Vintique Upholstery

About Vintique Upholstery

Traditionally trained & Association of Master Upholsterers qualified. I love breathing new life into antique, vintage and modern furniture.

Vintique Upholstery Description

Welcome to Vintique Upholstery, a company I created, based in Teddington, to restore Vintage & Antique chairs.

A wrecked 1960’s Guy Rogers sofa from Ebay, vintage fabric from a market & an upholsterer to marry the two, resulted in far more than I could have imagined.

Not only did I have a bespoke sofa that I adored, but a desire to learn the craft of upholstery, so I could continue to indulge my love of interiors & furniture, leaving behind a career in fashion.

I began my training with the Association of Master Upholsterers, which led to a sought after place at the Cass Art Faculty of Design at London Metropolitan University.

In addition, I worked alongside Master Upholsterers in 3 businesses, honing my upholstery & wood restoration skills.

Blending traditional techniques with beautiful fabrics, I work closely with clients from all over the UK to create the vision they desire.

The process may involve re-designing existing furniture, sourcing a particular style of chair for the home, or even making a bespoke item like a footstool to add the finishing touch. The possibilities are limitless.

The art of upholstery creates the statement your home deserves.

I begin the restoration process by placing the worn out chair on my workbench, admiring its original qualities with a sentimental eye, before embarking on the delicate restoration process.

Once complete, the bespoke chair assures happiness.

I LOVE THIS CHAIR.
Not just because it’s a great teak mid century chair, not just because I found a fab animal print fabric, not just because it’s project number 4 for @monfornothing but because it sold super fast and I knew it would.
I love it when a plan comes together!
... @Sarahmoore dropped it off to me and I knew it had huge potential, it just needed some vision and a whole lot of love.
As soon as I saw the chair and the wood I knew an animal print design would suit the chair. I just needed to find the right print and colour on a very tight budget.
But 1st things 1st...
I removed the old foam and snapped webbing and fully rebuilt the seat and back. The frame needed a good clean and polish to make the teak wood gleam again.
Now to the design bit!
I sourced a very unusual fabric. It’s an extremely convincing leopard fur photo printed onto cotton.
The fabric is a superb design that plays tricks on your eyes & makes you literally want to constantly stroke the chair.
I’m sure the guests of the Newcastle boutique hotel that bought the chair will do just that while they sip on a G&T. - - - #animalprints #leopardfur #animalprintfabric #traditionalcrafts #fellowsouthwoodmaven #upholsterer #midcenturymodernfurniture #cottonfabric #monfornothing #moneyfornothing #etsyuk #boutiquehoteldesign #sarahmoorevintage #bbctv #teakchair

When an email opens like this... “Some help......I’ve been following your social media for a bit now, with a view to getting you to help with a lovely old rocking chair that comes with a story” I am immediately intrigued!
This beautiful antique chair has been in the family since the 1930’s, handed through the generations & my customer remembers it being her late Dads favourite chair, she used to sit on his knees as he rocked away on it.
... The chair came to me broken & half re-upholstered. My customers Ex had gone on an “upholstery course” and this chair was the “project".
My customer found the strength to leave the unhealthy relationship but the chair was tainted, half badly re-upholstered & broken.
She is now in a lovely relationship & engaged to her partner, who wanted her to reclaim the chair by gifting her the re-upholstery cost.
That’s where I come into the story.
I met them both one sunny Saturday for a fabric meeting and it was obvious the chair meant a lot to her & her family.
Her partner immediately saw an @emmajshipley print called Amazon on an antique sofa that was waiting for collection.
The design is inspired by the jungle scenes in the Amazon, featuring jaguars hidden amongst the foliage and playful parrots in the trees. It’s so fun, bright and an explosion of colours.
Her partner kept quiet initially but kept looking over at the print, so I laid the sample on the chair and we all agreed, it was the perfect choice.
They left and I made a promise that she will never look at the chair again in a negative light.
Fast forward a few weeks and the chair was ready to be handed back to her.
I was so excited for her to see the chair again and was blown away by her reaction. She had the biggest smile, I got the biggest hug and I could see from her eyes she would smile now when she sat in the chair.
This chair is more than a piece of furniture. It’s a story of survival of not only the chair but also it’s owner. A story of love, hope, happiness and joy and I feel so privileged to have played a small part in its next chapter. - - #antiquechair #bentwood #artdecodesign #upholsterer #fellowsouthwoodmaven #emmashipley #restoredfurniture @ Sunbury-on-Thames

Who lives in a house with these 2 chairs? - Cathy does, & so did the people before her, as they left them behind when they moved out. Lucky Cathy! - Discarded forgotten chairs are my speciality and luckily Cathy saw past the rips in the fabric and asked me to take them on.... - These were solid well looked after chairs, that just needed some vision to make them flourish again. - Cathy wanted colour and print so I showed her one of my favourite fabric ranges-step up @earthedfabrics by William Clarke! - William Clark & Sons is the oldest surviving linen factory in Ireland. They only use fabric produced locally in Northern Ireland - Earthed and William Clark are members of the Irish Linen Guild, an organisation with only seven members which preserves the quality of fabric produced in Ireland. - I feel proud using their fabrics, which are such high quality & supports a business an hour and half from where my Mum was brought up in Northern Ireland. - Cathy loved the designs and ethos of the brand too, so much so she choose 2. - 1st up a design called Helico:- Lupins on first sight appear to grow in a vertical formation, viewed from above however, we see the beautiful spiraling of the flower heads. Helico comes from a series of ‘aerial’ photographs of lupin heads. - For the second chair she chose the design Flax Fields:- A bold design fusing painting and photography depicting flax blowing in the wind. - A lot of polishing of the wooden frame was required to really bring back the patina of the wood. These chairs have obviously been forgotten for a long time. - So which one is your favourite? Also what furniture have you inherited from the previous owners of your house? - -

Well yesterday was exciting. - I was lucky enough to get a full page feature in @dailymail Interiors section. - Banging the drum for saving our once loved furniture and re-inventing it. ... - I talked sofas, chairs and memory chairs adorned with rugby and football shirts for once avid players. - I shared some of the stories people share with me, when they hand over a precious chair, which once belonged to their mum, dad, grandma, grand father even great grand ma’s etc. And we make a new plan for the chair with amazing new fabric. - This section of the paper normally talks about what’s new to buy, so I feel very privileged that yesterday, for a whole page the Interiors section featured me talking about the past and looking at what we already have that has definitely not passed it sell by date, and has huge potential with a bit of design and skill. - That to me is a good day! - Who saw it? It’s the perfect crisp Autumn morning to share this beautiful mid century sofa.
Barbel bought the sofa on @eBay_uk which opens up into a handy sofa bed.
Her initial brief was a grey heavy woven fabric for durability, as she had a child & another on the way.
... But...that changed when we had our fabric meeting.
These meetings tend to last 45 mins & we talk about the item, the decor & style of the room & anything else that I feel is relevant. Sometimes it can be as random as a colour I spot on a scarf or a nail colour I see my customer wearing, that triggers the brief.
Re-upholstery is an investment, getting it right is critical, playing it safe is what the High Street does, my customers come to me for something a little different.
So to ensure they truly love the result, I push the design brief to there are no regrets and the newly restored piece of furniture becomes their favourite in their home.
I knew Barbel deep down really wanted a bright velvet, but she thought velvet was not durable enough. However once I explained how technical velvet is, it didn’t take long for her eye to be turned, especially when I showed her the vibrant colours available in the @linwood_fabric Omega stain resistant range.
Immediately she was drawn to the oranges, which I knew would be perfect, blending beautifully with the wooden arms & legs, but also so modern.
She chose the colour Carnelian.
Carnelian is a gem stone of motivation & endurance, leadership & courage. It’s the colour of a sunset, or the first flash of Autumn. Bold & energetic it’s a colour that exudes warmth. Carnelian is traditionally worn to exude passion, love, and desire.
The wooden arms needed attention so they were stripped & stained. The metal mechanism within the sofa had bent, so opening the sofa to a bed was tricky, so that was removed & straightened and now it opens as it should.
I love the result! Just look at the lovely message in the last pic that Barbel sent me, proves that pushing the design brief works. - #midcenturyhome #fellowsouthwoodmaven #upholsterer #velvet #carnelian #midcenturymodernfurniture #reinvent #reupholstered #sunburyonthames #interiorsinspo #upholstery #craftswoman @ Sunbury-on-Thames

Look at this regal beauty.
Such an elegant shape, a beautiful antique and the best bit...Yvonne bought it on @ebay_uk for an absolute bargain.
She was looking for an item that would sit nicely in her bay window and would brighten her room.
... She bought this amazing velvet fabric by @prestigioustextiles at a sample sale, and gave me quite a challenge to make it fit, as she had bought only a small amount.
Luckily with one lower arm and some contrast piping from @linwood_fabric it fitted perfectly. There wasn’t a scrap of fabric to spare 😅
She hadn’t spotted the fabric was called Hampton Court, which is just up the road from both of us. I call that serendipity.
She got a little teary when she collected her chaise, she was so happy that the idea in her head had become, in her words, a stunning piece of art. - - #antiquechaise #antiquefurniture #chaise #chaiselongue #upholsterer #fellowsouthwoodmaven #hamptoncourtpalace #hamptoncourt #reupholster #prestigioustextiles #velvetfabric #ebayuk #sunburyonthames #serendipity

I have been waiting very patiently to share @rebeccajmillsdesigns fabrics with you.
This weekend Rebecca has a pop up at @westelmuk #Kingston to launch her 1st ever range of fabrics, wallpaper, cushions and stationery. So I can finally share them with you too.
I have had the privilege of transforming some of her vintage and antique furniture finds to showcase her stunning supersoft velvets.
... You can see the afters and before images of some of the pieces here.
Which one is your favourite?
Her patterns are inspired by her sense of the world, from beautiful botanicals to pebbles on the beach.
She has created dramatically contrasting collections- placing florals next to geometrics or an animal print and bringing them together through colour.
Her quest is to create distinctive, contemporary designs, inspired by the amazing everyday, bringing a splash of beauty to your world.
I genuinely love every print she has produced and my customers are also loving her fabrics which I’m already selling.
Seeing her brand evolve is very exciting.
Click on her Instagram page here @rebeccajmillsdesigns to see more.
Hope you have a wonderful pop up this weekend Rebecca, and if you’re in Kingston pop down and say hello to her.
She’s worked so hard to get to here and I know she will be a huge success.

I’m not going to lie, if this 1930’s Tan Sad true posture seating chair had wheels, I would have kept it for sure 😊
Jenny spotted this chair on Freely Wheely and grabbed it for £0’s.
The chairs were made for post war machinists, typists etc so built to last.
... It needed a new seat and back padding, the rust removed, a few new bolts and of course new fabric.
Step up @kirkbydesign Puzzle fabric. As soon as I saw the chair I knew the fabric that would work and Jenny loved this design too, so much so that the chair is not going in the study anymore, it’s going in the living room 👏🏻
I do love it when a chair gets promoted.
Who’s on @Ebay @gumtreeuk @freecycle having a browse tonight?

Hello my 1st bit of press...did anyone see it?
It’s the September issue of @homes_antiques and features my green sofa and my antique chair from my website shoot last year. The sofa is now in my living room and I bloody love it.
... A lady from the Isle of Sky called me and told me I was in the magazine. Random I know, but glad she did as I would have missed it.
Sadly they missed some of the credits off and didn’t include my website address but we’ll ignore that for now and I’ll credit everyone here 👇🏻

It’s a bank holiday weekend so rain is standard but being self employed it’s also standard that I :-
a) forgot b) will be working tomorrow
... So bring on the rain today as I plan to do diddly squat! I’m going to lounge like a lounge lizard all day.
Talking of lounging...wouldn’t this chaise be perfect for lounging!
This is Rebecca’s chaise which was banished to the garage for a few years. It has been in the family for many years and was last re-upholstered by her husbands grandfather. What an honour for me to be the next person to get my hands on it. No pressure!
Rebecca and her husband wanted print and this beautiful antique chaise definitely deserved a print.
Step up this wonderful fabric by @matthewwilliamson for @osborneandlittle called Sunbird.
An exotic bird with extravagant plumage darts between rich foliage in this pattern printed on pure supersoft cotton.
When I delivered the chaise back we put it upstairs in a gorgeous room where Rebecca’s mother in law sometimes stays. How wonderful she gets to look at the chaise her father once re-upholstered.
Now back to lounging around for me!

After all life’s too short for ordinary furniture!
Picture taken by @carojonesphoto @sunburyantiques last year for my website shoot as I cringed and giggled my way round the market. I bought a new top for the shoot, my iron broke on the morning so I had to wear it creased, the arms annoyed me on the top! I gave it to a charity shop the next week. I’m a natural model...not!

What lies beneath!!!
@Nadinebaggott bought these beautiful Halabala 1930's ArtDeco bentwood chairs from a reputable antique and interiors shop in Chiswick.
The H-269 Lounge Chair designed Jindřich Halabala for UP Závody Brno, is arguably the most well-known Czech design, instantly recognizable for its exaggerated, curved arms.
... Czech industrial designer Jindřich Halabala is known for his modernist, industrially manufactured furniture in Czechoslovakia and had a huge influence on the interior design of many postwar Czech homes.
This pair of Halabalas were sold as fully restored however every time Nadine sat on them she felt something was wrong as they were very uncomfortable, so they were relegated to sit upstairs hidden away.
On 1st viewing I could see an appalling reupholstery job, staples visible on the outside of the fabric, the beautiful bentwood arms were wobbly & painted with chalkpaint 😩. The seat had a very saggy bottom with the coil springs protruding from the top & bottom of the seat. A bonafide bodge job.
I knew they needed a rebuild, no quick fix for these beauties, so we started looking at fabrics.
Nadine's home is a monochrome marvel, black and white with a smidge of grey
Rarely am I asked to source white velvets, but for this client and these chairs, it was very much the right choice.
She opted for a lush velvet from @OsborneandLittle called Addo, a velvet elephant hide design with contrast black piping.
When I stripped the chairs the “bodge job” revealed itself even more.
I uncovered the original webbing that had snapped away from the frame, newer webbing hand sewn onto the original worn and torn webbing to try and keep the springs in the seat.
The original fabric had been left on so no new padding had been added in over 80 years.
After some proper re-upholstery and restoration, some amazing new fabric, the arms stripped back to the bare wood and sprayed a soft sheen black paint, secured with new fixings, the chairs were back to their original glory.
They now sit beautifully in her living room, and are not hidden away as a bad buy.
Now that's what I call re-upholstery and restoration. @ Sunbury-on-Thames

Repeat after me...Summer is not over.
To prove it let’s have a throwback to a chaise re-upholstered for Eve.
@eve38twix bought this beautiful chaise to me badly needing an update, to work in her home.
... Her fabric inspo came from none other than the palm queen herself @erica_davies
This is a perfect example of old meeting new and working beautifully together.
The wood had a good clean and nourish too.
This antique is now perfect for Eve's modern home and reflects her style & taste perfectly.
See the sun has actually come out again.

My mission has always been to save furniture from landfill, and to show my clients that fabric can make all the difference in creating a unique and striking impact that allows them to inject their personality into their homes.
Melode contacted me through Instagram with the brief to feminise her 14 yr old sofa.
She wanted bold, bright and velvet!
... Taking her inspiration from the London restaurant @sketch whose interior is a delight of dusty pink and brass.
The power of social media meant I never actually met Melode. We worked together over the phone and on email as she travelled a lot and lived in London.
I sampled every pink I could find as although she loved the sketch pink, she also had a very bright, high ceiling living room, so the room could take colour well.
Her final choice came back as the amazing @kirkbydesign Ice velvet in a bold bright cerise pink. A luxe quality of cotton velvet but with a gentle lustrous finish. A superb choice.
When Melodes sofa arrived in my studio, I knew immediately it was an incredibly well made sofa. It weighed a ton, which is always a very good sign.
Then I lifted off the seat cushions and saw the original makers label @art_forma_international
A business founded in 1937, located in the upholstery manufacturing capital of the UK, Long Eaton, Nottingham.
They have a heritage in making distinctive luxury furniture. They like me, believe the things you cannot see, are just as important as those you can.
Melodes sofa has a coil sprung base, back and arms. Plus the seat cushions are also sprung. This sofa is incredibly well made and of the highest quality, and will be around for another 100 years at least.
Definitely worthy of a new life in a stunning, bright, supersoft luxury pink velvet don’t you think?
Melode is now planning the design of her room around her amazing new sofa. This makes me very happy.

So if you follow my instagram stories, you’ll know that a few months ago i did an emergency run to collect 2 chairs that someone had found on the side of the road in Teddington.
Katie had seen them the night before on her way home from work and they were still there the following morning.
It’s was a sign!
... She had wanted a large chair for her home, something bespoke, statement and something restored after following me on social media for a while.
Within an hour of that message from Katie the rickety, stained and damaged chairs were with me in my studio.
I think when Katie saw the chairs up close she was a little overwhelmed by the condition they were in, but I see chairs like this all the time, once the fabric is removed and the frame tightened it was plain sailing from there.
Now let’s talk about the fabric, Katie wanted bold..my speciality!
The samples that Katie left out meeting with were fabulous prints and patterns, but our conversation about fabrics stuck.
I had showed her my green velvet sofa which is on my website. A few days later she emailed me to say she had a turnaround and wanted to go with velvet & the same design & fabric I used on my sofa, but in red
How bloody marvellous! I love my sofa fabrics.
So the choice was @Kirkbydesign Cloud fabric, a quilted velvet in a quirky 3D graphic hexagonal design, which gave Katie a pattern which was important.
I sourced matching plain velvets as the quilted fabric is too thick for certain areas of the chair @linwood_fabric omega in Poppy was a great match.
We agreed the legs should be black and that was it, design agreed & fabric chosen.
Katie was lost for words when she collected her chair and couldn’t believe it was the same chair she had left in my studio a month before.
Not bad for a discarded chair found on the side of the road in Teddington. You could never buy this beautifully bespoke and personal chair in a shop, with a fabulous story now for her to pass on. - #Teddington #bespoke #chair #upholsterer #sunburyonthames #linwood #kirkbydesign #cloud #velvetchair #fellowsouthwoodmaven #throwaway #chairdesign #chairinspo #restore #revive #reused #recycle @ Sunbury-on-Thames

Project 3 @monfornothing piece in the bag.
Can I call it a full house now I’ve worked with all 3 presenters? I think so!
This project was found my EJ aka @hatchetandbear
... A forlorn piano stool about to be chucked in the tip, saved by EJ and handed over to me.
I had a plan!
I had been dying to use artist @emmajshipley new range of fabrics, an exciting collaboration with @clarke_clarke_interiors called Animalia.
Mystic, magical and exotic, ‘Animalia’ features tropical parrots, swinging lemurs, fierce tigers and delicately hand drawn giraffes, with pops of neon colours throughout.
I chose Rousseau design as the scale of print was perfect for the size of the piano stool.
The wood had seen better days so cue @montanacans in colour nautilus, the perfect navy blue in my opinion.
I also wanted to get 2 colours of velvet in the design, so took the piano stool apart piece by piece and made a plan for some bright yellow and blue velvet. Can you see the blue hiding on the bottom? Never forget the bottom!
I carefully put the stool back together piece by piece and just couldn’t leave the legs without a final flourish. Cue @frogtape and a stripe of neon yellow on the tips of the legs to finish the score, see what I did there 😉
Can you believe this was being thrown out?
EJ loved the new piano stool and we had a giggle filming the reveal, where Ruby dog has a starring role and chocolate magnums were the order of the day-well it was a million degrees in my studio!
I’ve also had word that there is a buyer lined up already!
That make me one very happy upholsterer!

£365 for 4 chairs.
What a great statement they will make around a dining table, plus a superb story goes with them too.
... They will be on TV later this year, where you can see me taking these plain, ordinary and battered chairs into extra ordinary, bold and a statement of sheer individuality.

We're so glad we found Sharon! Not only has she transformed our beautiful but extremely knackered iron framed sofa but she was so patient with us as we procrastinated for months over colours and fabric choices. And then once we finally decided, she turned it round super quick so we had it in time for Christmas. Sharon was so easy to deal with, full of suggestions and knowledgeable on fabrics - we're now looking out for more projects! Thank you Sharon!

User

The small chair that Sharon has revamped for us is fabulous. The whole process was so easy, smooth and quick! Can’t wait to find another project for her!!

User

Sharon’s work is quite simply fantastic. Our original late 1920s/early 30s oak framed sofa and arm chairs were in a state of near collapse - last re-covered in the 1960s. In spite of the terrible condition, we all loved the suite so much and knew that we could never part with it but we desperately needed Sharon’s expertise. And what a wonderful job she has done! Indeed, it is a complete transformation. The mustard-coloured 60s material has been replaced with a beautiful pearl grey linen and viscose fabric. Horrid old castors have been replaced with oak bun feet. We absolutely love it! It’s wonderful to know that an heirloom piece such as our 90 year old sofa will live on for many years yet - thank you Sharon!

User

Sharon was fabulous at encouraging me to be brave and bold when choosing fabric colour for my chair. I'm now the happy owner of an amazing piece of furniture, lovingly restored and beautifully covered. It was in a sorry state when I acquired it and I wasn't even sure it could be rescued. Now it's the hot seat in our home, with a pecking order of who gets to sit in it! Thanks Sharon!

User

Sharon showed us an amazing range of fabrics and clearly has a great eye for colour. I absolutely love our armchair that she has brought back to life. Her work is beautiful and I am delighted!

User

Sharon is brilliant! Really helped me when I rocked up 5months ago with my grandparents chair - it has massive sentimental value to me as my grandma always used to sit in it and when she passed away my grandad cherished it! Now they've both passed away I really wanted it to be my feature forever chair in my home. Sharon really helped me pick material, take samples home and didn't rush/push me into a decision. I now have it at home and really love it! Thank you

User

Sharon has transformed our £2.50, tired looking, Parker Knoll armchair from e-bay into a bispoke, understated peice of furniture that will stay in our family for many years to come. Sharon was so patient when we took almost three months to choose the fabric! I am so pleased we found her and can’t recommend her more highly. I’m now on the look-out for a Parker Knoll stool to match our beautiful chair!

User

Sharon has now worked on and completely transformed three chairs for me. Each one is completed beautifully and so professionally finished.

Sharon is an absolute pleasure to work with, so friendly and helpful, she was able to come up with the perfect fabrics for each piece making choosing a piece of cake.

I would highly recommend and already have another chair to deliver soon!

User

Sharon did an amazing job on a much loved chair for us. Originally belonging to my husband’s grandparents it now has pride of place in our snug (the pug snug) and is a very popular spot for our pugs Pickle and Lola to sit.

User

Sharon did a superb job transforming my tatty old chair into something beautiful. Not only is she a very skilful upholsterer but really took the time to get the fabric just right, even to the extent of getting a bespoke print! Just fabulous!

User

Sharon did a great job breathing new life into my lombok teak stool. She was very easy to work with and helped advise with fabric choices to suit the piece and our home. I certainly recommend you make contact with her and discuss any project you might be considering.

Sharon did a fabulous job on our Ligne Roset sofas and chair - it’s like having brand new furniture and it looks great in our new seaside home

Not only did Sharon come with a huge array of samples to choose from but she instinctively knew the sorts of things I would like from the description I had given her of the room the chaise longue was to go in. Then she threw in a few curve balls for good measure - one of which we chose! The work was done fast and brilliantly and we are so happy. I wouldn't hestitate to recommend her and have already done so.

My gorgeous ‘new’ chair, rescued by the fabulous talented Sharon. It looks absolutely stunning in-situ. What a brilliant whirlwind experience. So happy to support local fine trade @Sunbury-on-Thames

I have had my chairs sitting in the garage for 3 years, hoping that i would 'happen upon' an upholsteror who would do an amazing job, it's a big investment and nerve wracking experience to trust your furniture and money to someone you don't know. I asked on 'Next-door' for a recommendation and many people came back with Sharon's name so I checked out her reviews.

I wasn't disappointed. My chairs look beautiful and dealing with Sharon was easy and pleasant. I can't recommend her highly enough, it was a full service, upholstery, stuffing, new castors. The chairs are old and wonky and not quite a pair but the pattern matching and symmetry were perfect. What more can I say - 5 stars

Huge thanks for such beautiful work. Sharon took in my cocktail chair and pouffe and reupholstered them in my own printed fabrics. I knew from the moment I met Sharon she would do a good job; she came across with such passion, fantastic knowledge and experience. When I saw the finished pieces, I was overwhelmed- they're both stunning and the attention to detail is amazing. I'm now on my way to setting up my own business and have these two beautiful pieces to showcase. Sharon has been so supportive- giving great advice, I can't thank her enough. I highly recommend her services and l'll definitely be calling on her again in the near future.

Ever since I first saw posts of the transformations that chairs and sofas underwent with Sharon I had my heart set on bringing life back to an old family nursing chair that goes back a couple of generations. Finally it became reality this month and I am so happy with the result. It was such an enjoyable and creative process choosing the fabrics. It is now like having a piece of art in our living room and I will always smile when I see the rich Irish linen with the natural Flax Field design that we chose, and remember breastfeeding all 3 of our boys in that very chair (when it looked very scruffy!). Thank you Sharon :)

Dealing with Sharon is nothing but a positive experience and I'd have no qualms recommending her skills and talents to anyone who is looking to restore or update a piece of furniture. I was about to arrange for the council to come and pick up my mum and dad's old chesterfield sofa that had been in the garage for years, to take it to the dump, it was looking that sorry for itself.... but instead I got in touch with Sharon, and hey presto, it's now in my home with a new lease of life. I love the fact it's been reupholstered and am enjoying sitting on it with my daughter in the same way I sat on it with my mum many moons ago! Thanks Sharon!

Brilliant, high quality personal service. Sharon is a joy to work with.

Sharon recovered Mum's much loved and worn out chair... not only has the chair had a new lease of life but so has Mum ! The whole room looks brighter and more full of life thanks to Sharon's transformation of the chair. Her help in choosing the right fabric and sourcing samples and completing the reupholstering at such short notice was more than invaluable. And to top it all she then made a tapestry kit that Mum had stitched into a lovely cushion to complement the newly upholstered chair . Can't recommend Sharon highly enough, don't hesitate to entrust your family heirlooms to her.... she's the best.
