Visited The Nutmeg Tree at its new home in Ditchling today.

Was a regular customer at its previous home in Tunbridge Wells.

We received the usual warm welcome when we arrived, the service was up to its usual standard as was the food.

The new location is far nicer as it is in the countryside rather than a town centre. It's has a lovely courtyard garden with a view of the South Downs.

Took a trip out on the bike today with the wife & a good friend. Typical, the heavens opened & we got soaked. Luckily our planned route passes the Nutmeg Tree so we popped in to warm ourselves with a lovely pot of tea & sit close to the wood burning stove.

Well tea turned into breakfast with a delightful smoked salmon With scrambled egg on toast followed by a lovely slice of Bakewell tart while our cycle shoes, socks, gloves & jackets dried by the fire ( rather cheeky of us but the staff never said a word & were so nice about it).

Have been here previously when the weather was better & sat outside in the little garden catching the sun. As for leaving the bikes while in the shop, they have a handy little courtyard hidden from the street that allows us cyclists to relax rather than rush outside every minute to check on your prized possession.



Definitely coming back ladies but hopefully not as wet as today.

The nutmeg tree is an absolutely amazing place. The food is first class with the best cheesecake ever! Annette & all of the staff are so friendly & attentive & sitting by the log burner on a winters day is so cosy with the old tunes playing! Highly recommend this lovely little place x

The best sausage baguette ever! So friendly and love the food and service. Can’t wait till the warmer days to sit out in the garden area.

Thank you for a lovely Mother’s Day lunch - I had the Afternoon Tea and my family had Macaroni Cheese, Cheese Omelette and a Bacon/Sausage baguette all of which were delicious.

Was very impressed with how we were dealt with both by the owner and the waitresses despite them being very busy and the Mother’s Day Rose � was a lovely touch Thank you and we will definitely be back�

Lovely sweet tea rooms. Excellent service and beautiful cream tea. And what a bonus they allow dogs too. Will definitely be returning .

Lovely food and lovely staff. Beautiful cafe in beautiful settings with loverly garden area will definatly visit again x

Lovely afternoon tea in very cosy surroundings. Very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely come back.

Following a recommendation in a touristy leaflet we found this gem of a tea room and couldn't resist the afternoon tea for two - delicious!! will come again when we're in the area, there's still so much left on the menu to try out, and the garden is lovely :-)

Fabulous tea rooms with good service & delicious selection of food. Defo go back.
