A very sad day for all villagers who knew Heather ... and a very sad day for Howard who has not only lost his wife, but his soul mate and best friend 😢

As most of you will know by now that sadly Heather Pilkington passed away on Friday 27th March . Heather and her husband Howard have run the wonderful ‘Treasury ‘ and ‘Acanthus’ shops in Tissington village for many years . I have been asked to let everyone know who knew her , that her funeral will be on Thursday the 9th April at 1pm . at St Mary’s church in Tissington.
... Due to the Coronavirus epidemic that we are experiencing at the moment, there will be a short burial service at the grave side. * There will NO church service * Only 10 people are allowed to join Howard during the burial . Howard has chosen who he would like to be at his side .
The hurst will be driven down through rakes lane just before 1pm . If you would like to show your respect to Heather at this time , please feel free to do so by either standing in your garden or sitting in your car, and respect the space recommended between each other during this difficult distancing time . If you feel that you would like to give a donation to a said charity ?.... Heather was very passionate about supporting ‘Air Ambulance ‘ due to the amazing work that they do and I’m sure that nearly all of us have been touched one way or another by the amazing work that Air ambulance do for so many people/families . Please share this information to anyone who may not be aware . Thank you xx

In these troubled times we have noticed a lot of people still visiting the village for leisure purposes. This is NOT social distancing this is NOT an essential journey. We have a lot of elderly and vulnerable people in the village who we need to protect. We will welcome you back with open arms once all of this is over.

This years Well Dressing begins on Thursday 21 May. The blessing service begins at 11am. The wells remain dressed for one week until Wednesday 27 May.
