Relive the cinematic magic of these classic films at Vue:

User

Good film and great seating. Queue too long for food. Previous customer bought item with cheese, staff member wiped counter, but I pointed out my husband is highly allergic to cheese. His response was he should be fine as long as he doesn't touch the cheese. Felt staff member was making a sweeping statement and didn't wash his hands having cleaned up cheese and then served us. High risk of cross contamination!!!!

User

Watch Jurassic world the other week with my son lovely comfy seats cheap tickets too on way home he realises his phone has fallen out of his pocket but the staff are very honest as he got his phone back well done the vue

User

The cinema is great with comfortable seats and plenty of room. People are reminded not to use mobile phones and respect other customers by not talking throughout the film BUT there is no mention of rustling sweet and crisp bags which is the most annoying noise to me and can completely ruin a good film.

So maybe the management could put some thought into reminding people to be quiet on all fronts.

User

Went to see Deadpool 2. Comfy seats, plenty of leg room. Happy with the picture and sound quality. By my god the service at the food counter is SO slow. How in God's name can it take nearly 5 minute to take an order for and serve up a portion of tortilla chips, popcorn and a drink. And it wasn't even busy. How they manage to serve everyone in time for their film when it's busy I'll never know. They sell tickets from the same counter as well. Appallingly slow turn around.

User

Went there on Sunday to watch Game Night and Tomb Raider, The films were good, sound quality, picture quality etc were spot on, it’s just the air con wasn’t working in screen 4 so I sat there wrapped up in my coat the whole film. To be fair tho, there was a sign on the door before going in saying if it’s too cold come out in the first 20 minutes and you can get a refund. I’m a regular visitor to Vue as I like the legroom but have noticed recently it’s taking a while to fix things like dodgy armrests or the base of my seat sliding forwards one time. For the amount we pay, these things could be fixed a bit quicker. Also some of the servers behind the concessions stands could show a little bit more urgency when the queues get long!

Overall a good visit, but in general could do better.

User

We went to see Peter Rabbit yesterday and I was disappointed to find that screen 12 still didn't have the air con fixed! Not very good considering it was broken last week when we went to see Jumanji.I would have expected it to have been fixed considering Peter Rabbit is a new release. My chair was also broken with an arm rest completely missing and the seat kept moving forward!!!!! Considering it is not cheap you would expect everything to be up to standard but unfortunately it isntïżœ. Come on Vue please get things up to standard including the toilets which are quite frankly disgusting and constantly smell like dirty drains. Cinema luxe showcase in Southampton is so much nicer and I would rather travel the extra half an hour to get nicer seats and comfort and cheaper seats which is a shame because vue used to be lovely.

User

Second time round I was so irritated by guys who where sat behind us they had their smelly shoes on top of seats just opposite where we where sat , we had to move seats because We couldn’t relax at all ,which I found very rude and disgusting, because I didn’t pay all that money to come and smell some idiots smelly shoes for 2 bloody hours, I think we need staff to keep an eye on people in the cinema with disgusting behaviour like that.

User

I do wish more attention was given to those in wheelchairs and their carer. Some of the screens have wheelchair ‘seats’ right at the front meaning a pain in the neck and far too loud sound. Others have very odd seats for the careers. Screen 10 wheelchair seats are not as bad as some but could be so much better and considering the mass of empty seats surely a better arrangement is possible. We are stuck with Gunwharf for our wheelchair user but go to The Odeon she on our own which has far better seating for guests/customers in wheelchairs.

User

Great film and company, shame the food service is SO SLOW!!!!!!

Don’t appeared to be bothered that the people queuing in front of them are potentially late for their films. Who gets to the cinema 1/2hr early because they might need to queue for food or drinks?

User

Went to watch a film in screen 6 the whole way though all anyone could hear was birds squawking flapping around in the roof and pigeons cooing aswel as small creatures flying around inside. This was distracting and totally ruined our cinema experience. When we complained the staff just said we know we can’t do anything gunwharf won’t pay to fix the roof and head office said we have to keep opening the screen. This is not good enough. The managers customer service was poor when dealing with this matter.

User

Truly the film was great, the seats were great in VIP. But.... the queues for drinks and food are simply unacceptable and don’t get me started on the pricing of sweets popcorn and drink. Now I know we all understand we will pay a premium for food and drink at the cinema but honestly don’t make me wait 30 mins to fleece me! Take your pick of brilliant service and high price or poor service but cheaper but you are going to experience the worst of both if you go to here!

Please sort it out Vue and decide what you want to be!

User

The seats and film are good. customer service is shocking!!! if you have vouchers you have to go to the food tills not all of them work!!

Long wait as everyone ordering food as well as tickets give yourself a good hour to see the film on busy days parking is atrocious as well as the queues.

User

The Vue used to be THE place to go for the most recent films, great food and comfort. Now Vue Portsmouth is dirty, smelly and the service is so slow! On the only plus side, the film was great

User

In screen 5 trying to watch the incredibles but the air con is broken..i would swap to something different but my son has autism and we can not change movies. Should get free ice drinks to keep cool. Or simple this screen needs closing until its fixed

User

I love VUE, it’s my favourite Cinema by far. Usually I would be reviewing with 5 stars.

However I went to the 9:40am viewing of Avengers Infinity War in Screen 6 with my girlfriend on Monday 14th May, all we could hear from start to finish were birds squawking and wings flapping in the ceiling. I reported it to a member of staff who said that they were aware of the problem and nothing was done.

I have since spoken to at least 8 other people that all experienced the same problem in the same screen every time!

Cinema isn’t a particularly cheap day out. After paying £11.48 for the 2 tickets, plus over £20 for food/drink, we then had the film ruined by the birds!

User

Guy behind the till was incompetent, this particular branch always shorts you on drink and pop corn even tho you’re paying 10 pounds odd for it! No problems in the actual cinema emporium so that’s why I was generous with 2 stars.

User

Shocking service from the manage Mark, try to do the super Monday and the website has been down for hours so unable to get any codes or login, so que up in the que for 15mins only to be told that he has no control and can do the discount so nothing he can do in a very rude manner!! Appalling that they offer a discount then won’t let you access it!!

User

Screen broke down on Father’s Day , disappointed children made to wait 45 mins and argue staff for some money back, poor staff communications , no care for the upset children never returning, can’t wait for a new cinema complex to open! Stay away folks, admin feel free to contact me!

User

Disgusted is a understatment.

Brought myself and family out to watch coco... purchased tickets from ticket office im in a wheelchair and the muppet on the desk gave us 4 seat right at the top.... so getting my kids and there nan and grandad in i came out and spoke to member of staff and explained they were mortified so now i had a refund for my ticket but now have to wait in the freezing cold for movie to finish..
