**SAVE THE DATE for UKATA 2020 AGM and MEDALS CEREMONY**
UKATA are pleased to announce that the 2020 UKATA Annual General Meeting will take place on: Thursday 16th July, 2020 commencing at 12.45 pm At: Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel, The NEC Birmingham, Pendigo Way,... Marston Green, Birmingham B40 1PP
Further information will be circulated in due course, so in the meantime, please save the date. All members are encouraged to attend the AGM to receive updates from Council and an overview about future plans. You will also be advised about nominations for Council membership and as a member of UKATA you are entitled to vote at the AGM, so please plan to come along and make your mark.
As there has been a change from our practice of having our conference in April we needed to change the date of the AGM and wanted to give you plenty of notice of the date. A formal notification of the AGM will be circulated in June.
We are further delighted to announce that the UKATA Medals Ceremony will commence at the conclusion of the AGM. This annual and much anticipated event is where we recognise and honour our UKATA colleagues for their contributions to our UKATA Community. Previous medal winners have been recognised under such categories as: personal growth, overcoming adversity, services to TA or a contribution to the development of TA practice.
You will be notified in due course with further information on the UKATA Medals and details of how to nominate.
We look forward to seeing you there.

On behalf of UKATA, I am sad to let you know of the death of Gordon Law this week.
Here is a message from Bev Gibbons - UKATA Chair.
Remembering Gordon Law
... I recently received the very sad news that Gordon Law TSTA -P died earlier this week. I didn’t have the pleasure of getting to know Gordon well, and I trust you will be hearing more from those who did. For now I will leave you with this:
Not so long ago Gordon sent an email to a number of colleagues, including me, and in it he introduced himself. I’m sure he would not mind me sharing this with you:
For those who do not know me I am an ‘old timer’ foundation member of ITA, been on numerous national/international councils, committee, editorial board of the TAJ . A kindly description is ‘a very clever rebel’; I quite like that and usually add ‘prone to advocating power with, rather than power over’.
Our thoughts are with Gordon’s family and friends

I have just had the exciting news that my, and co author and research supervisor, Dr. Mark Widdowson's article, has now been published online at Taylor and Francis and will be published in the TAJ next issue. I was in Tesco at the time I got the news and did a great and very loud WHOOP! Thank you again Mark and all the people who made it happen and believed in my ability to do this - especially big thanks to my supervisor at the time Kathie Hostick, the research interviewees ... for telling their moving stories, UKATA (Research Committee), for partially funding the research, Dave Gowling- Tutor at Metanoia Institute, for suggesting I might be dyslexic when I was 58yrs old and to all my TA colleagues and friends. A special thank you to my teachers all those years ago who called me stupid, giving me the determination to succeed and prove I'm not. Watch this space - there will be more support coming for all you wonderful creative dyslexic therapists! Jan Baker

Enjoying preparing to examine at Metanoia, swiftly followed by delivery of the 2nd TA101 at Leeds Beckett Uni. to loads of students fascinated by TA! How do printers seem to know when you have some urgent printing to do and decide to hibernate?
