What real ale's do you like to see at The Mechanical Elephant ? (add answers)

Went with my family to have something to eat, as we were there for a day trip,and to be honest there wasn't really anywhere else to eat apart from the overpriced fish & chip shop, had four meals & to alcoholic for £24 & the food was really good, even my children were impressed with it

I went there with my husband and two friends we ordered food and the girl serving was really friendly and helpful even when my friend and I were mucking about she didn't lose her patience. The food came and was really nice, we all ordered dessert as well which was so yummy I had the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream and it was not sickly and too overpowering like most I have tasted. Is it a cheap eat yes was the food good yes despite my first impression I really enjoyed my meal there

Couldn’t fault anything to do with the place, friendly bar staff great venue... some people for me fault with everything and anything... not me... superb place...definitely got my there again 😀

Weatherspoons is what it is. Enjoyed an nice meal and a drink at a cheap price. It's. it the ritz but it does not pretend to be the ritz.

We both had a good meal, freshly cooked, served by a cheerful waitress. The beer was excellent. Our table was cleaned just before we sat down.

The steak is out of this world, and on Tuesdays Steak club only £7.99 including a drink! Could eat it all day, sooo good. The Halloumi however is utter trash, cold and burned. Stick to Nandos for that ;)

45 minute wait for food, time before was an hour, so buy bar snacks in the meantime,it is worth the wait :)

The only problem in this establishment is the lack of heating. They insist on having the air conditioning on in mid-winter.

We enjoy the real ales and the food is very good indeed.

So we just had a drink and our meal and went to a warmer pub.

Turn up the heat and we would stay longer!!!

Popped in for a drink on a day trip to Margate. Would have had meal if Sunday roasts were still available. However, drinks sensible price. Friendly staff.

Never been here before but have to say the staff were really helpful and polite. Good choice of ales and a super veggie breakfast.

I come here at least once a week, for the past few weeks I been coming more often.

I regret having to say this.

Last Thursday was the worse meal ever.

1st meal was burnt to a crisp, black as coal.

2nd meal bacon was stone cold.

Yesterday, I was with a crowd, and there was a real mix up with the orders. Getting things we never ordered arrived and things we did order never arrived.

Today, wrong meal arrived, wrong sauces.

This is a shame. I have no idea what is going wrong.

Even with the errors I do like this Weatherspoon.

The place it's self could really benefit with a make over, revamp, refit, and a really good spring clean, cobwebs everywhere.

Always a friendly welcome,with a good atmosphere.

Quite outdated and believe it would benefit from a coat of paint if nothing else. Not your typical wetherspoons and really quite suprised its listed as a llyods bar

fish and chip friday was a no show until.late afternoon.when my partner asked about it( who is a shift manager of our local wetherspoons)was told they had no fish.went down stairs to use the toilets and proceeded to get wet black paint on my white top as they decided to paint the toilet doors black before opening up and couldnt see a wet paint sign anywhere.diabolical

Was disgusting sat down to a dirty table didn’t see anyone cleaning them had to help ourselves to a menu when ordering nothing was in stock and the food was very poor

Sticky tables but the bar staff were good.

Disgraceful. Ladies toilets were so dirty hadn't been cleaned. No loo roll. No hand soap. Dirty floors and walls
