National Smile Month starts today. Good oral health is important for obvious reasons but a big smile has plenty of other health benefits....
*Smiling gives your face a quick work out - it takes 26 muscles to smile. *Someone’s smile is the first thing we notice when meeting a new person. *Smiles are officially more attractive than makeup. Research by Orbit Complete confirmed that 69% of people find women more attractive when they smile than when they are wearing makeup.... *Your immune system is boosted by smiling because when you smile, you relax. *Smiling is contagious and it’s free. Our clever brains have a synchronising feature which means if you smile, who are you speaking to probably will too.
So who makes you smile the most? Tag them and give their face a quick workout. 😁

We gave everyone a nudge about being flip flop fit a couple of weeks ago. Summer prep is great but we should be kind to our feet generally. Busy, active lifestyles can lead to a build up of hard skin and our feet are something few of us dedicate care to. Treat them to a little TLC in our foot spas. With hydro speed jets that increase blood circulation, they can be used before a training session to stimulate reflexes and slowly warm up the body. Or after a workout to relax tired feet and reduce body temperature.
And if you really want to get your feet ready for summer exposure, why not book a pedicure? Our foot treatments start at £18. Call or message us today.

What a hidden gem! Booked a last minute afternoon tea which included access to all facilities for such a great price! The location is beautiful and instantly relaxing, could look at the view over the woodland all day. We used the gym and spa facilities. Gym was well equipped and a nice atmosphere. The spa was so relaxing and not too busy, a lovely atmosphere! Afternoon tea was gorgeous and the home made, warm scotch eggs were a great addition.

My only criticisms would be a foot spa and one of the experience showers didn't work in the spa and it was maybe a bit too hot in the spa overall. Also, the windows around the infinity pool were about dirty which spoilt the nice view.

What made it for us was the location and the views, just can't believe we were only 20 mins from home... felt like we were in the middle of nowhere! Can't wait to return!

User

We had an amazing spa day for my husbands birthday today. Our treatments from Alison and Jess were fantastic, they really looked after us and the afternoon tea was out of this world. I would highly recommend the Reynolds Retreat to anyone who wants a little haven to relax in.

User

We had a lovely spa day with afternoon tea today .

All the staff were so helpful and polite.

I had read a couple of not so good reviews so wasn’t sure what to expect.

It didn’t disappoint as the setting is wonderful .

The afternoon tea was delicious.

Had a pedicure and the therapists were so friendly and the end result was great .

Thank you for a lovely day to everyone at Reynolds

User

We came today and had a lovely day. I had a 30min back massage by Anne (im sure that was her name) it was amazing. Lunch was lovely and so was our scones at the end of today. Will be back. Thank you

User

Oh what a great way to catch up with friends and chill a little. Lovely surroundings, great service, super tea and what is there not to love about a Caribbean shower !! We went in 3 times!

Just wish there were some sun beds outside to soak up the rays ?

User

I booked Reynolds Retreat for the second time with my friend as we loved it so much the first time and we were not disappointed. This spa is in such a beautiful location, it has wonderful grounds that make you feel as if you are in a beautiful valley.

We were welcomed by very friendly reception staff and offered robes, towels and slippers although we did have to pay for these.

My friend and I booked their offer through Travelzoo for full spa access all day and afternoon tea. The spa itself is fantastic, there is a great pool as well as a smaller warm pool with jets, heated recliners that overlook a beautiful green area and pond and showers offering tropical storm experiences. Everything was very clean and the atmosphere very peaceful and relaxing.

Afternoon tea was a treat with delicious sweets and divine prosecco but we missed the sausage rolls we had last time. The waiter is a real asset to the Retreat. He was warm and helpful, sufficiently attentive yet gave us space to enjoy our time together and very kindly provided us with details of the prosecco we enjoyed so much.

The staff overall are lovely. My friend and I had three treatments each; scalp treatment, Indian head massage, vanilla and xylang xylang wrap (×2), soft feet and back exfoliation. We could not fault the standard of massage, both ladies were clearly accomplished and we came out of our treatments feeling thoroughly relaxed and refreshed.

This is my second time here and I am already looking forward to coming again.

User

Had a wonderful spa day with my mum and sisters as a birthday treat for our Mum. It wAs her first spa experience, and Reynolds didn’t disappoint. Great value for money, our day included an hour of treatments afternoon tea with prosecco which was very yummy and complimentary drinks all day. Spa was lovely and very clean, and the surroundings were beautiful. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly and the therapists were amazing. We all had an awesome day. We will definitely be back x

User

Had a lovely spa day with 2 friends. Included 2 course lunch and glass of prosecco. We upgraded to 3 courses for an extra £5.00. The food was amazing, treatments lovely and spa area was really spacious. Plenty of places to lounge about and chat/read. Could of done with a few more water stations dotted around (I prefer the cups as well rather than drinking out of the fountain type). Also the shower controls were the push button and about 10 seconds of water before having to press again, so would have been better with continuous flow. Apart from that (and I was so relaxed by the time I showered at the end of the day so didn’t really care too much) was all great. Will definitely be returning.

User

Had a lovely day at the Reynolds Retreat with a group of friends. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious and the wine great too! The spa has such a chilled feel and we all came away feeling very relaxed. Will definitely be back!

User

Had a fantastic day with my family to celebrate my niece getting married, all the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The treatment I had was relaxing and enjoyable and along with a pool with a view and a wonderful steam room a great time was had by all. Only downside was the afternoon tea, the sandwich fillings were not to my liking and there was not many of them although the cakes were better. Would come back again.

User

Booked a spa day for my husbands 50th... had an amazing day. Beautiful place, lovely facilities, great food and fantastic treatments and the cost is very reasonable. Highly recommend.

User

This place is amazing, beautiful and great for relaxing. The views are breathtaking and you really do feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, my booking was messed up, even though we booked months in advance, and ended up with a complementary voucher for another day but not treatment on the day of the bridal party ☹️

User

Lovely facilities, good location. Great food. Treatments quite quick and staff not overly attentive. Could do with water cooler machines down in the pool area as the water fountains are not hygienic and would be nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the relaxation areas. Overall a good day but a few improvements could be made to service.

User

My experience was not the greatest. i have been three times and twice after the first time it all was going downhill.

i brought my partner as he had been stressed and been excited to show him this spa experience to only it not being the greatest at all.

Him being a multi trader, he noticed lots of health and safety issues. Lots of cracks and mold in the corners of the pool.

I got a splinter form the sauna where the wooden slabs are cracking.

The steam room smelt disgusting and was a horrible sound from where the music was meant to come out from.

The ladies toiletz were blocked and unclean and over flowd with towels.

only one foot pool was working. the other smelt eggy and didn't really work.

one storm shower was working.

the warm relaxation beds weren't working apart from one.

the waiting room was freezing that we had to keep each other warm.

our three treatments weren't great as they werenrt done one after the other so we couldn't relax. Our back massage was extremely painful and caused my other half more back pain walking out of the spa day.

Food was the only highlight luckily enough.

Just a shame i spent over 250£ on spa days and wasn't really a relaxing spa day at all.

User

I attended Reynolds retreat for the 'Mum to be' package as a treat from my husband. We arrived to very friendly and welcoming staff of such a beautiful building and grounds who handed us robes, dressing gowns and slippers, so I was prepared for a very good day.

Unfortunately my first treatment didn't meet my expectations. I found it to be very rushed, and although Ali the therapist was very friendly she didn't do a lot. I'm speaking from experience when I say this as I've had this exact treatment before and it was more fulfilling. It didn't help the fact that the room was very cold and I kept feeling a blast of cold air, possibly from the air con. All the creams/lotions felt as if they'd come out of a fridge. Despite this treatment being disappointing I was still open minded and looking forward to my next treatment and lunch.

My deluxe manicure was ok, but not a luxury. It was more of a basic manicure as I didn't receive much of a hand massage. My nails weren't dry by the end of my treatment and I was told not to use the spa facilities for 1-2hrs to avoid messing up my nails.

I carefully dined for lunch and was presented with a beautiful looking afternoon tea. However my dietary requirements weren't met, despite the Chef having pre-instructions from the receptionist. The yummy looking sandwiches were sent back and replaced with three plain cheddar sandwiches with no chutney's, salad or thought given to it. Despite this being sold as a 'Mum-to-be' package it was a shame that I was presented with foods pregnant women have to avoid and then was given a very bland alternative. My husband however had a wonderful lunch and wasn't disappointed in anyway. Our Waiter did his upmost to make our lunch enjoyable.

After lunch my husband and I relaxed in the thermal spa, which was the most enjoyable part of the day. It was luxurious and the tropical showers were a treat. It was a shame to depart the hottest part of the building as the changing rooms were freezing. I heard other guests mention the same, including the staff. They too agreed the retreat felt particularly cold that day, which is the last thing you want when walking around in dressing gowns.

On our departure my husband mentioned to the receptionist our disappointment regarding the afternoon tea, to which she apologised, but didn't offer us any consolation, and wasn't as friendly as when we first arrived.

I had high expectations from this wonderful setting, but unfortunately the quality just wasn't good enough compared to what my husband paid for the package.

User

Beautiful surroundings, we had a lovely day, afternoon tea was lovely. The day would have been perfect however there were a lot of things not working/broken and this just ruined the experience for me, this was a last minute gift from my husband after a very stressful couple of weeks, so although I had a lovely day I'm not sure if it's worth the money my husband paid.

The following facilities were broken:-

In the hydrotherapy spa pool one of the 2 water jets were broken.

One of the 2 feature monsoon showers wasn't working ( I had to jump in with my friend and share hers)

There are four essence foot spas, only one of these worked correctly, the other 3 were tepid water with no essence whatsoever.

The aroma steam room had no aroma at all, it was just a basic steam room, dissaoointing as this is what I was looking forward to most.

And lastly the relaxation lounge was freezing cold, we were sat in there with robes and towels wrapped around us, to be fair they did fix this however we did have put up with a guy on a step ladder changing a dusty filter in the ceiling whilst we were supposed to be relaxing.

Would I return again, I'm not sure 🤔 I'm gutted because the building and the beautiful views are stunning and the afternoon tea was gorgeous.

User

It’s such a shame .

The actual building and surroundings are very nice but unfortunately I have never known anywhere treat it’s customers and employees so badly.

I certainly wouldn’t join as a member even though it’s 5 mins from my house. Leisure clubs especially perceived high quality ones should be all about customer service.

If you like training in a bad atmosphere where equipment doesn’t get repaired.

Or if you don’t mind staff ignoring you even though your the only one standing in reception then this place will suit you.

User

I will now definitely cancel our family membership (after two years)! So not only couples are allowed to have sex in the hydro land you do little about it), but tonight you have allowed two underage youngsters in the pool, sauna etc!!! Faulty equipment is not even worth mentioning in comparison to this...not anymore. Remind me please, why am l paying thousands of pounds in membership fees??

User

Great gym until it came to cancel my contract. Once my contract was over I cancelled my direct debit. However Reynolds got a debt collection company to chase me for an additional 2 months which I was left with no choice to pay. But when asked if that means I could use the gym for an additional 2 months I was refused. So basically I was forced to pay for something that wasn't provided. Aweful customer service. Treated me like a criminal after I had paid my 12 month contract up. Ended up having to pay nearly £300 fir absolutely nothing. Just remember to read the small print people.

User

I booked Reynolds Retreat for the second time with my friend as we loved it so much the first time and we were not disappointed. This spa is in such a beautiful location, it has wonderful grounds that make you feel as if you are in a beautiful valley.

Treated me like a criminal after I had paid my 12 month contract up. Ended up having to pay nearly £300 fir absolutely nothing. Just remember to read the small print people.
