The Red Lion / Pad Thai

What a little gem! Hidden away in Wokingham, my partner and I were able to re-live our Thai memories with very authentic Thai food and such good value for money! We will be back soon :)

Amazing food and service. Polite staff and welcoming atmosphere

Our first visit here, food was AMAZING, the flavours were so good, compliments to all the chefs, cooked to perfection. Service was delightful, all attending staff were smiley, helpful and polite. A nice space was left between courses and I did not feel rushed to leave. My only complaint is how close the tables are together, almost knocked someones dinner off their table, whilst trying to squeeze into my seat.

If your looking for a very busy restaurant where you can't really chat this is the place ! Great food staff friendly, but more for a girly evening out x there were 4 of us & a buzzing Friday night service but a bit slow but who cares when your drinking & chatting thought portions on small size but presented well & very tasty overall good

The music was such fun. The barmaids were lovely. And made some new musical buddies thanks to the entertainer.

Not bad venue, but pricy n pokey, smoking area Mmmm.

Little bit of work between staff, patrons and musicians n potentionally dynamite place.

Had a lovely night out with my husband drinking cocktails. The atmosphere was good & music great.



Only problem is that the menu has a few Champagne cocktails on it, which is £2 more expensive than a cocktail made with Prosecco. I ordered a Kir Royale & my husband noticed it was made with Prosecco not Champagne (it certainly didn't have the crisp smooth taste of Champagne). I asked the barmaid to make me one with Champagne & was told they don't sell champagne on the premises despite advertising that they do on their menu & blatantly charging people an extra £2 per cocktail for it. I highlighted that this is false advertising & taking advantage of their consumers. I got my £2 back but other people will have been taken advantage of, which is not acceptable.



I am going to message the owners to ask them to change their practice, otherwise I will have to report them for breaching consumer rights/standards.

We opted for a buffet menu

With 5 starters & 5 mains

Starter was great ,

Second course took ages to come & drinks took ages to get ! When our second course arrived-

It soon became apparent they had given us the "next tables food " - but as we had started eating it , we had what we orderd & then they bought fresh food to the other table. . . Service was very disjointed & the staff didn't listen to what customers asked !

Popped in yesterday afternoon (Sunday) at 4.30 for a cheeky pre-dinner cocktail before meeting with friends. Checked out the cocktail menu on the bar and decided on an espresso martini. At the bar, around 4 people were sat nursing drinks and there were 2 bar staff behind the bar. No one else was waiting to be served. I politely asked for an espresso martini and the female bar staff looked questioningly at her male colleague. He shrugged and said; "it depends if you can be bothered to make it or not." She shook her head in reply. He then informed us that they were too busy and so it wouldn't be possible! Of course we left! Not wholly disappointed as the place was pretty grubby. Won't be going back.

Been here years ago and visited yest, we had set menu 2 and totally disappointed.. food didnt feel fresh and place was run down

Worst place to go to in Wokingham. The manager is rude and is unprofessional to his customers! Will be telling all of my friends never ever to come here! Doesn't even deserve a 1 star! Manager is a disgrace!
