About University Of Kent Swimming Club
If you enjoy swimming, recreational or competitive, socialising and keeping fit then this is the club for you! We offer swimming to everyone!
Our sessions cater to everyone from competitive swimmers to anyone who fancies a splash in the pool and everything in between! We have friendly competitions between Canterbury Christchurch and within the club, as well as a chance for our more competitive members to attend BUCS in Sheffield. Trials for the competitive team are held at the beginning of each term.
Our swimming sessions take place Tuesday 20: 30-21: 30 (available for everyone) and Thursday 19: 30-20: 30 (competitive team only).
We hold our sessions at King's School Recreational Centre. Directions to the pool from campus can be found at: http://goo. gl /maps /VSg4p
For two weeks at the beginning of every term we offer a walk-down service, where we accompany swimmers to the pool. We will post details of this closer to the time.
Membership fees are just £20 per term or £30 for the year. There is and extra £20 fee for competitive swimmers only. This memberships covers access to the pool during our sessions, however it does not allow you access to the pool at any other time. There are no further fees you have to pay!

Freshers fayre went swimmingly yesterday and we can't wait to see you all at the free(style) taster sessions which are taking place on the 25th September and 2nd October. The single biggest killer of men under 45 is suicide. In 2016, there were 5668 recorded in Great Britain. Of these, 75% we’re male.... 41% of males who've contemplated suicide felt like they could not talk about their feelings.
Not many people know about the growing rate of male suicides. It's important that people not only realise that it's always okay talk about their feelings, but that everyones aware of the people around them and the severity of this problem.
Let's show people that it's always okay to talk regardless of who you are, your mates are just a phone call away. Sit down, make some tea, get some chocolate digestives and have a chat.
