A little about me. . .

My fitness journey started early when I was playing football as a youngster, however I caught a secondary infection from the flu and it wreaked havoc on my kidneys. Needless to say after numerous hospital stays and buckets of medication I was forced to stop playing.

Over the course of 12 years I battled with kidney failure and all the side effects associated with it. The biggest being rapid weight gain and I found it increasingly difficult to deal with. Just before I was due to head to university, I was dealt another cruel blow, I was told I couldn't go and had to be put on emergency dialysis. So there I was, hooked up to a machine for 10 hours every night. . .

I went through this for just under a year, until I received a kidney from my dad, an incredible gesture that could afford me to live life properly again. ​

Since then I have been to University, got back into sports, and even been abroad to represent team Great Britain in the World Transplant Games, and won medals!
​
I've also been fortunate enough to travel around the UK and various countries to speak about young adult renal care and how important peer and family support is.
​
I finally took the step and did my Personal Trainer cert after talking about it for nearly two years. I thought, why not me? I was already training in the gym, playing sports and giving advice to friends regarding training and nutrition.
