Although beautiful to look at, not all plants are safe to small furries. It is important that you are aware of plants that could be harmful to your grazing pets. For tips on keeping your pet safe this spring take a look at our dedicated page below.

Hot cross buns are an Easter staple, but did you know the raisins in them can be deadly to dogs? Grapes, and all their dried forms including raisins, sultanas and currents, can cause kidney failure in our canine friends. If you're worried that your dog has eaten raisins please give us a call on 01908 309404

Just like us, pur pets can have a range of reactions to bee and wasp stings. At their worst, extreme immune reactions can cause serious swellings. If you see any reaction from your pet to an insect call the practice on 01908 309404

Whilst you're enjoying sweet treats this Easter don't forget to keep an eye on your pets! Xylitol is unfortunatley toxic to dogs and is a sweetener used in many food products including syrup. Be sure to keep these out of reach from pryong paws! For more information on how to prevent xylitol poisoning take a look at our dedicated page below.

While new life is all around us during spring, the bloom also extends to some of our more unwelcome species. Fleas, ticks and worms all start to grow in number around Easter as the weather warms up. Speak to your vet about how these parasites can be prevented all year round by calling the practice on 01908 309404 to book an appointment.

Although beautiful, lilies are harmful to cats. Even the pollen from lilies can be enough to send cats into critical illness. If you think your cat has been exposed to lilies call us straight away on 01908 309404.

Wow - what an amazing service! We took our mastiff in recently with a huge skin flare up - he looked like he had had acid thrown on him. Within 5 days he's almost totally cleared up. Every member of staff we met was absolutely lovely and did a fantastic job. Even when Murray tried to eat a nurse when coming out of sedation (he's usually a big softy) - when we got to the till, after an emergency sedation, shave, two lots of antibiotics and steroids, on a 52kg dog, we expected it to cost a fortune and it was only just over £100. Impressed on every level!

PLUS we also took our puppy in with Murray when he went back for his check up, just to give her a 'good' vet experience after an awful one elsewhere, and the lovely vet we saw even took time out to give Nancy a fuss and an exam and check her microchip etc

Couldn't recommend them more! Thank you! Back next week for Murrays castration

Very good appointment Wednesday morning. Matt done a scan on my dog D'fer. When I told him how D'fer can get very barky if left in kennels not getting 24/7 fuss,(he loves people) I asked if I was able to stay, which he said we can give it a go, but if D'fer don't stand still then he would have to be sedated and admitted. D'fer stood lovely for Matt to complete the scan with no problems. I think Matt was impressed, I know I was! thanks for understanding D'fers needs, I think it made everyone day easier and quieter!!

Thank you for another lovely visit at Vets for Pets Rooksley today when I brought my rabbit in to get him vaccined. Our vet Matthew straight away asked me about how our dogs were doing and I am so happy that he even knows their name and he could probably tell me about their whole medical history as well..Me and my partner had difficulties finding a good vet practice when we moved here to the UK and I was desperate to find someone who knows my dogs well enough to make a decision about any treatments they might need, not only considering how much money they can make on them. Although one of my dogs is still not over this horrible allergy he has, we managed to get it under control and Matthew and other members of the team gave us lots of options and suggestions so far to ease his struggle. A few days ago I also had a nice conversation with the young blonde receptionist(dont know her name:() through phone and without even asking for it she gave me lots of ideas on how to get my rabbit socialised and what to consider before I would buy another rabbit for him as a company. Its not the first time she is so nice to us, she gave us useful advices before we travelled abroad for 2 weeks with our dogs and we went in to get their microchips checked. I can finally say we are not just some people from the crowd but we do know our vets and they know us, big relief and gives us a peace of mind..Thank you guys!!

User

Thank you Matt for your excellent care and help with Keasha. We have been so worried but you have been wonderful explaining everything and very reassuring. Fingers crossed that she is now on the mend and will soon be back in the show ring and also back to her day job as a Pets As Therapy dog x

Scooby and I would like to thank everyone ( especially Huw, he loves you really Huw) who treated Scooby after he was attacked by a Shar Pei on Wed 9 May. All the reception staff have been great, asking how he's doing, and making such a fuss over him at every appointment, besides always asking how I have been coping. Scooby has fully recovered and he seems not to have any lasting physiological effects. Once again a very big thank you to you all, and couldn't ask for a better vet surgery highly recommend. Your simply the best <3 <3 xxx

On Monday Honey was a bit off colour. By Wednesday morning she was collapsed and very seriously ill. She was diagnosed with IMHA. I have never heard of it but it’s very serious and life threatening. The body sees red blood cells as a foreign bodies. The vets at Vets4Pets at Milton Keynes, especially Matt Link were absolutely amazing and gave her an urgent transfusion. This could of ended very differently without there quick action and professionalism. Still a long way to go but confident she is in good hands.

Thank you again x

Just have to say a massive Thank You to the receptionist and vet we just saw as an emergency. Caring, compassionate and professional. Lola is asleep in my arms at home after being very poorly this afternoon. Myself and my daughter are very grateful for your excellent service.

User

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff that helped look after my little dog, Lola, on Thursday with a special thank you to Matt and Sam. Lola had to be admitted for the day to be put on a drip, Matt explained what they would be doing for Lola and understood how hard it was for me to leave her reassuring me that she would be given lots of love and cuddles. Sam was lovely and caring, she completely understood how I was feeling about leaving Lola and my distress in seeing her poorly. Sam rang me with an update on how Lola was doing, which was much appreciated. I also rang her before she went off shift and she went and checked her to let me know how she was doing, I really appreciated this. I cannot thank you enough for the care that you gave both Lola and me. xXx

I have been with Vets4Pets for many many years through good times and bad and I have always had fantastic treatment for my dogs. Yesterday my 6 month old Cockerpoo Molly was spayed and Hugh and all the staff made this anxious time so much more reassuring and they are all so very empathetic to how I was feeling as well as Molly. I can’t thank Hugh and every member of staff for all they have done and all the kindness extended to me and my family I couldn’t ask for a better Vets and highly recommend them as they are brilliant.

User

I can not thank you enough for being so amazing. You helped my cat recover ill health, you’ve treated me respectfully with my weight gaining dog (weight is stable now) and beyond sympathetically with my poor Luna. You’ve treated me how I believe customer used to be treated ‘in the old days’ real 5 star service

Hi this morning I took Lilu my black kitten to have her injections ect.Rooksly I was very nervous because she is very skitish and I thought she would be all over the walls and freak out. How wrong could I be I saw Mattew ( aka, a cat whisper lol ) she just layed on wieghing scales, lounged while having jabs, layed while being microchipped, and nails clipped. Well you could of blown me over. What an amazing experiance. :) The recepionist was fab to. To top it all when she got home she didn't even sulk. I must be in a parrel universe, or someone has swapped my kitten...... All joking aside .... excellent ....

Can’t thank all the staff enough for their love & care of Dave since his accident. From the moment he was brought in by Claire & Rob he has received the very best love and attention. Can’t fault you! Special mention to Hannah who has taken him under her wing to monitor his progress. He is a very special kitteny soft puss cat who, thanks to you all, is still here. Much love & thanks to you all. Dave & family xxx

Back in February i had a situation i wasn't happy about but i am pleased to say i bare no bad feelings towards vets for pets i think that on both halves things could have been handled better but the reason for my change of review is simply the fact they did provide loving care to mine and my partner's little cat called Hitler they did get him well. And towards the end everything became easy and mutual so i have no issues in saying thank you to the staff that helped get our then stray pet well.

I have to say I'm extremely disappointed with the service I have revived from this practise.. My puppy is now 6 months old and we first visited this vets when he was 3 months old because of a cough. I told the first vet I thought it was kennel cough because a family's member dog had just got over it... To which I was told it didn't sound like it and he was too young, after a period of two weeks I returned and was told by a different vet it was kennel cough and was given antibiotics, after another 3 weeks his cough was still there and worse so we returned and I was told to go home and give it another three weeks this was by yet another different vet, we retuned again after three weeks and saw someone different again who seemed confused, Frankie's lungs were apparently clear his throat was ok and his chest was clear she was baffled but gave more antibiotics.... The cough seemed to clear a lot and after the 10 day antibiotic Frankie seemed better but was still coughing very slightly and slowly the cough got worse and he deteriorated so after doing some research myself I realised a simple swob from Frankie's nose could tell us what was wrong now he had symptoms of pneumonia. I had Benn offered expensive X-rays and asked to samples of his faeces, when I did this I took a sample from an accident he had done on the floor of the vets and the nurse watched me put it in the jar I was told after 4 days it wasn't enough... Anyway we had this simple and not as expensive swob taken on our 6th visit after I requested it I was never offered this. And Frankie has two types of bacteria in his lungs and has been on antibiotics now for a week. Today is Wednesday and his current batch have run out, I've asked too book and appointment for a check up on Friday at the vets request and at this time I will pay the outstanding bill which mounted up when he needed fluids for three days. I had already paid over £200 that week and around £450 in total for the same problem. Today I have been told that campioncare are a profit maiming organisation and will not issue Frankie's antibiotics until I hVe paid the outstanding (I was going to pay today for the prescription today) having pneumonia and going without antibiotics for 48 hours can mean Frankie could die but the receptionist said it was tough! Although I appreciate you need to make money I am not up for a free ride but I at truley disgusted by the lack of care for animals. The only person who has showed any compassion for franks health and well being was Jess who was lovely and I thank her I only wish I had seen her on my first appointment and not my 6th.

User

I had a terrible experience wirh you. My dog came in for a lump on her thigh i asked for xrays to be done bwfore the op as she was 14 yrs old. They gave her the op costing one thousand pound saying she was clear then three wks later i get the news she has aggresive cancer of the chest. I lost my baby six mnths ago but i will never forgive you vets4pets

User

I am extremly dusigusted with your service, me and my partner brought a stray cat in because he was really unwell unwell e did the right thing by him black and white male cat he is on this page. Well we have told them if no one claims him could we adopt him they said keep phoning in so we have and then we get told today that we are liable for a £300 vet bill which is not justified atal. Effectively we want to adopt him and give him adopt great home. Which he's adopt stray cat no one come forward to claim him and now we have to pay a bill that we ain't liable for. The vet who delt with us I will make a massive complain about her. Her customer service skills are shit and does not want to deal with me again. Because I won't be so nice. Speaking down at my partner not listening to what she said. Disgraceful and I will be making sure everyone no how bad the service is. Robbing people blind for wanting to adopt a cat. They would not do that to anyone else.
