The Mint Source Description

Described by London's Time Out Magazine as a "treasure of a shop", The Mint Source was first established in 1993 in an old artisan's cottage in London's Wimbledon Village, a stone's throw from the world famous Wimbledon Tennis Championships. For 21 years, The Mint Source has built a loyal following of local customers and international shoppers who come back year after year, never stopping in London without visiting the shop.

The Mint Source was founded by Maggie Heaney, one of Terence Conran's first buyers, at the inception in the 1970s of The Conran Shop in Kensington, London. Maggie Heaney then became Buying Director of The General Trading Company (GTC) when it was in its iconic premises on Sloane Street in Chelsea.

The General Trading Company was a much loved London store famed worldwide, with four royal warrants, for its eclectic, understated and timeless British style and host to many royal visitors and wedding lists. With its relaxed and effortless approach to shopping for your home, GTC was never afraid to blend style and design influence with a generous dash of colour, verve and wit. It is the same ethos, using a wealth of experience that Maggie brings to The Mint Source. Expertly chosen & edited products jostle together to capture the essence of everything that makes British style great.

The Mint Source is now firmly a family business with Maggie's daughter, Melissa, involved. With less and less personality on Britain's high streets, The Mint Source prides itself on its personable approach to shopping without compromising on style.

Autumn 2015 saw The Mint Source move from Wimbledon Village - after 22 years of city dwelling - to Oxfordshire in order to develop our on line business and find exciting locations for new and fresh projects.

At mintsource.com you'll find a sizeable handful of products cherry picked from our extensive collection and we hope you'll source some wonderful gifts and useful additions to your home.
