Ian Neil signed up for Personal Training at Parish Wharf Leisure Centre to help him on his weight loss journey.
He said: “Mallick really pushes me, but his constant encouragement means I’ve reached a level of fitness I just would not have got to if I’d continued to work out on my own. After 2 months I feel so much better and friends and family are noticing a big change in my appearance.”

We were kindly given some vouchers by Michelle as compensation after a previous issue. Today the pool was very busy as it was half term, management were helping with the queue and were very appologetic for the wait. the children loved playing in the waterfall, rapids and the baby pool. My 11 month old daughter loved watching all the other children play. Customer service is excellent, the pools are great fun and the changing rooms were clean and hygienic. Thank you for the vouchers!

User

We really like the pools here, they are so easy to get too the staff are always friendly, polite and willing to help...

I'm disabled and struggle walking and steps are a nightmare but it's all easy for me to acsess with plenty of hand bars to hang onto getting in and out...

Our little one loves the outside part the best and we tend to spend ages out there...

User

Having read all the comments it has confirmed my view that people only comment when they have something negative to say. Well I use the Pavilions every day and I think it is brilliant. Excellent instructors and as far as I am concerned all the receptionists are very pleasant and helpful. If customers didn't drop their tickets, wristbands and litter on the floor the Pavilions would be a whole lot cleaner.

User

Always use this pool with my 7 year old, clean, and tidy changing rooms. She loves it here !

User

I would like to complain about your new website. It is NOT user friendly, it is hard to navigate and finding the information is near to impossible. There are not prices on the website for swimming. And when googling pavilions in the park the website does not even come up. people who do not know they need to Google placesforpeople will never find the website. I have used the previous version of the website many times with very few problems. The leisure centre itself is good mostly, lots of variety for classes. But the pool changing rooms and showers are usually not very clean.

User

I come here a lot, using the pool, cafe, gymnastics sessions and the soft play. It’s such an important resource for the town and it’s great that all this is in one place. However, there is a cleanliness problem. The pool changing rooms, toilets, soft play and communal seating area are regularly visibly dirty. The pool changing has been disgusting every time I have been, very smelly, with nappy bins that have obviously not been cleaned or emptied for some time. The baby change units are grimy. The floors and toilets are dirty. It needs to close for a weekend to disinfect, scrub and make repairs to these areas. It’s a great pool, which my family love, but for £16 for us to swim I expect it to at least be clean. The soft play too needs more attention. Grimy mats, toys, floors the last several times I’ve been. Such a shame when it’s the only one in town at the moment. All this really puts me off going. I’d love to see some improvements because I’m keen to be a regular to such a useful and central complex.

User

Advised by the reception staff that the soft play would be spotless having just had its annual clean so they set expectations.

Not impressed. Matts had all been wiped certainly but crumbs and dirt still on top in places, all joints full or dirt, dust and hair and the surrounding closed off areas thick with dust.

If this is following an annual clean not a daily clean I certainly would be asking the cleaning company for a refund!

User

Really disappointing service here lately. Reception incredibly busy and staff seem frustrated with problems. Changing rooms dirty and clearly not being maintained. Problems with facilities in the health suite or working-showers often out of order, hand rails broken, or just missing. Sadly letters of complaint go unanswered and when chased a curt reply with no responses to concerns on lack of service eventually arrives. On a recent visit i saw one pay as you go member have free entry due to an issue in the health suite. I have also been given a free visit after the sauna foot spa and shower were out of order. If you are paying monthly you are told, in a somewhat patronising tone ' I'm sure you can understand it is not a simple procedure to compensate members' Well it is simple-refund payment-like cashiers do when on reception and dealing with complains and problems. Screwing your members over is really not the way to go!I cancelled my membership a while ago but my Mum stuck with them-only to be palmed off with dismissive replies.

User

Me and the kids love the pools, especially the outdoor pool, but the cleanliness is pretty grim! The changing room floor today was really dirty and the 2 private showers smelt horrendous so we didn't go in them like usual! My youngest was getting upset when dressed about standing in the floor as it was so unpleasant. The hygiene surrounding the pool is notorious so I can't understand why it has never been resolved over the years! It's not a difficult problem to solve.

User

I give the gymnastics hall 5 stars which my 3 year old attends. Clean and managed well by the staff. But my 2 stars goes to the pool area. My son had a lovely lesson which was good but the changing area and toilets stunk of poo and wee. The floors were filthy and when I pointed this out at reception they acted as if it was a first and they said they would let someone know and that it's due to mums putting smelling nappy in bins. Surely then the correct bins should be provided throughout changing rooms with lids on and emptied daily. I'm almost certain that was not the cause. It seems tho judging by the comments that this stench is always there. There is no way I'm using the pool again let alone my son. The toilets and changing areas are not cleaned often enough or thorough enough and therefore makes me question the pools cleanliness too! Is anyone going to do anything about this? I can't seem to find an email address to send this too. I would love to use this pool as it is convenient for me but there no way I'm using it in the current state!

User

Disadvantages:

1- No free parking for members so every time you have to pay 1.60£ per visit + 45£ membership which is too much for this gym given its poor facilities as a council gym. Any proper gym will give its members free parking for 2 hours!

2- Changing room is quite dirty and small. Only one toilet !!!

3- Gym equipment are not up to date and missing many good machines.

Advantages:

1- The spa is really good (Jaccuzzi + sauna + steam room).

2- There is no nearby gym with swimming and spa so there is no competition unfortunately.

User

Utterly disgusting facilities. Truly horrendous - green mould in the water, black mould all over tiles and floors, urine and dirt on the floors, used plasters and bits of rubbish just... Just EVERYWHERE. I felt so sick the whole time and I left early when I saw the state of the showers. I would rather let my clothes get wet and wait til I get home to shower somewhere CLEAN. Will never ever returning here!

User

This leisure centre is filthy which is a real shame as it used to be a lovely place. The swimming pool changing rooms and the toilets are particularly bad. If I do swim here it takes me ages to pluck up the courage to remove my shoes and does make me feel ill when I see what I’m stepping on. The floor is covered in hairs, littered with rubbish and last week when I swam there, there was even a greenie on the floor! Vile! It’s more expensive than other nicer leisure centres including K2 in Crawley and you have to pay to park. Sort it out Pavillions!!

User

On 24th July I appreciate its hot and will be busy but I am alarmed at the lack of direction and leadership at the facility. No online updates, no posted signs, advice or even verbal communication on site. People literally lining up through the facility to get into the leisure pool. Communication goes along way to improve your customer experience. I hated it on this occasion and hope the leisure centres leadership team learn from this.

User

It’s still filthy, despite years of people complaining about it. Unfortunately I have to go through it to get to the kids gymnastics (which I would rate 5*) and I feel sick every time I have to take them to the toilet facilities during their classes as they are just so dirty and badly maintained.

User

It's SHOCKING to see that all the comments about the filthy state of health suite and hygienic status of steam room/spa/sauna fall upon deaf ears .Do they care , or are they having a laugh ? They need to be punished, and hitting them hard via ££££££££ is the only way, when some of those in positions of authority lose their jobs due to apathy, maybe then things will change. Look back at the dates of complaints, as far back a two years and still today the same complaints AND NOTHING BEING DONE ABOUT IT .Time to get the press involved!!! Hit them hard

User

Dreadful experience today. Drove all the way from Crawley to use the kids pool and after queing with a 19mth old for 10 minutes told its shut due to lightning. Whilst I completely understand they cannot tell me when it will reopen I am disappointed in the attitude and approach about the entire thing. I then asked to use soft play instead and told no cos my son isnt 2 yet although he has been in before with no issues. I then tried to express that I had now paid for parking and unable to use any facility and couldnt really wait around as my toddler would just run riot and I wouldnt know how long I might be waiting for. The lady on reception who I wasnt even dealing with just jumped in with an attitude and then both proceeded to just start dealing with someone else, cutting me off.Reception isnt good at the best of times but today really made me angry. Complete lack of empathy or desire to come up with a solution. They could have offered me a refund on parking or at least have come across a little more empathetic at the situation instead of being rude and defensive and completely not listening.

User

Changing rooms were filthy, rubbish all over the floor, as usual smaller pool was unused but not open. We pay for the use of the facilities but they’re never open. Will start going to K2 now. Try getting enough staff to cover the pools and keep the place clean, it’s not that difficult,

User

Absolutely appalling and it’s such a shame because we have used the pool many times as a family but we certainly won’t be going back for a while! The changing rooms were filthy, hair and dirt all over the floor and rubbish inside the cubicles. The pool edges look unkempt and major refurbish works need to bring it back to its original glory. The steps leading the the slide had so much algae on them, they were disgusting. So disappointing as we love swimming here-however until things improve we won’t be returning
