had my dinner on my lap as it was placed half on the table (he didn't notice!) no crackling with the roast pork. Nobody came over during or after our meal to ask how it was!
