What a fabulous evening. The staff are brilliant, friendly, funny and helpful and the food. Well, just wow ! The scallops were the best I’ve ever had and the sharing sea bass special was out of this world. We just had to have the show stopper dessert to follow which did not disappoint! Fab evening from start to finish, can’t wait to go back !!

We came for afternoon tea today for my birthday. I’m not a big fish eater but wanted to try something abit different and absolutely loved it! The tastes and flavours were really good and the puddings were amazing! The staff were very welcoming and lovely as well! compliments to the chef xx thank you!

User

Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who offered to take our coats and then promptly showed us to our table. The waiter was absolutely fantastic, so funny and very sweet - he really added to our experience! The food itself was absolutely incredible - perfectly cooked and the flavours were delicious. I had a cake organised for my mum (her birthday treat) and that was absolutely wonderful as well. All in all, an amazing experience. Thank you all for making it such a memorable evening for us all! Will definitely return in the future!

Surf platter....total bliss.

Sat on the balcony....cold pale ale and plenty of napkins....

Well cooked fresh seafood....do it

User

Service was attentive from the moment we walked in the door! Cocktails are a must! The gin shelf was groaning with specialist distillery bottles and the Mixologist was very knowledgable and talented! Food was utterly divine, tandoori monkfish, baked bream, shellfish plus meats. All beautifully presented with excellent but unobtrusive service. “End of the Pier” desert was unique! A top class, atmospheric restaurant with views of Brighton seafront and the old pier. Perfect for a special occasion or if you are feeling like a treat!

Me and my partner recently visited the salt room.

Service was great, was made to feel welcome.

At first we were seated in the middle of the restaurant (we were 20 mins early),

as we had asked for a romantic seat when we booked our reservation, within 5 minutes we had moved by a seat overlooking the sea that was perfect.

In regards to the waiter, he was very accommodating and was able to answer my numerous questions regarding the menu, he had a sense of humour which is rare to find in most waiters/waitresses.

Regarding the food... Well well all of the above could of been terrible and I would of still given 5 stars because the food was beautiful.

I had the octopus starter which was in a lovely sauce that had numerous layers of flavour 5/5

My partner had the tomato soup, which although I personally didnt enjoy, my partner loved. 3/5

For mains my partner had the sirloin which lived up to its pricing and was perfectly cooked for her. 5/5

My main was the lobster which came with fresh crab claws, the lobster was precut with a thick sauce which also had many layers to it. 5/5

All in all we really enjoyed ourselves and will 100% be returning in the future.

Hope this helps you decide whether to go here or not.

Had an excellent lunch at The Salt Room this Sunday, great service, amazing food and lovely atmosphere, made a super end to a cracking weekend in Brighton. Can't wait to go back for the repeat performance, love it.

User

Had an awesome time last night sat trying cocktails at the bar! Massive thanks to Red for his skills and tasty lemon cocktail... fantastic service, such a pleasure to talk too... Red - what was in that cocktail? I need the list of ingredients, I must make it at home until I can come back and visit!!!

User

Food was absolutely deliscious, staff were so friendly and knew there food to make recommendations. Rib eye steak was melt in the mouth and makes me salivate just thinking about it. The dessert 2 people share just topped off a great night!. We will definitely be returning!

User

Amazing service from Aga tonight. She was absolutely perfect. Had my first ever Oyster, the guest Oyster which was fab followed by the Octopus starter, the fish platter and then an amazing dessert with candyfloss. This was an exquisite experience and completely worth the money spent. 10/10 will definitely return.

User

Amazing lunch fantastic Crab claws shared with my beautiful wife followed by jerked Lobster (wife) and whole salt baked Sea Bream (me) filleted at the table wonderful cocktails and the dessert a sharing All the round the pier was a delight to behold and took us back to our childhood. The was superb not to much but well looked after from the minute we arrived until leaving. Everyone should go at least once we will certainly be back.

User

Waiter was one of the best and made our visit! Have been before, no change with too much ice in drinks and ice berg in my gin cocktail which hit me in the face! Special starter with haddock very salty .Enjoyed rest of meal but nuts in almost every dish including deserts bit OTT .Will be interesting to see new menu .

User

Came back from New Zealand with my partner raving about the restaurant I went to prior to leaving Brighton, a few years back. For £160 all in, it was just average bar the French waiter we had who was great.

The side of greens was simply kale on its own, any other option was just about veg free (potatoes/chips), the steak and fish nothing to write home about... we were too full for a big dessert so went for the macaroons - picked it up and it came apart as the filling was running out the sides, the macaroon itself was hard like a biscuit. Also, no lobster, do they have ‘seasons?!’ Really disappointed as for the price, we should have had something stunning.

User

Service was poor, steak was rubbish quality not tender very fatty. £50 for 700g. Starter was ok beef cheek. Dessert was awful some platter with candy floss to salty and tasteless had to send back

User

Gunderwhelming - went with my son and waiter stood over us continually scratching his hair which was a slightly of putting welcome. Despite being told by the new very clean looking waiter that the restaurant was the best in Brighton, the food was just ok - steak ok, the (small) fish ok and sides arrived about 10 mins after although they didn't charge. Macaroons hard and with squidgy jam inside - very expensive for what is was. Lovely decor tho shame food didn't match.
